That sounds a lot like the strategy i like to use. I have no idea what my own weakness is (other than being outplayed), but getting some way to cripple or immobile him is a good idea. Maybe get a scepter to use the immobilize. Just remember, the rifle has a 15 second CD melee attack that knocks you back and pretty much leaves you open for the massive damage rifle focus so careful.

100B does pretty meh damage if all of them don’t hit, and the strongest hit is at the end, so if you have good reflexes you should be able to dodge it easily.

That’s what the majority of every class tells everyone else too.

Except thieves and guardians. They just tell everyone that they’re not OP.

Yeah i know it’s pretty bad, but it’s not the worst like some people are making it out to be.
Personally from best to worst i think it’s
mesmer > thief > guardian > warrior > engineer > necromancer > ranger > ele

I’m going by how well they can hold people off who are trying to finish them.

I don’t know why people are making fun of the engie downed state. It’s actually pretty decent. Yeah it pulls enemies to you but it also interrupts and works well with the 3rd skill which blows enemies away like the guardian downed #2.

But still the downed state is amazingly unbalanced. The difference between the downed state of mesmers and ele is massive. When i down an ele i never have any problem, but when i down a mesmer i KNOW they’re going to teleport away. At least when the thief teleports they appear instantly. When the mesmer teleports there’s usually a 1-2 second wait until they actually show up. They still have their phantasms running around too which is horrible balance.

In fact the whole downed state is annoying. If i just barely beat an enemy i want them to die, or at the very least be helpless. If i’m fighting someone 1v1 and we have a close match, the fight will devolve into two wounded people throwing trash at each other, which is not as hilarious or as fun as it sounds.

Basalisk venom is actually pretty useful for certain builds. It has a low cooldown so it works well with the lyssa ruin buffs, it’s unbreakable, and with poison share it can be very useful in a group. It’s useful for backstab thieves too because it keeps the enemy in place.

I’d say the ranger elite spirit takes the place of basilisk venom. It’s so slow and dies so fast that bleh.

Can be broken now since today’s update just letting you know.

So now the thief has a 1 second stun for an elite skill?

Arenanet’s attempts to nerf the thief’s insane burst damage is like a blind person trying to hit a target from 20 yards away with a slingshot.

I think others should just get a nerf. I hate the downed state in general. I don’t know how good it is for tournaments, but it’s really annoying for sPVP. It takes a lot of time off and some classes are far better at surviving through it than others. It also encourages zerging because a large amount of people in a close group means more rallys and easier revives.
