I suggest you all just man up and see how your server can do better.

Finally, somebody nailed it (even if by accident). That one line right there is the whole reason I give HoD any crap at all. It’s not about numbers, or zerging, or whether or not any other server would be a better fit for bronze (we all know NSP would roll bronze just as easily as HoD is).

It’s all because HoD had the chance to face a challenging situation head-on and very vocally chose not to.

Would HoD have gotten rolled in silver? Probably. But since when has any server on this side of the ranking table ever given a kitten about being outnumbered? All of us in bronze league had the chance to transfer up to servers with better populations and coverage, but chose not to. And I’m pretty sure any server in this group would be very proud to build up and earn their way into silver on their own accord.

HoD accomplished that, what the rest of us could not, and then quickly turned it down by rolling over. Maybe it’s just my competitive nature, but I find that action more insulting than anything you folks could ever post on the forums.

[PAXA] retired after earning the title, and [Os] has been trying to reclaim it ever since. After [Os] lost their star player to an injury (Rob got perma-banned from the forums), they have been vulnerable. Now [MU] is trying to take advantage of the opportunity, and going for the title themselves.

Will [MU] be able to claim the title? Only time will tell.

You’re looking at pretty much the entirety of GoM’s WvW population compacted onto one map, and yet you STILL don’t have the outmanned buff.

Consider the following…
If you gather your servers entire WvW population into a single force, you may want to do something more useful than flip control points that do not directly earn points for the server and are capped as quickly with 1 person as they are with 5000 people.

Thanks for the tip. Here’s one for you: If you don’t hike up your skirt and bend yourself over a table to avoid a higher league, you might actually fight servers with large enough populations to give you fun and challenging matchups instead of going up against servers who keep themselves entertained by zerging empty bloodlust points and portal-bombing dolyaks.

I want to address the comments that HoD doesn’t belong in bronze.

The first point I want to make is that the very concept of “belonging” to a league is artificial. ANet divided the servers up into arbitrary groups of 6/9/9 based on rank. Somebody is going to be number one in each league but who that is doesn’t mean anything since if they had done 12/12, 9/9/6, 9/6/9, or 6/6/6/6 then things would be radically different.

The second point I want to make is that the bottom silver server is Northern Silver Peaks. The last time HoD faced NSP was in week 31 and HoD was roflstomped. In fact, for the most part every bronze server that went up against NSP has been roflstomped for some time. If HoD had somehow snuck past NSP into silver then the same complaints about a server not “belonging” in bronze would still be made, they would just be aimed at NSP.

My third point is that the during league week 5, Sorrows Furnace lost to HoD by only 50k points. If HoD doesn’t belong in bronze then neither does SF because we’re pretty closely matched. (In league week 6 SF got crushed by over 140k but that’s not representative of the strength of the two servers because SF decided to take it easy that week).

Finally, in non-league weeks 35 through 41 HoD was ranked 18 and that was after slowly clawing its way up from rank 21. In the week immediately prior to the season HoD went up in rank to 17. Given the way Glicko ranking works it’s unlikely HoD could have done anything to jump higher than that.

I know WvW has serious population and coverage imbalances. Outside of this league stuff every server that isn’t Blackgate or Vizunah experiences it. There’s nothing anybody can do about that. All you can do is have good fights and keep improving yourself, your guild, and your server.

Here’s a big “/salute” to every FC and GoM that comes out and does their best in this tough fight. I’ll see you on the field.

Grouping up and helping your servermates finish up their WvW achievements during a blowout matchup isn’t foolish. It’s a common courtesy. A good majority of that blob in the photo are not experienced WvW players and it’s very difficult for them to hit the goals on their own while the Silver League Dodgers are stampeding around every map.

Easiest thing for a mesmer to counter. Stand at the edge of the circle, use GS 5, Illusionary Wave before the House drops. It blows the thief out of his hidey hole and they stand there for a couple of seconds with a stupid look on their face. Since they are now running out of initiative it is prime time to turn them into a moa. Thieves love being chickens.

