Victory or Death: What a pathetic ending...

That said, I am totally expecting we will be ‘fighting’ Primordious in the traditional sense. If that one isn’t a Warrior I don’t know who is.

Maybe, but I think he’d have an elementalist secondary professon. Remember, he predates GW2, so he can have a secondary profession if he wants one. Secondaries didn’t go extinct until after the Eye of the North expansion.

And I SWEAR TO GOD if they give us another “throw rocks at the boss” battle I am going to be super irritated.

Please, not the super irritation! Spare us!

I do like your rewrite, though. I love the way we worked together with the members of Destiny’s Edge to get everyone out alive. And the floating hyenas were a nice touch!

GW1 skill system vs GW2 skill system

The very skill system that was the life of Guild Wars 1, also spelled the death of Guild Wars 1. Without the ability to balance the game, content became meaningless. Those who loved the minutiae of making very complex builds loved it. Casuals found it hard, and most people just want to PVx wiki for the build of the month. Getting into a pug group for elite content without the build of the month became ridiculously hard. You played with your guild, or not at all.

The balance issues continually plagued the game. Sabway, I-way, Imbagon Paragons, discord mesmers, 600 monks, spirit spammer solo farm builds were fun for some people. But other people disliked them immensely.

There’s a price you pay for variety in a game. And Guild Wars 1 started with less skills and added as it went. Guild Wars 2 will do the same thing. It will grow in complexity as time goes on.

It will NEVER get to the kind of complexity Guild Wars 1 got to. I don’t personally see this as a bad thing. I see this as a good thing.

Hair under headgear

Just a couple of generic alternate hair for each race which you get swapped to when you put on a helm would be fine. Mostly you just need the bangs to be accurate, and the hair just needs to cover your scalp inside the hood / helm so you don’t see skull if the camera angle is letting you peek under.

It wouldn’t work perfectly for all helms, but it would be a heck of a lot better than it is now, certainly.

This is essentially the solution I had in mind. It doesn’t have to be super complex and tailored to every single hairstyle available.
At the very least I just want my bangs, sideburns, and the back of the head (is there a term for that one?) to have some indication of hair existing.
I’d be fine with just 2 looks. Hair under helmet for those with hair, and our current bald look for characters that are actually bald. If Anet is really bold, they could go for three: Long helmet hair, short helmet hair, and bald helmet.

I think it would be possible to create a very patted down hair model to go under open helmets when they are put on. So long as the hair model is thin enough I don’t think it would clip with any of the helmets while providing just a little depth and realism to the hair (In other words its not simply a flat texture).

Edit: I can see this being more difficult for Sylvari though as all of their hairsyles consist of different leaves and such. But I’m sure Anet can use a little imagination to come up with a solution to that one.

More Mounting Mayhem

I applied my considerable creative talent to the development of Tyrian mounts. The following is a list of racial specific mounts. You are welcome.

Human

Humans mounts are an item, specifically two coconut halves. When equipped, a human avatar begins prancing forward while clapping the coconut halves together. The mount does not give a speed boost and prevents the avatar from attacking but limits all damage received to flesh-wounds. The human mount can be upgraded with different gates, possibly funny walks.

Asuran

Asurans mount themselves. With practice, asurans can jump-flip with enough torque to fly up their own behinds. When activated, an asuran avatar would disappear up their behind and then reappear somewhere randomly in the zone. The Asuran mount can be upgraded with different sound effects.

Norn

Norn mounts are stationary kegs that the avatar straddles. The Norn mount can be upgraded with levels of inebriation. Would you prefer your avatar fall to the left or to the right?

Charr

Charr mounts are catapults. When activated the avatar is hurled through the air. Charr mounts are lethal to the user, but do provide the chance to admire the Tyrian landscape from a new perspective. Charr mounts can be upgraded to hurl the avatar farther.

Sylvari

Syvari mounts are woodpeckers. When activated the player looses all control over the Sylvari avatar as it is chased around by a woodpecker to the Benny Hill chase theme song. Sylvari mounts are upgraded with more woodpeckers.

Asura Gates need their names on the Mini-Map

I’m a pretty new player but I find it annoying and kinda strange that Asura Gates don’t have their destinations listed on the Map. Every Gate is just called “Asura Gate”. Is there a specific reason it is this way?

I found it a bit annoying when I followed a friend to Lion’s Arch (my first time going there) and he told me to meet him at the Gate to the Human settlement of Divinity’s Reach. So naturally I got lost trying to find it in a city with something like 15 gates. Then when he were at the right platform he couldn’t even remember which Gate it was and my friend had to run up and down the 5 ramps until he found the one with the Human’s standing by it.

Sure, I guess, after time we’ll remember where each gate is eventually, but its just a bit of an inconvenience that its not labelled on the Map. Even Carrots, Onions, Potatoes, etc, are all listed so why not Asura Gates?
