so frankie your server condemns exploiting . yet at this moment we have video of YOUR servers players killing our seige IN our keep from UNDER GROUND. really sad you guys have the a huge zerg force due to time differences and can cap all maps yet you still have to exploit. Really sad.
So report them for kittensake!! Send the screenshots to Anet and stop QQing here, it does nothing for anyone. You act as if we want them here. Like i said, the large majority of us condemn it. Stop labeling an entire server for the actions of a few who obviously don’t care about WvW or the server their on. We don’t want them either.
Not sure if you fartsniffers are trolling or not after i just explained my position in my previous post. Once again, have a Happy Holidays and let’s let this "x server is exploting, qq kitten go already.
Lol Ansorin, I’d advice you ignore the QQer(s) who kitten(s) too much about the actions of a few to condemn the whole server. You’ll just tire yourself out. Anyways, wish EA a merry Christmas, and all the other guilds in all the servers (even those without a guild). Be safe, be fed and be merry. See you guys on the battlefield…in a few days

Roughneck – when most of my health is gone before i even see them (because of culling), there is no way to beat them – unless i’m a bunker guardian/elementalist, which i am not.
Clearly A-net intend to do nothing about the imbalance issues in the game.
The whole point of my original post is that we’re now seeing stealther mini-zergs – this is not a good sign.
I agree with the majority of your argument. I play a thief, and there are some “unbalanced” things with the class. The culling, combined with stealth gives the illusion of being perma-stealth (for the most part).
I disagree, however, with your second point. Do you really believe that the company/developer does not intend to do anything? Really? Do you think it’s that easy to just re-write codes that would change the dynamics of such a complicated game? Very rarely does a huge, amazing game (like this) comes out of production perfect—about that which the consumers have complaints. We can only wait, and with that said, they can only do so much on their end. I’m not saying they’re working like little elves in Santa’s factory the week before Christmas, but they are not sitting on their kitten But yes, there are some aspects about the thief class that needs some readjustments.
Overflows aren’t just for a dumping ground for WvW goers during a reset or a build. People are also directed into an overflow when your home server’s map (in this case, or almost all cases, Lions Arch) has reached maximum capacity.
Firstly, I’d just like to say hello again to Magumma. It’s been a while since we’ve had some battles, and I look forward to this week. Hello to Yak’s Bend, I hope that our servers have a great week fighting. Christmas is around the corner, so our servers may have a decrease in presence due to families and the festivities. With all that said, let’s have a great week! I look forward to learning from both servers!
Although, technically (with tedious, lucrative look at the detail), the “act” of “transferring” prints falls under the domain of abuse, in my opinion, it isn’t an exploit—nor should it even be considered abuse. As have been stated already, dropping prints for others to use allows for efficiency in WvW. I don’t see why it would be ban-able to share your prints amongst your allies (commanders, usually, are those with whom people share their prints). If you’ve got the prints, but don’t know how to use them or where to place them, why can’t one pass it to someone who does know? That said, I do hope that the Devs come forward with some sort of official word.
This week has been extremely fun—not to mention frustrating and exciting. BP’s numbers are large, and they’re a very tough server. DH has always been strong, even with guilds transferring out. The match up is far from over, so I hope no one (from any server) jumps the gun. Let’s keep fighting hard—I know DB will. Once the Asian crew logs on, I hope they fight even harder than the NA crew so that DB can pull a little further away.
@ Evilzara, we’re not in the safe zone just yet. We’ve got some quite a ways to go. You guys sure are extremely tough, coordinated and overall just fun to battle with. Win or lose, we should all take the last hour of the week to do some battles in EB, 1v1 duels or 2v2. Just get some fun in before any server moves up/down. I’ll bring the drinks!
+1 Internets. Excellent argument. Well presented.
Are there any unrelated third-parties willing to confirm the math?
Now, where again is that silly little design manifesto?
I can confirms that his maths are correct.
1 Yakk every 5 minutes, = 12 yakks per 60 minutes
12 yakks per hour, = 288 yakks per day
288 yakks per day = 2016 yakks per week
2016 yakks per week = 104,823 per year
Which is approximately 10 years, and lets assume you don’t sleep, eat, work or have a life. Speaking of which, with such a lifestyle you would probably die of starvation after 1 month. That’s if the sleep deprivation doesn’t kill you first.
I, too, did the math. You’re both correct. However (lol) there was news during the launch of Diablo 3 that a player died after playing the game 3 straight days—without food, rest, anything. So a month is way too generous! hahah
Wooden spikes to slow down enemies near your territories (or not, really just for show..but it’s fun)
You can play any profession that appeals to you. Seriously.
Barnaby Malong left out two classes completely.
Oh dear..how do I forget two classes -.- haha woops! Glad you caught that :S
Bone, dry basics:
Like playing up close?
- Warrior
- Thief
The warrior is your run of the mill dps/tank (depending on how you trait and gear it) it can have a high dmg output and good defense, good health. Or it can have good dmg output, high hp/defense. Depending on your play style, set it up as you see fit.
