Guild Wars 2

Hey Guys,

i got a new PC and WvW isn’t lagging anymore. So I want to start going into WvW a little bit more. Since I played some PvP, i know how the meta thief roaming build works etc.

My Questions: How do you roam? Do you guys just wander around the map and search for lonely people? or do you contest camps? do you solo roam or go in small groups? Is it rewarding drop / WvW exp wise, or should i zerg for that? What encounters should i avoid as thief?

Greetz. (What classes are better at / on par / worse than thief when it comes to roaming?)

So I’ve played DD in BWE3 and just don’t know what staff is good for. Mobility is better on SB, D/D is better single target damage, S/P cleaves better and has better mitigation.

I just can’t imagine a situation where i’d really wanna use staff (at least PvE wise).
I was so hyped at being a kungkittenbrawler and now i kinda feel useless with it.

What do you guys use staff for? And do you have any rotations with it?

i got 7 Chars on lvl 80, but recently enjoy playing thief the most.
I mostly play PvE. So in dungeons I feel like I’m in a good place with my thief,
also gathering seems kinda fast, due to multiple teleports and running signet.

For big scale farming like silverwastes and world events I still prefer my ele tho.

So my question: what else is easy and fast to farm as a thief? Do you guys play thief in world boss events at all? What builds do you use outside of dungeons?

Thief:
-Stealth for Skipping Trash
-Blinds and Smokescreen for def
-spammable CC (pistol 4) to remove defiance
-decent dps with d/d
-decent cleave with s/p
-spammable blast finishers for speed/stealth/might/heal stacking (but you can’t do it on your own)

Ele:
-Superior Might stacking (12-18stacks from 1 ele)
-Perma Fury
-insane dps
-Icebows
-can stack vuln and blinds (glyph of storms, LH)
-every weapon is viable

both classes are very squishy and melee (if you dont play staff ele), so you gotta know how to dodge and stay alive

Races have no effect on playability whatsoever, except for some racial utility skills and an elite. But you will never really use them anyways.

When it comes to lore, there are/were mages and sorcerers in all of the races of tyria. I guess if you really want to stick to it style wise: the charr are like fire warlocks, the norn more like tribal shamans. Sylvari are pretty young in the lore and asura are little masterminds capable of magic and technology. And Humans are all-rounders as always.

I’d look up the cultural armors that are available to the races if i were you. Sometimes they look neat, somethimes they suck.

Other than that just play what comforts your look.
