I am running at 1980 × 1080 on my 5K iMac and the game will crash within 10 minutes if there are lots of other player characters around, such as in WvW games. Seems ok doing the personal story.
Based upon some of the response so far, I’ve now set “Use Low Resolution” setting on the app itself from OS X Get Info – although I don’t notice any difference, the game still offers 5K as a screen resolution.
I’ve also set the game to run at 1080 resolution and frame limited to 30 FPS, with this set it only crashed once and that was during a battle involved about 20-30 players battling a champion over a period of about 1.5 hours.
Played GW2 last night for first time on new Retina iMac after restoring from Time Capsule. I find the game will crash often ( say every 10-20 minutes ) and just quit. No error messages.
I have tried at a couple of screen resolutions, such as 1080, half retina and full retina.
The time I tried at full retina it crashed straight away, so I suspect some graphics problem.
Anyone else playing on a retina iMac without problems?
Ok, problem is back again tonight!
First time trying to login after the Clockwork Chaos update.
Looks like I’ll soon be back to World of Warcraft.
I have now restored ( from Time Capsule ) my oldest version of GW2 and let it update itself. ( Previously I had restored from a two week old copy )
The game now launches correctly and appears to be ok.
Lets hope I don’t have the issue again in the future.
I am having the exact same problem.
I’ve left the program open for quite some time, still no progress.
Have restored from a backup from a couple of weeks ago via Time Capsule – no good
Deleted Guild Wars 2 folder in Application Folder in my Library folder – no good
Any ideas anyone?
