Wow very disappointing. Not only did you skip one of the best maps “Foefire” you are putting spirit watch again. I hope this means you fixed all the terrain bugs and OP tank running.

Can’t imagine why people like Spirit watch or Khylo. Best maps by far IMO is FoeFire, Temple and Niflhel

I was going to try and switch from NA to EU since the PvP takes for ever to pop for 2-Team games and for 8-Team it almost NEVER. Tried waiting for over and hour and a half and nothing.

Now when I want to transfer they want to charge me a ridiculous 1800 gems. I love how they set up this horrific cost AFTER they stopped giving gems for PvP or soon after. And even if they did give us the gems back it would still take me forever to farm that up. I’m definitely not going to invest anymore money into this game. They already swindled me into paying money for things in this game by feeding me BS like they are gonna make this game this and that and blah blah blah. Useless patch after useless patch.

God I hope this doesn’t mean it’s time to quit this game. Your call ANet.

8-man is absolutely dead right now. We sat in the que for over an hour till we said forget it.
Spirit is kitten . The Orb is way too important and easy to get it and cap. So much for nerfing tanks huh anet? And where was the AOE damage nerfs? and where were the warrior buffs? And where was the BIG Feb PvP patch? oh right there was none.

Throw Spirit watch away. To many terrain bugs/issue but great way to show case how OP your Tanking specs are. Only map I absolutly hate. I would rather Khylo and that map has horrible jumping puzzles…are jumping puzzles how this game is going to become competitive?

Well, they’ve been studiously ignoring player arguments since BWE1, I wouldn’t get your hopes up. I think the best we can hope for is the abysmal sPVP participations rates precipitate a change in the members of the design team.

Okay, I understand. I agree that there are a lot of variables when it comes to how strong each profession is overall. You seem to have your own list, though, so I didn’t think you’d mind if I referenced a list put together by other players. I’ve just never met anyone with your opinion so I was wondering if there was anyone else who thought the same way.

Ty for being so understanding and nice about it. I also understand that if a list comes out and it looks good it might be great. While I don’t agree with the list there is some truth to the fact that Ele is top tier. I am just saying don’t put all your beliefs in one post by one guy. There are a lot of people that agree with me and there are also people that agree with that other post but there are also people in between. My suggestion is to play what you like…but be aware that you will most likely come across some build that demolishes and you might need to switch builds/comps/classes accordingly. There is a meta for a reason and the meta is ever changing the more people dissect this game and the more patches they drop.

Mesmer – I never would hit 5 with it but the fact that they spent the time to nerf that and not work to make other classes better is beyond me. As far as obstruct what do you mean, because I am not obstructed by other players. In your setting you can check a box to walk through people. You must not have seen the new comp that consists of necro/engi/ranger/guard/ele of course they have to be good at the game but once you face that you will understand why I wouldn’t chose a mesmer over these.

Guardian – Allowing them to move while casting is not a bug fix its a rework of the skill because they didn’t like them stopping movement while casting staff 5 and they others were buffs. One of the only bug fixes was the staff heal which I didn’t player till now so I never ran into the bug.

Engi – I can tell you have not faced any decent engis in tournies. I can stream for you if you want to show you the good engis in the higher rated ques.

Ele – I wouldn’t say they are considered the best but the most diverse. They are great at tanking, dps, healing, CC, etc.

Fair enough. I was speaking from a strict balance perspective—i.e. rangers have 2 great builds so they’re “top-tier.” Certainly, it would be much better if all professions had 6 really great builds. But again, I was only referring to balance. I also agree thieves need more interesting and varied gameplay, but again, I was referring only to balance.

Which top engies would you like me to see? I’ve never crossed over to EU so I’ve never played against Teldo, but I believe I’ve at least seen most other top engies. They mostly agree that HGH/nades condi is a better build than 100nades, though. Also, I agree with you that they are better than the 7th best profession, but it seems you find them clearly the strongest profession. I’ve never met anyone who thinks that, so I was wondering why.

I’ll agree with you about build diversity, but I don’t think this was supposed to be a big build diversity patch.

In general though they need to spend more time with the notes and explain the specifics more. Also they need to not lose the patch notes like a 5 year old…

Mesmer – Nerf Nerf Nerf…thats what I saw. Portal is now countered by just standing on it….THAT DOES NOT TAKE SKILL. Mind Stab only hits 3 targets…MIND STAB was never good in the first place. It stopped you from moving. Mirror was never a good heal in the first place and giving 1 more sec to reflection will not change it. Mesmers are still a 1 build class for teams and now we have less reason to take them because of nerfs.

