Yeah I’m kinda the same way with my alts, but my problem is after a day or two of playing an alt, I just end up missing my engineer. This is kinda why I was thinking about getting predator instead of meteorlogicus. I would consider my Mesmer my second main, and I do enjoy it allot, but it doesn’t have that same feeling as engineer for me.

I’m almost done with the materials you need universally throughout all legendaries and its come down to me finally picking which one I want. I’ve been planning on meteorlogicus on mesmer this entire time but engineer is my main and its the class I truly have the most fun on. However I’m afraid if I go for predator (the only legendary for engi I like) that I wouldn’t see it all that much because I use kits primarily and only use rifle in rotations and would see it in towns.

Anybody get a legendary and think its worth it for engineer?

Also wondering if Arenanet was planning on changing backpack skins based on legendaries in the future?

Kinda wish they would give us backpack skins based on T3 Cultural Weapons and Legendary Weapons. That way you could have a skin for every race/and or a super awesome legendary.

There isn’t enough sexy clothes for males in this game, town clothes or armor. It makes me sad

Yeah the shorts are pretty bad, I don’t understand the flaps in the front in back or why the bottom of the shorts puff out. I would have actually liked a pair of shorts, assuming they were normal everyday kinda shorts.

I do however like the tops on the females. Particularly the Ornate Shirt.

I have the same exact issue recently and its driving me insane, only I"m using nvidia card.

+1 I hate having a lovely set of armor on my Sylvari and then I have this hobo packpack that my character could fit in slung accross my back.

Arenanet, if you can’t give us skins, atleast reduce their size until you can give us skins. They don’t NEED to be that big.

Not the final armor I plan to have but I just got to 80 today on her so just am going to hold her off with rares until I get my funds back up from crafting her to 80. I love Mesmer, she will technically be my second one but I deleted my first because while I love Asura their weapons are toooooo tiny Plan on getting legendaries on my Mesmer and didn’t want tiny weapons lol.

I lol’ed because it was funny, then I Q.Q’ed a bit because it was all true. I really do keep making alts to try other classes but like clockwork I’m back on my Engi by the next week.

I think all my favorite moments with Engineer also deal with CC in WvW. I love engi so much lol. Also, I love us for Jumping puzzles, rifle is OP in jumping puzzles. It so funny to hear my guild mates curse at me in mumble every time I jump shot somewhere and they can’t.

I’m at the point in the game where I want to get a legendary and I have been leveling a necro on the side because I want metoerlogicus. However, since engi is my main, I feel bad not getting predator on her (i don’t like shield or pistol legendary).

I was wondering though, if I swap to a kit (like grenades) does the glow effect and footsteps stay with me or do they only appear with the Predator out.

I feel like I would never see it except with skill rotations.

You clicked PvP on the items? That means player vs. player, meaning you just made that armor pvp only armor. You can wear it in the mist (click cross-swords on upper left hand screen). It seems like you wanted it in PvE, which can no longer be done. You may be able to send in a ticket and tell them you made a mistake.

However I would not recommend transmuting that armor at such a low level because you will need to purchase transmutation stones if you want to keep that look while you level. Please read here for more information about transmuting items: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Transmutation

Thanks for the input everybody. Think I’m going to go with Mesmer. I played Mesmer for years in GW1 (I know they are different though) but didn’t play around with it much in Gw2 because of my Engi love. I also think that Mesmer of all the playstyles listed by you guys is probably the closest to what I would enjoy playing. Thanks for all the detailed descriptions!

I know these four classes can use the scepter guys, truly I have read the wiki. However I hear the scepter is not considered viable for most of them. I want to know which class can use it viably. As in, it can be used without gimping me because there is better out there.

Seeing the skills scepters use does not help me at all. I can read just fine, it does not tell me the viability of each weapon for the classes that use them. I want a class that can actually USE the scepter if I’m gonna get a legendary of it.

Hey everybody, my main is Engineer and its gotten to the point where I want a legendary. However I don’t find legendary all that worth it for Engineer (I use kits allot) and to be honest I’m not a huge fan of the predator.

I REALLY love the legendary Meteorlogicus (the scepter). Even though it received no love from arenanet last legendary patch. However I currently do not have any classes to 80 that use scepter. I was wondering what classes, besides guardian, would get any use out or if its considered a sub-par weapon compared to everything else.

Or is guardian the only class that really gets a true use out of it?

You get an item upon char creation that is account bound that will take you to the old hall of monuments, you can charm it there.

Happens to me ALL the time, I sell allot of items after after the 5th or 6th one I get this error, then I just wait x amount of time and go about selling the rest. Somebody told me it was an anti-bot thing so I swallowed my dislike for this error and hoped maybe one day they would be less OMG NO YOU CAN’T SELL THAT SO FAST one day.

I don’t remember the exact level it all clicked for me but I wanna say the class felt very fluid to me around lvl 20 or so. I knew from then on based it was the class for me because it felt so diverse.

