Crafting Question: Why Would Anyone Make A Satchel?

Gaining XP (and thereby SP) at level 80 is rather trivial and definitely not a crafting related reward.
Cost reduction for producing the armor as a satchel on the other hand does sound like a nice deal.

The intent was for the satchels to require the same amount of materials as crafting the individual pieces. I’m not sure where this got broken for these, but I’ll take a look at it.

Actually i’m not sure that making the satchel’s component cost the same as all individual pieces’s component cost would make getting a satchel worth it either.

The cost of getting the satchel recipe is very significant, so much so that the only reason i’d ever want to get a satchel recipe is if crafting armor from it actually cost less, noticeably less, than crafting each individual piece.

Consider it a sort of “investment” that should reduce the cost of mass producing armor boxes of that specific type, that would make sense imho.

The best voice actor in the game (so far that I’ve heard) is whoever did Tybalt Leftpaw. Seriously, I loved him! Not just because of his dialogue but because the actor really sold the character.

This game needs more apples.

Oh god yes, everything said in this thread – yes.
I’m sorry but the personal story writing feels so overly grandiose that the characters become cardboard cutouts, one-dimensional and cartoonish.

a ‘valiant hero’ is just that, a valiant hero, he has no personality and no defining characteristics other than being that same valiant hero, is just one example.

the only character that actually made me smile is the one who really, really loves apples.
when he started to identify with the quaggin i just laughed and finally saw a character
rather than a mindless one-dimensional npc, and then he went ahead and died.
i understand the effect which was intended, the player was supposed to get angry, vengeful, motivated to push ahead and go through the story but the effect was actually quite opposite.

While it seems like a lot of fantasy games nowadays overdo the “serious and dark” narrative, i’d like some of that in GW, less cartoonish good vs evil, and more grey area, more seriousness and moral ambiguity.

As a sidenote, a relatable anti-hero would also be good.

Or you can just carry a weapon in your bag and swap it out of combat.

/thread

I don’t suppose you know a way to disallow loot from being dropped into a specific bag so that my precious lvl80 exotics won’t be mixed with the stuff i want to salvage, vendor or sell? >.> (don’t even say invisible bags, loot auto-drops into them like any other bag)

Or there could just be a slot for a secondary loadout.
Convenience is not a bad thing.

Put the things you want to keep in the top bag. Organization skills are amazing.

So whenever i want to switch loadout i’m supposed to reorganize my inventory, brilliant.

Let me begin by saying that i fully understand why Elems aren’t allowed to switch weapons during combat, that is not what this post is all about.

What this post is all about is that we do need a secondary weapon slot anyway
that can only be swapped out of combat to add some flexibility to elementalist gameplay.

Most elems to my knowledge end up either playing the whole game with a staff, or dual dagger, never changing because quite frankly going into inventory to change weapons quickly becomes a mess.

Giving us the convenience of having a secondary weapon slot for out-of-combat swapping won’t give anyone any advantage, but it will make the game more fun by making the class -seem- more flexible to whoever plays it.

edit:
Or alternatively let us actually switch it in combat but with a significant cooldown.

I made a topic about exactly that in the game bugs forum category a few days ago.
I’ve actually got myself a satchel recipe before seeing the ingredients it takes,
that was quite the facepalm.

Satchels are always going to be pointless because they require more components
than all individual pieces combined, this has nothing to do with market prediction.

Armor satchels, a likely bug.

The recipe in question btw is “Satchel of Berserker’s Exalted Armor (Exotic)”

50 mystic coins, 1g 25s in wine, 12sp in crystals and a piece of the most expensive crafted armor in game is what it took in mystic forge to get the recipe for this satchel.
That alone is a large, expensive, grindy effort.

I would have expected the recipe to be, well, a reward for putting all that in, it wasn’t.
To my astonishment the recipe is either bugged or useless as it seems to require almost
double the insignias required to craft each piece individually.

In other words, getting this recipe plus crafting armor from this recipe is FAR more expensive than simply crafting each piece individually, maybe several times over.

Is this intended? if so, what is the purpose of armor satchels?
I’m somewhat at a loss here.
