It’s a great build and i really enjoy playing my necro like that.
I was thinking about crafting some ascended weapons… but there are no
ascended weapons with “giver’s” stats.

So, why is that?

They could have brought up all of this in an expansion, yes, but it would have been a bad expansion like it is a bad LS now. The real problem is that they don’t use the existing opportunities:
- Maps: Crystal Desert, Maguuma Wastes, Far Shiverpeaks, Woodland Cascades, Ring of Fire, Blood Legion Homelands
- Races: Tengu, Dwarfs, Largos
- Dungeons: Underworld, Fissure of Woe (i would LOVE to see this, but in classic style please! make it huge and really hard!)
- Lore: Elder Dragons, bringing back dwarfs, floating castle, old races like Mursaat, Forgotten…
- fighting factions (instead of creating new ones): Nightmare Court, Inquest, Sons of Svanir, Flame Legion…

It’s not about adding new jumping puzzles or revamping something. The story needs to progress. It’s not enought to tell us that scarlet was behind the thaumanova reactor. Like always: Something happens and we don’t know why.

Honestly, this game has to do its next step.

Beside all of this i really hope they will give us cantha, janthir or elona, because one day we’ll just have enough of tyria.

2) It’s not that Scarlet has no plan. It is that the story has failed to demonstrated one.

All the lore points towards Scarlet being disturbingly intelligent and to quote Ozymandias from Watchmen:

“Do it? Dan, I’m not a Republic Serial villain. Do you seriously think I’d explain my master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome? I did it thirty-five minutes ago.”

And another incoherent comparison. Changing from The Joker To Ozymandias doesn’t justify anything.
1. Ozymandias was successful with every little step of his plan, even with the “big thing” in the end, because Rorschach had no opportunity to tell the world what really happend. But Scarlet, as i mentioned before, didn’t achieve anything. Well, she claimed everything is still going according to plan, even after we killed her hybrid. How imaginative to make her inviolable no matter what!
2. Ozymandias did all of this steps secretly, noone knew that it was him. In Scarlet’s case we know it since her first appearance.
3. Scarlet is here since months, so if she triggered the “big thing” allready, where is it? I guess it’s waiting for the storyteller’s decision… the deus ex machina is always a killer for every story’s authenticity.

Just stop making those comparisons. That’s no excuse for this badly designed character and its background story.

We killed the ooze and then made the repulsion-chamber. I have no clue how we did it, since everyone was running around in the labyrinth. After that the boss appeared, but i didnt see anything of scarlet, because i still was running around somewhere else. So we killed him and the cam started to shake. Then: Nothing. No chest. No exit.
We didnt even touch the third chamber… should we have done it too?
Because i still cannot open normal mode…

Edit: Oh, and is the story mode supposed to have no dialogue sound???

if ANet does not come up with something better than this… the storywriters got work to do now so they prove they’re better than some players.

There is really no reason to compare Scarlet with the Joker.

The Joker is an Antagonist, Batman’s counterpart: Colorful, talkative, charismatic, expressive. He portrays a hard contrast to the dark setting of gotham city and its hero. There’s a special kind of interaction between them, which only works because of their opposed equivalence. It’s like black and white, ying and yang, you’ll never question it, the Joker is Batman’s natural enemy.

Not so scarlet. She’s just a lost child, fighting everyone and everything, without having a real enemy. Today she plans to assassinate the queen, tomorrow she terrorizes all of tyria and some time later she showes up again, tieing different species together, building up a huge tower in which she creates an inefficient hybrid – and we still dont know anything about her inner urge.
There’s a plenty of people claiming Scarlet is a deep or complex character. Well, i have to tell you she’s not, she is as flat as a blank sheet of paper. Can you imagine her doing something else than coming up with another evil idea and giggling all the time? Nope. So no complexity here (that’s how it works, really).
While the Joker sometimes was really angry about his failures, showing alot of different feelings (last but not least remind his relationship with Harlequin), scarlet lacks every form of characteristic. Though we foiled every single of Scarlet’s plans she never showed any desperation (btw, ANet, don’t let us win all the time!).

Scarlet just has nothing to say. And that’s why she seems to be so redundant.

I’ve made a guide in the german forum. My english isnt too good, so sry for that.
Though this works i’m still not happy it doesn’t with ANY group collocation – at least it didnt for me.

So here it is: 2 Rangers (or more), 1 Tank (Warrior or Guard) and 2 random classes.

Tank to position 1, stay there and dodge the eggs if you have aggro from tree.
One Ranger on middle and the other ranger on right. Do not pass the “line” of the root on the right. Any other class stays on position right and doesnt do anything, except killing spiders if they attack – but also don’t pass the root.
Rangers use longbow and only attacks with key 1+2. Never use key 5, because you could hit the spiders around the tree with aoe.
If Tank doesnt have aggro from tree, position right or position middle has to dodge.
There are two positions for rangers, because if one position misses to dodge, there’s still one left, that can kill the boss – maybe.

It’s important to dodge, because if the eggs hit you many spiders will spawn.