It seems you have misread all the mesmer changes.

Portal can’t be used to exploit walls anymore.
i.e Put 2 portals on top of eachother pop onto the other side of a wall.
*The only thing changed for portals.

Mindstab is the sword 1hander auto attack. and this was a buff.

Torch was made useable, and actually my favorite weapon at the moment.
Minor touch ups for weapons which were just unpolished and bad but no real changes to offhand sword + Scepter.

All in all, please reread the patch notes or a consult a mesmer near you

These are some pretty odd expectations for balance changes. Warriors need changes, I’ll give you that, but I’m not sure where you’re going with any of the other professions:

—Thieves are sitting good as a mid-tier profession in tournaments and are still way too much of a noobstomp profession in hotjoins and WvW to consider buffing. They’re still used by good tournament teams as well.
—Rangers are still sitting great as a top-tier profession in tournaments and have at least two tournament-viable builds.
—Necro axe has needed a huge buff for a long time and this probably wasn’t enough.
—Players can’t obstruct other players, so portal is unaffected by that. I’m impressed that you expect to hit more than three targets with mind stab in PvP. Mesmers are still top-tier in tournaments.
—Guardians received some bugfixes.
—You seem to have trouble fighting engineers. They’re generally considered one of the worst three professions, although I’ll agree that they’re better than most people give them credit for. I haven’t seen them called OP since last August.
—Ele sustain was nerfed pretty directly. Eles will still be very good and will probably maintain their position as the widely-accepted “best” profession.

Then it’s worse then I thought. I don’t think they realize they depend on people like us for jobs. If I see a game with this games company or people that worked on this game in the credits I will be less likely to buy it at this point.

This patch was not the works of a well known company nor was it worth saying it was in the right direction.

Warriors – are still the same and trying to make them condi is stupid to say the least. And if that was you intention it is horrible compared to other condi classes. None of these changes help Warriors. We are still outclassed and out picked by other/better choice for teams. Die hard warriors think different only until they get demolished over and over by condi classes. Buff Warriors for a change.

Thief – are still the same. None of these changes help Thiefs.

Ranger – are still the same. None of these changes help Rangers. We only took a minor hit from the condi removal nerf and still are using only 1 or 2 builds.

Necro – Still need to do more testing with Necro but as a whole they were always strong in team comps but this patch didn’t do much except tease people to try power build again when condi build is way more survivable and does more damage in the long term and is best for the current meta.

Guardian – So I guess you want teams to be more tanky…sad Guardians got a nice buff but they were already really strong. Use the time to work on your broken classes.

Engis never really needed it to demolish other burst builds or most build in general. Engi condi damage and survivability is kitten amazing. Don’t nerf them instead buff other classes to this OP state.

Ele – Still very strong and you did nothing really to the tanky builds…

In general I am very disappointed with the patch. Stop wasting your time with these lack-luster mini buff and nerf and rework them if they need it. I want to be able to play more than 1 or 2 build with each class. I get so bored playing the same shiz over and over. You have had SOOOOOOOO long to get this game going but you are still wasting your time with PvE which will never hold this game over like PvP can. Look at all E-sports…I don’t see PvE games in there… Other games that are in ALPHA and BETA have more pvp content flowing and they already have E-Sports support programs…spectator to name one of MANY. Fix the game or it will go from 200 viewers watching to 5 because anyone that streams will leave to a better game.

If a game came out right now that would have this games mechanics I would leave in a heartbeat because there is nothing keeping me here beside that I love this type of combat.

You will be expected to know your role depending on the classes you play. You getting on the team will depend on you knowing the mechanics, positioning, focusing, calling CC out, etc. And of course you being nice and humble.

Times may change as time goes by and the night off may as well.

You see what you want to see instead of the facts. You haven’t beat any decent team in quite some time and it’s sad that you continually lose people to play with because of your attitude.

so for the last hour for the first time in my life i watched WOW on twitch. i have never played WOW or watched any pvp before because most of you know im a console player and am new to pc.

but after playing and watching Guild Wars 2 i truly and 100% utterly believe Guild Wars 2 is better in every way. the game mode we have is way better the game last longer. its easier to understand whats going on. (could be easier if i played WOW maybe)

All I wanted was to see if there were any EU teams that wanted to come over for a week and practice since there are free server transfers and because not everyone sleeps and wakes at the same time.

