Loot usable by current profession and level!

You will continue to loot items appropriate to your level even if you are playing in an area dozens of levels below you. It does not constantly happen but there is a decent frequency related to this kind of drop. I can still get level 80 gear from level 7 mobs. The quality of that loot does drop. I had noticed though that there is a difference in whether the type of item can be used by the character that loots it. I primarily play a Warrior so I don’t have as many weapons which I cannot use as some classes have. There does seem to be an issue with my Warrior looting a lot of armor that it can’t use. My question is whether this is intended to produce more trading action. If so, I can understand it. If it has nothing to do with trading then I think it could be looked at. Unless, well, we are also meant to play multiple classes and then trade items between our own characters. This just seems like an unnecessary inconvenience to me though so I’d rather that not be the reason.

You have to consider the logic of the character’s action. A character would not spend a ton of time intentionally, preferentially collecting items of no value to itself. It would take things it could either use personally or could sell/trade. So I’m looking for an explanation that we are intended to sell, trade, or salvage a larger number of items in order to support the flow of trade for the server.

+1 from me as well. Not only would this be great for players with accessibility issues it would add a lot to the gameplay. Would love to see better use of RMB and the addition of an intelligent reticle.

I agree with this and would like to see it implemented in this way. These classes should represent fairly intelligent characters who could plan ahead to decide how best to face a situation and should have a reasonable way to manage their strategies out of combat. It seems like something that could only result in considerable annoyance over time and I don’t think it’s fair for the players of these classes to have to deal with that when this adjustment does not give them any in-combat advantage. Just seems like a nice thing to let the Elementalists and Engineers see that you care that they are having fun.

Weapons you want to see in the future?

I am personally the most interested in playing a class that fights unarmed and with only light armor or without armor, preferably without. I can envision this using a system something like the Elementalist has with its attunements. Instead of the attunements you would be switching back and forth between fighting styles.

I presently have a level 80 Warrior and can only be one more voice asking that the class be given a 2h axe. This seems so immediately fitting for the class that it is continually occurring to me that I can’t use one.

I also support the javelin and the whip as suggested above. The whip seems especially appealing to me because I believe your team could make it a signature weapon. It could really be something that stands out in the hands of a few GW2 classes. Thief, Mesmer, and Necromancer immediately come to mind. I also believe the javelin could look really cool and would love to see it added.

One other thing I am not seeing suggested so far is the use of a spear. I am thinking of this as a weapon to be used by a Ranger. Using the spear underwater is one of my favorite things in the game and I’d really love to see a version of it for use on dry land.

The scimitar, scythe, halberd, and crossbow are all also really good ideas.

Mostly, I just won’t feel like I really have the character that I want until I can fight unarmed. Please consider it.

I support the idea of adding in the ability to alter a character’s appearance following the initial character creation.
