At the very least have a map rotation with Alpine. Most of my good memories come from those maps and nostalgia has hit like a brick and I teared up a little bit thinking about the good ol’ innocent days when I wasn’t bitter.

I’ve actually been running into some decent Warriors on my team. I did have one in particular that cost me 2 matches but then I had a Condi Berserker that was able to hold far with 3 people long enough for us to cap the two other points and then come and save him. It was amazing.

Condi Berserker the dream! The only class I can’t fight with it is a good Scrapper, thanks for the praise and good luck climbing!

Overhaul CC & Stability while you're at it

I really like the idea of a .5 second ICD per stab stack, one of the best suggestions I’ve seen on the forums.
I disagree with the target cap on certain CC abilities though, partially because that’s most of what they bring, like Line of Warding, Rock Wall, Static Field, and so on (I do think Hunter’s Ward is way too good though)
With even numbers there’s not TOO MUCH of an issue, but it’s still there. But if you have considerably fewer players, 20 vs 40 for example, you’re going to NEED to either surprise the larger group with a port, invis, or a flank, hope they’re not smart enough to save some of their CC after you bait out some, or hope they miss a lot of their CC.

I don’t like the idea of reverting to the old “I’ve got no chains on me!” Stab, but I do believe that’s better than the current usefulness of Stab in some situations. That said, I’d much prefer that .5 second ICD so you don’t need massive amounts of stab, which is easier to corrupt with the buffed corruption on Necro, to escape a Hunter’s Ward or two.

I like how active, exciting, and mean it feels. The most fun I’ve ever had in this game was on a shout-heal warrior before that build was gutted.
Running around with 15-20 and pushing into larger numbers with Earthshaker and Savage Leap, doing your best to lock anyone down for a bomb, feels great. I don’t get that same feeling on Guard or Rev.

I used to run oldschool shoutheal, but it doesn’t work nearly as well as it does now. But I suggest that build, it’s much more selfish of a build compared to shoutheal, but it’ll keep you alive and doing damage.

It’s a very beautiful map with some interesting choke-points and open areas, but it doesn’t quite fit the current situation WvW is in, if population was double-triple what it is maybe it’d work out better.
The maps are also quite confusing and gimmicky at times, but the confusion will probably fade out over time.

I love me some monies, but I’ve come to accept that WvW isn’t about the monies, it’s about the foights. (Although gold is always nice, just not when it interferes with ramming others against blunt objects, or sharp ones if that’s your thing)
Good on them for half realizing that, but the priority list does seem quite out of whack, maybe it’s the simple and easier to implement things first? Maybe that’s too hopeful.

That one seems to happen when a new map instance is entered but someone is already on a team, actually, that could be a good referee function.

datamine: elite spec - the berserk(new)

in Warrior

Dipdoo.4861

It’s hard to be sure whether or not Berserkers actually existed, but there are some accounts of lightly armored men, typically wearing a cloak made out of a bear or wolf’s hide, (Usually the hide of the animal they killed with their bare hands to ‘become’ a Berserker, as the story goes) ambushing columns that heavily outnumbered them, and devastating wherever they happened to strike with varying losses of their own. It was also accounted that cuts, gouges, stabs, and slashes didn’t do much to slow a berserker, but blunt weapons would stop them very quickly, because of concussions and other things like broken bones, you can’t push through a shattered arm or being knocked unconscious.

I’d love to see that become the spec, I just hope it’s something to spice the Warrior class up, and a Berserk spec would do a fine job of it. A self sacrifice to deal some insane damage, or whatever ANET can think up.

Also, The Giantdad Spec 3.0, Well what is it, Casul?

I honesty didn’t see, hear, or feel much toxicity at all, and I know it when I see it, being a long time member of some of the most toxic game communities there are, (LoL as a strong example.)
But apparently there was something that caused the fallout, unless I’m as oblivious or out of the know as possible, it must’ve been something more private or hidden.
I believe the largest reason for the mass exodus was curiosity of other servers/the same fights getting stale/not enough fights/testing the water of another pond, and so on. More to do with the core/base experience than the community.
Just my thoughts on the matter though.

