13k backstab, one in a million (and post patch its usually 3 – 5k), on 20 – 25k health. Sup.
Does that mean thieves should be ranting and complaining about anyone who achieves a 3.5k or 4k crit? because we are working with half the health most other classes are.
Roll one, play it. And be realistic.
The OP is nuts. 13k backstab. One in a million. And they spent the rest of the match getting absolutely kittenslapped because you say ‘boo’ and they fall over.
Posts like this are annoying. Before you post ‘stealth is op’ or ’backstab lolz is op. Go roll a thief. Build it anyway you like, and tell me how long you last versus… oh I dont know… anyone?
Tell me how many times you die IN stealth, from incidental aoe, or get one shot by a cleave attack, trying to compete on a node.
oh while your there, tell me how many 13k backstabs you get. While you do, We’ll tell you have many 3k backstabs we get (far more realistic)
Thief has never been harder to play and survive. You need the reflexes of a sleek jungle cat, and nerves of steel. High risk, average reward.
Thieves are so broken right now. Theres a reason most are running around with pistols post 15th. lol

I just really wish grenades workd on land, as thy do underwater. The aoe would be just As strong, using the splash damage that already exists. Is silly not to have an auto attack, I frequently see the same Complaint as you have made.
Most people are Already running macros if capible. anet really needs to be aware of this and instead of penalizing, adapting.
Can you please tweak general survivability in pvp, or burst skills? I’m sick of dying in 2 seconds, unless I run anything but a full toughness build.
AND please address the flamethrower. Outside Dynamic events (which they are outshon by grenades). It is utter garbage. Equip it in pvp, and its like saying "hey kill me first, I’m kitten
DO something about the burst, or suviviability in general. No one likes dying in seconds (beyond reaction time) To shatter mesmers, or backstab thieves.
For what its worth. I was one of the few rank 12+ people in guild wars 1, and I’m a multi glad in wow. This is getting silly.
Address these issues fast , please.
EDIT: Please fix thieves. its really kittening annoying. Steal hits for far too much for a utility spell, and cloak and dagger does the same. Follow this kitten combo with a heartseeker and its gg against anyone not running FULL defensive stats.
I realize, block, block dodge, all that crap. It’s not viable when you’re engaged already in combat, or trying to defend a node.
Realistically you could strip thief damage by 50% and the class would still remain one of the best in any pvp situation.
Balance this kitten, it’s getting old.
I cant tell you how frustrating it is, to be in a really engaging skill based fight, only to have it end, because some stepchild, introduces the homing missile that is heartseeker into the mix. Its a kittening kitten design, and skill. Rework it already.

Rangers are incredibly weak right now in pvp. They rely on auto attack because every other skill tied to the shortbow is about control, movent, or debuffs. number 1, crossfire is the only direct reliable damage skill.
That and
the longbow is kittening awful.
Anyone telling you otherwise is terrible, and thinks too highly of themselves.
Bad heals, talent points split into too many trees(why must you group condition damage with power In one tree, and critical damage In another, and precision in another? It’s bad synergy.
To survive half a second against some classes burst you need to go all out defensive, on any class, but then struggle to kill anything. I really hope anet is actively playing pvp, because it’s so backwards at the moment.

I was surprised and disappointed to see we couldn’t use rifles. The ranger ideally dh old be able to utilize most, if not all ranged weapons. It only makes sense.
So my original assumptions are correct? currently running and or gearing for conditions, from a dynamic event standpoint, isn’t worth it?
I’d really appreciate a definitive answer from areanet in regards to this. And that’s not to undermine you Rhyse. I’d just like to be certain.
I have a quick question, that I know has been discussed, however I’ve never seen a definitive answer.
If I’m running a conditions based build on my ranger during large scale dynamic events and there’s already 25 stacks of say bleeding on the target, do I get credit at all for my condition damage?
I understand why there is a cap in place, and it does make perfect sense, however I’d hate to be penalized for a running a build, in terms of gold medal rewards.
Or, does it ignore my conditions completely and only “count” my direct damage from my attacks, in the eyes of whatever calculates my contribution?
If the latter is the case, and due to the stack size, why would I ever want to run and gear for conditions in regards to dynamic events?