The thief…this is where it gets tricky. There’ve been a lot of flames about their being Over Powered. There are two types of thieves that people tend to choose: Glass Cannons or Survivor (for the lack of name). GCs have high burst dmg, which can have a critical hit of about 14k (yes this is possible). But they tend to be squishy. Survivors have…as the name would suggest, more survivability. They tend to have high hp, and good burst dmg. Probably what people love about thieves is the fact that their 1-5 skills have very little to no cool down. So it’s easy to spam stuff. I could go on and on about the greatness that are the thieves, but I’m biased. And it would not be a “general” overview.
Like playing from afar?
- Ranger
- Elementalist
I’m not too much of an expert, but these ranged classes offer high dmg and can attack multiple targets at once. AoE, etc. General description…I suppose
A ‘hybrid’ of both?
- Engineers
- Guardians
At the most general level, these classes offer great support to parties. Engineers can help regenerate hp of allies, guardians can help similarly.
As for the race….if you want to be immersed in a ton of players to help you find the rhythm of the game, I’d suggest human or norn. There’s a bunch of players who tend to choose those two races, so you can find your groove there.
On your Hero’s menu (H), go to the achievements tab and there should be a drop where you can choose a title.
HOWEVER, I’m not sure what’s going on, but I’ve unlocked a lot of other titles, but I can’t seem to find them.
Typical BP. How about you worry about your current match-up.
BTW. who’s winning your match ?
-K
Not Borlis…. hehe 8-O
currently we are in the lead by about 15k points, its like 45k to 30k to 25k last time i checked, us in 1st, DB in second, and DH in third, DB have a great crew while we are asleep though, makes me a bit worried, even though we managed to pull back after last night.
8:25 PST
BP 44935 +340
DB 33054 +140
DH 24253 +215
Nope, its not exploit. You are the wrong one in this case because you try to go to their spawn point.
Lets say abusing game mechanic: it means zerg vs zerg is abusing game mechanic (5 man cap) or if there are 6 people in red circle, it is considered abusing game mechanic (5 man cap). But is it ?But yeah, we lack a tool to report a hacker or exploiter (funny thing botter is there)
My only problem with this is that some people manage to find a way to set up siege within their locked zone and use it to attack nearby towers/keeps. And while we can attack their siege weapons, the said enemies can attack us and remain invulnerable. Rinse and repeat with siege deployment and you have an exploit of placing siege in glitch spots that leaves them invulnerable. While I agree that their invulnerability minimizes (to a point) spawn camping, there should be some two-way street that avoids siege deployment within a locked zone. But I do agree with your point.
My take on WvW gear is a declination. Although I like the idea of PvP gear, that system should be limited to sPvP. My stand on WvW is to throw three servers in an imbalance, as Christos had mentioned. WvW is the wild west of the game; if you’ve got the best gear, that’s the place for it. Otherwise, grinding for your gear will be pointless as you only get the “best” and exotic gears towards end-game. Once that’s done, you’re left with nothing else to run around in with your gear. There has to be a place to show off and play in your own gear against other players—and that’s WvW. Just my two cents.
A couple things affect your decision, and ultimately, the server. As a commander myself, I know enough that when things are going smoothly on a map, I keep my tag off. Your guild’s commander should know when to throw the tag on, or when to keep it off. Guild loyalty will play a big role in your decision. Although there are many potentially great commanders out there, if they won’t be loyal to your guild, there’s no point in promoting them. You should evaluate your trusted officers; if they fit the loyalty criteria, move on to another aspect: leadership. As stated before, the commander should be aware at all times of what’s going on in the map. Personality also plays a factor. If he/she likes to yell and boss people around, chances are people will get annoyed. So a great commander will have the respective personality, what ever that may be.
If I were in your position, I would consider, first and probably inclusively, your most trusted officers—those who’ve been in the guild before and during (or soon after) that launch. Also, have your candidates shadow some commanders on the map. Have them see what the commanders are doing wrong and what they’re doing right. If they can see the problem and find a way to a solution, then short list them to your final decision..
No matter the case, I wish you best of luck in finding a commander! It is a great honor; it’s just a shame that there are too many icons out there with very little knowledge on the dynamics of the WvW system.
I have been participating in WvW lately. With our group we offten have between 5-15 players.
Now i know we have commanders with nice blue arrow mark on them. But what about other leaders?Whoever played any other MMO will probably know how
1) marking in groups is working. Its so simple, you put some specific mark on your leader. Therefore you can see him anywhere in big fights.
2) As a leader im missing information about my second party. I see only 5 blue dots on my minimap. But im playing with more players. For that i would like to see party UI improvements and probably instead of 5 as maximum to increase it to 20 as maximum. That would help any organization of smaller but also bigger guilds.
Im not sure if these were discussed somewhere else (probalby many times allready) but is there any official anwer to this ? Will we see improvements?
On a similar note, I’d actually like to see squad dots on the map (whichever map you or a commander is on). It’d be nice, personally speaking as a commander with the blue icon, to see the people who are following your squad on the map. That way you could keep an eye on where your people are. That could be a suggestion for improvement.
The only problem I have with a 20-person party is that amount of space it’ll take up on your screen. I’d like to see a bigger sized party, but 20 may be too large? Just conjecture, thoughts, etc.
Hey amanj, these titles come from your achievements. ie: if you resurrect an X amount of players, you get the healer title. Kill enough players, Gladiator. There are many titles out there; although, I’m not sure whether or not you can freely select titles you’ve uncovered.
