I have never been a fan of the gold sink argument. I think if the price is right on the “Passport” then it removes that argument entirely.
At current Gem→Gold conversion rates (100 Gems – 1G 23S) 600 Gems is 7G 38S.
I do a lot of waypointing doing map completion, but I dont think I have done 7G worth of waypointing. I dont know if I will ever do 7G worth. The way that stacks up you could make the case that a 600 Gem “Passport” is more of a gold sink then the current system.
That would work. More than anything I want to eliminate the items in the list my character can’t wear or equip anyhow. No point in even displaying them.
We currently have temporary, and permanent bank and trading post access items in the world. We all have seen the “Permanent Bank Access”, and “Summon Black Lion Agent” items.
At first I was thinking the idea would be buying a waypoint passport with gems or gold that would unlock all of the waypoints in the game, sort of a universal passport. Upon thinking further, a better idea might be a passport that makes travel no cost for waypoints you have visited before.
It seems to me that most waypoints I am traveling to cost anywhere from 1 to 3 silver. I dont know what that works out to over the life of my playing time, but I would be willing to drop 600 gems on “free” waypointing to ports I have unlocked.

As the subject indicates:
I am leveling up my main (an engineer). If I go to the trading post to look for a new armor set I see two pages of “Armor cannot be appied to your profession” or something to the like.
I would like in the additional filtering options to say I am looking for a helm, level 75-79, exotic, for an engineer.