Sry sir but you are mistaken and are just following what other say.

If there are more players in EU playing paids that mean a good team can play nothing but bad teams and have zero competition in a tournament. That can happen quite a bit on EU. There is no matchmaking/rating. Therefore, NA having a low numbers of teams will always have to fight one of the best teams in the game EVERY tournament.
I hope to not see a silly post like this again. Think before you type. Do you even play paids?

I understand what you are saying be I think they should weed out all those bugs you speak of FIRST. Then address reworking classes because some classes need some rework. First bring up other builds to the same lvl at the good ones. I could say a lot more but a lot have already commented on this and theorycrafted.

Also, many players have already learned how to deal AND counter this. It is not a big issue for anyone I know. It can be a little bursty but it keeps it exciting. If it was truely OP you would see nothing but a quickness comp but you don’t. EVEN if they were to make such a thing it is counter-able. If it was OP we wouldn’t know how to deal with it but we can deal with it.

Give it some time and you all will learn to deal/counter it.

FYI most of the burst builds you see in Hot-join 8v8s are not that great in 5v5 tournaments.
Fix Bugs then address these issues again. I love Quickness and believe it adds more depth and skill need to use/counter this. Don’t subtract things from the game because then it gets boring from lack of diversity.

I DO NOT think NA is better than EU and vice versa. So get that out of your head.

I was able to talk to some people on the EU servers and found out that Paids pop 2x-3x more. Based on it popping 3 times more that means you have 3 times the people, which also means you have 3 times the chances to have better and worse teams.

AGAIN, I don’t think EU is better than NA and vice versa.

On NA servers we have a few (3-4) good teams and 1-2 great teams. And then they que almost every night. We also have a couple random teams testing the paids out. First it does not end well for them and second it is usually the same teams winning paids. They go back and forth but in general the 2 or so best teams share 1 place. I hope that made sense…Anyways

Being that we are always facing the same teams every night its like dedicated practice teams. Here comes the CONTROVERSIAL part so hold on to something.

Being that we are always practicing against better players, the good players that haven’t quit the game yet, would that make us better players/teams?

This isn’t an argument more of an invitation to EU players to cross over the sea of shining seas to NA. It would be a lot of fun to practice vs the best of EU and see where we stand.

Also it would mean we would have more paids popping which everyone can appreciate. Lastly I don’t think you would have lag issue I have several buddy’s from Europe and Asia that are on the NA server and they never complain about lag. One less reason not to come. And you can go back to EU a week later.

I apologize to anyone I may have offended as it was not my intention. I just want to be the best team player as I can and be able to do paids more. We need more peeps over on NA.

I speak for many people when I say we need more gear. We want gear that makes us Oooo and Ahhhhh.

League of legends charges up to crazy amounts for some of their skins but of course it involves new voices and some, like the Ezreal skin, get cooler as you lvl.

What I am asking you to consider is to give us amazing gear that we can’t stop farming to get…OR buy. The Legendary gear from PvE is amazing and I want those in PvP. I would pay $5 or the equivalent in gems for that skin. Perhaps increasing the cost to buy it with gems “JUST A TAD” so that people are more likely to buy it with real money. But don’t go crazy with the overcharging. There are going to be a lot of people that can’t afford to buy the extras like that so giving us a way to earn it through game currency would be good as well. DO NOT MAKE A NEW CURRENCY. I believe Gems would be the best

Guys give Sat a break this game is all he has. He spends the majority of his wasted life on this game and has to resort to unmoral ways to make 3rd in NA. Its hard work to help make so-so teams so he can faceroll them. Its hard to get 3rd in NA when there is no real competition except 1 or 2 teams, which aren’t on all the time or aren’t in the same que as him a lot of the time. He’s got it hard. I mean I know QP’s don’t matter or that he only has half the QP’s that a lot of EU players have but like I said it’s hard work.

I go by Apollo and I am looking for a serious PvP team. It must be a dedicated team who is and has been practice a whole bunch. I have been and currently am practicing 8+ hours a day. I used to be on a serious team till it fell apart like so many other teams.

My best classes are Thief and Warrior, but since I have been playing so much I can play all classes with great skill. My most practiced role is that of Roamer and partial Roamer. The 4 classes I like the most are Warrior, Ele, Engi, and Thief though I would be willing to play what is needed.

My Goal is to play competitively and attend real tournaments when they finally make this game an Esport. I am ready for a serious team with serious goals. I am 25 and I prefer mature teams.