In terms of, wow this is playing so much better now, lvl 60 when I could have the traits I wanted. Traits really do make a world of difference.

I’ll say the 20 mark is also when I realized that this was the class that fit me best. I often get bored of playing one style that I was a super altaholic in other games because I felt like I was stuck to doing one thing, just taking advantage of the motions and builds. Now when I feel bored or I just change my kits and adjust traits and its like an entire new class. I cannot touch any other class now because of how much engineer just suits me in comparison.

Well I think I saw awhile back where somebody posted active times based on hour of different servers, but that was weeks ago so idk if it would be accurate anymore. However if you find it again you could transfer to a server that better suits your playing times.

Also keep in mind, probably in the next few months (hopefully sooner) guesting will be up and running and you can guest to an EU server whose peak times better match your own playing times.

Until then the best you can do is actively look for a guild that states their playtimes are your play times.

This a million times over. I love longcoats, I do, but seriously that is all there is. Longcoats….as far as the eye can see. Only 2-3 differ from that and like 2 of those is cultural armor. Its a serious step backwards in terms of armor design even when compared to GW1.

I get kinda mad when I see light armor classes sporting all these amazing looking outfits and my poor Engineer is stuck with longcoats. Please release more armor designs soon, and please PLEASE no more longcoats, we have plenty.

I’m not saying that all of it needs to be revealing leather (but you should atleast make a few like that), but just enough with the longcoats already.

They need to fix kits and balance them out before adding weapons. Tool kit has allot of potential for melee engineers but is so terrible.

This is actually pretty much how I am. I played Aion and some other MMO’s 4 hours a day atleast for the last several years, all while anticipating GW2. I have GW2 now, having an absolute blast, but at most I’m on an hour, maybe 2 a day. Not playing any other games atm, just school and other rl activities. (prolly will change when Black OPs 2 comes out)

I don’t have the stress of gear grind, I can pvp my heart out without the worry that my gear isn’t up to date. The game is very fun, but its also made me realize the gear grind was more of a stress for me than anything. I’m more happy that its gone, now the only grind is for cosmetic goodies that can off how awesome you are in a purely cosmetic way.

I think kits need a ton of work. I think Arenanet should really take a look at kits and balance each one out. I don’t think Grenades should get nerfed though, unless they allow weapon stats to effect kits (could see it being OP then).

I think turrets need some work as well imo but elixirs are pretty solid.

The amount of uses the mortar has are extremely, and i mean EXTREMELY limited. Its not a total piece of crap but as it stands right now it has no place being an elite skill. Think that is why there is so much outrage. The only uses I have found for it are in WvW, but even the uses there are limited.

I agree with several post. Arenanet should just make it so that keeping the button held down makes the grenades flow continuously till you stop holding it. I don’t agree with making grenade 1 on land like it is underwater like some suggestions. That would make us lose some good WvW wall fighting dps.

Ranger can do this with spirit elite, this is not an engineer only trick.

I think costume slots were one of the better ideas GW1 had, but I can see why they got rid of them for some additional income.

Would love more armor cosmetics and better town clothes. Another suggestion for town clothes is to have an option to automatically wear them in town, then in one of the blank slots put a speed buff (only available while in town though). Would give people more incentive to wear their town clothes.

Ironically it was like, from the very first mystic chest I ever opened. This was pre-update but I’m sure you can still get them. Every chest I’ve opened after of course has been utter crap.

Personally? I think fair price for soulbound perma items would be fair price of ~800 gems, but I would pay up to 1200, I use the trade broker that much. If they were account bound, which I doubt would ever happen, easily double that.

Well they had to come up with a short turn solution to getting rid of the flood of materials on the market in terms of Chest. So perhaps the limit is to help subdue the problem. I think its logical, annoying, but logical.

keys are not worth buying, not at their current price anyway. I would however love it if Arenanet put the permanent versions of the BL merchant, trade post, etc. in the store. Make them higher cost (like 800 or so gems) and make them soulbound (not account bound, so they can make more money). Would guarantee I would spend more money on those for my main and perhaps an alt or two in the future then I ever will on any RNG chest key.

Or if permanent is too much, sell 15 or 30 day versions of these in the store. Not joking I would totally buy Trading Post access all my gw2 career XD

Its a toss up between human and norn. Female humans get an armor that has underboob action going on, while female norn get Eir’s armor, which shows bits of skin here and there and is form fitting.

Sylvari’s armor is form fitting but doesn’t show anything, but has some awesome glow, its Caithe’s armor if your curious to what it looks like.

I don’t have the armor yet but I dye my T1 armor and preview T3 to see what it would look like, (I’m medium set) and it looks pretty awesome actually. I have every dye in the game on my Engi, there is several other colors despite coloring it one thing but they all compliment. The only disappointing thing I’m finding is you can’t dye it a true white.