And a smart thief will use the memers stolen skill to stop that or dodge in shadow refuge :o

Idk where these skilled players are, lately its been 1v3+ where people only to wipe and come back with more numbers, they run into towers to man siege and never come out alone. So far only people to give me a fair fight have been Yarr and they are from FC originally… Also please HoD stop with the emotes after it takes 7+ to kill 2 guys, seriously only 1 more week and your server goes bye bye to silver league, Ahh there is some skilled GoM though, that one necro got me good , props to the Gom necro!

As for the staff ele, he admits he is a terrible ele and just plays it for fun. But when you come to fight night i’m sure he won’t mind dueling you on his warrior or thief. You finally managed to kill 2 of us with your 4 man plus a couple pugs. If you want we can have the same 4 man battle at windmill but you probably won’t show up. Advice to FC: you should probably drop deth, they are making you look bad. Although the way they QQ is hilarious so maybe keeping them wouldn’t be so bad either.

I’m starting to think HoD is starting to develop stress fractures under it’s numbers and success lately. Mainly due to higher tier server groups trying to change low tier groups just wanting to have fun.

Thankfully, when GoM gets transfers, they already only want to have fun. It works out better that way.

HoD, your server is gonna fall apart from the look of things when you move into silver. It happened to NSP. Silver league tore them right in half. Either from [MU] getting frustrated with us lower tier people and leaving, or from lower tiers leaving to dodge the large zergs in silver. Its gonna happen.

good thing MU is here to stay. We know we will most likely get nowhere near Top 3 in silver league. We are here for fight, not PPT. No one in MU has voiced any concern about HoD and a majority of us are HoD natives. Even if something happens i’m sure one of the other WvW guilds will step up.

Honestly, your class should not have a problem 1v1ing thieves. Most thieves have to trait into getting condi removal every three seconds of stealth. With how many conditons, AOEs, and wells a necro has, he should of no problem dealing with a thief. My thief is in valkyrie gear and only has 16k health with no buffs. Seeing a necro complaining about thieves being annoying is hilarious.

I disagree, I have been playing since beta, and stealth is a problem. It is OPed and has been since day one. You can not have a class that can go stealth almost an entire fight.

World Warcraft did it fairly good for balancing stealth.

I have no problem with massive burst damage, and having some stealth to escape, but not all the time, along with stealthed finisher moves on top of it.

Thieves need to stealth to finish since they have no stability besides an elite skill and a limited health pool most of the time. Thieves don’t have the armor or health to tank people hitting them while stomping.

People are going to find a way to complain about stealth no matter which way it’s used. If he’s doing 4k damage then he is most likely full glass cannon. Not only that, but he has to be next to you to use CnD. Not hard to figure out how to kill him dpending on which class you are.

That was an awesome fight in GoM Bay just now.

SF has been outnumbered in 90% of every fight I’ve been in.

Screens or it didn’t happen! All kidding aside, I highly doubt that you have been outnumbered 10% of the time. Our 20 -30 man groups just outplay your 20-30-40+man groups.

1. If you’re roaming you shouldn’t run into 20+ man groups

2. If you’re SF and in a group there is no way in hell that you have been outnumbered at anytime most likely in this match up maybe 10% of the time.

3. SF clearly outnumbers HOD number wise, skill wise that may vary

2. Every single engagement today has been severely outnumbered by hod(while in zerg, so you don’t confuse roaming and zerg again).

Jereme is actually correct on number 3. I have faced both of your servers, and unless Darkhaven outnumbers SF (which is a laughable thought), then HoD is certainly outnumbered by you. HoD wins on coordination and their zergs being high quality.

You should find it odd that two GoM people have came in and said that your post is funny :P.

You all would be right if it weren’t for a little thing called: variation. The HoD you faced may or may not be the same ones “server _” faces.

Populations are not static, so saying as a generalized statement that: “Server A has more people than Server B” is not really accurate. Because you always have to take into account outside variables: PVE, fairweathers, snowballing, etc.