Simply thinking about applying normal logic is great, produces laughs left and right.
IE: An Asuran Warrior swinging a toothpick and holding a poker chip, in comparison to a Charr or Norn of course. :P
The size and weight of some weapons, you’d swing yourself with it, which makes me think of the best scenarios.
Not being smashed by things that should logically flatten you with little effort, primarily applying to PvE, but the same can go for PvP. :P

As has been said the Warrior is easy to pick and and run with, but not so easy if you plan on mastering it, there are pit-falls that are very hard to overcome, and you hit that ‘skill-ceiling’ wall hard.
Considering you enjoy in-your-face type combat, like Renekton, I’d think you’ll enjoy playing Warrior, there are a fair amount of builds, some easier to use than others, with different strengths and weaknesses and even entirely different strategies/styles, as there are with all professions. There is always something so extremely satisfying about slamming into someone with your hammer, becoming the bull with Rampage, or charging an enemy zerg, setting up some combos or kills with Earthshaker, chasing or escaping with GS Rush and Whirlwind, and, if you spec for it, obliterating someone with a good Killshot.

PvE is pretty basic, GS is almost a must with the DPS on Hundred Blades, then you can mix it up with the secondary set, I like longbow personally. Banners, signets, and maybe a shout or two takes up your utility, and it’s fairly straight forward.
I’d definitely recommend giving it a try, very in-your-face, active, and aggressive, I don’t think you’d get even remotely bored of it in SPvP and WvW.

Our numbers did take a HUGE hit, but it seems that most of those that stuck around have more than enough ‘heart’ and drive to keep it going.
People will do what they feel they should be, or want to be, doing, and that’s exactly the way it should be, one can just hope for the best one way or another.

Human vs Norn armies: who would win?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Dipdoo.4861

Dipdoo.4861

A single Norn, especially their heroes, are unimaginably strong, but they don’t work together well. As has been stated a few times before, Norn would most likely win any duel with any of the other races.
In an organized war the Norn would have a hard time pulling through, lack of organization and cooperation would be their end, and those two things don’t just sprout up.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

There would hardly be much of an engagement, all it would take is some long range firepower, probably mounted on ships or VERY high flying jets, make Mordy go boom, no nukes needed. Hell, WWII style carpet bombing would handle Mordy, that decimated entire cities.

[New Players]WvW professions easy to hard

in WvW

Posted by: Dipdoo.4861

Dipdoo.4861

Yep, after stability changes classes that run in the melee-train got harder, especially if you’re outnumbered, because then your stability gets ripped really quickly in comparison to how often you can get it back up.

I can say from experience that warrior has plenty of little niches to fill before you’ve ‘mastered’ it. Timing and decision making with your CC, shouts, banner, condition clear, and mobility is more important here than with most other professions.
I wouldn’t call them the easiest to master by any means, but I would say that they’re the easiest to pick up and run with without much experience.
But opinions will differ and I can’t say much for the rest, having not played them nearly as much.

Who would win in a fight, a Charr or Norn?

in Charr

Posted by: Dipdoo.4861

Dipdoo.4861

Very deep debate here, I largely agree with what’s stated just above, but what I’ve noticed is that the specific experience of the two combatants has been sorely neglected.

Charr fight each-other and, at times, prisoners of other races, in both semi-friendly competitions and complete brawls, typically while armed and armored, although they are unarmed at times during these semi-friendly competitions. (Charr spar many times more than any other race, especially Norn) While the bulk of the Norn sparring experience is made up of bare-handed drunk bar fights with each-other and possible ‘Tough Hunts’. Keep in mind that these are averages, and I haven’t mentioned the already clear natural advantages the Norn has in terms of strength and such.

Overall…
Unarmed: I’d say Norn has the better chance here by quite the margin.
Completely armed: Charr has a VERY slight advantage, despite having a natural disadvantage, their aforementioned combat experience tips the scales ever so slightly.

Not exactly what was asked originally but…
Group combat: Charr have a massive advantage here due to their previously mentioned lifestyles and training.

Keep in mind that this is assuming they duel in an open field with temperate weather, change the battleground and the advantages each combatant has also changes, depending on the battleground of course.
