Besides, you get new “racial” skills. You’re the only folks who get to use Dwarf, Demon, Centaur and Dragon radials.
I like this from a thematic point of view; the Revenant sacrifices the legacy of their own people to receive the otherwise lost legacies of the legends.
In this stance we had a bit of a bigger change happen. Demon Stance was in an awkward place because it was mechanically cool when you looked at it in a vacuum, but when you were put around other players there was this point of tension which was created. When using demon stance you wanted to manage your conditions and try to keep certain amounts on yourself to empower your skills.
I hate to kvetch about changes that haven’t had a chance to be put to the test, but I think the fix you needed was a lot simpler than what you had. Rather than taking away everything that made Mallyx unique, add this: F2 toggle skill (like Glint’s), no upkeep. While active, the Revenant is immune to allied condi cleanses. Or give it a minor upkeep and something like “burst of damage per condi on Rev” when toggle is disabled. I understand that Glint is supposed to be special, but I liked that I had some support from my other legend even if I wasn’t in that stance at the time; IMNSHO each legend should get an F2 skill (well, F2/F3, because you’d have two legends equipped, but…).
Otherwise, the changes look good, and all I have to say is “Set all Chronomancers to Time Warp, because 23rd Oct can’t come soon enough!”
"Defend the Tower" events automatically fail?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

After completing the Blighting Tree for the Ordinance Camp line, it always felt like the “Defend the Guard Tower” events were impossible; the veterans would just go to the center, and AoE everyone down. Tonight, I was lucky enough to get to one where there were a few people stationed already, and we were able to keep the veterans away from the tower. But on the last wave, the veteran ignored us…and ignored the tower and walked over to the cliff face….and the the tower collapsed anyways, and we failed.
Look, I get it, we have to fail at defending the towers for the chain to reset, but that’s a terrible way to do it. Give us a reasonable chance. Give us the opportunity to succeed. And then, when all three towers have either succeeded or been destroyed, Mordremoth looks at the ones that survived, says “fine, be that way, I was trying to do this on a budget but noooooooo you gotta defend the kitten things” and then pulls out something big and overkill to stomp it. We get to have our moment of victory, you get the guard towers destroyed like you want, and Mordremoth has to balance his budget because we keep making his big stompers do overtime. Fair enough?
Also, I hope Mordremoth gets a migraine from all the Mordrem Sylvari we keep curb-stomping. “I call upon the power of Mordremoth!” “Okay, I’ll sen you some…” “Mordremoth, hear my plea!” “Right, be with you in a mo-” “Mordremoth, answer your servant’s call!” “Look, I’m only one dragon, you’ll just have to wait your tu-” “Mordremoth, I need you!” “Look, take a number alrea-” “Mordremoth!” “Mordremoth!” “Mordremoth!”…I think he’ll be taking a vacation in Southsun Cove before we know it.
