I guess next time some big guilds might want to check their egos at the door before abandoning their old servers for greener pastures.

It’s funny that a lot of the guilds that left SoS was because of the jumping puzzle. They had a problem with holding the JP while maintaining a large enough lead and not holding up queues. Exactly what JQ is doing now. A lot of the less experienced guilds have no clue of the power of owning a free siege fountain that runs 24/7.

Now you have a bunch of mediocre servers due to poor guild choices combined with the decision to wipe the rankings, give the last few weeks of free transfers and then lock them all at $20, while allowing guesting which doesn’t encourage server loyalty.

You better hope the March 26 patch introduces enough fixes, culling, etc.. and adds enough to keep it interesting for the next 6 months. There really needs to be a removal of the [outmanned] option causing a lop side effect during off hours.

Is everyone ready to face reality today?

My take on a better outmanned buff :
-Double the NPC’s on all objectives for your server.
-Double the respawn rate on all NPC’s for your server.
-Add X% (variable based on how outmanned you are) defense to all walls/gates.

I say just remove it, it isn’t doing anyone any good but the server with the advantage.

Funny they don’t post it anywhere associated with Anet.

Let’s hope them removing culling fixes the issues, if there’s still people here to play.

I’m not sure how many players they’ve lost by dragging their feet and working on PVE and PVP while WvWvW was dying, but let’s hope they come back if it is really fixed for good.

GW1 couldn’t fix it, I guess we’ll see if they’ve finally figured it out, since promising for several months now.

Basically we’ll believe it when we see it, this time.

I don’t get your problem. Outmanned is a complete waste of time, it doesn’t give you any advantage for being ‘outmanned’ in Wv3 whatsoever, no stat increases, no extra defence, just PVE based rewards. How is this upsetting server balance?

Means the other two servers you are playing against has a 25 zerg advantage against you during off hours.

Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that a 25 man zerg can take anything and everything without anyone to defend against it, or 25 men short of defending it.

It’s simple math, go back to the basics.

There is no reason for the allowing of outmanned, that in itself spells unbalanced.

MMOS are all about balance and fairness, especially in WvWvW,

new ranking system

any plans of a new ranking system?

maybe more like competitive system like nba, nfl, etc…

keep track of number of 1st, 2nd and 3rd and matching you up with other servers that finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc… daily…

posting records and stats daily and at the end of the year, quarter, whatever.. have playoffs, finals, tournaments… REWARDS.

any plans of adding daily maps played from 5pm friday to 5pm saturday for example?

maps that would be smaller, less towers, no borderlands (4 maps to cover)?

a separate reward and ranking system for the daily wvwvw.

this would also create smaller maps that would help with the culling issues.
bigger the map, larger the overhead.

Up to a 25 man zerg running around vs 20% magic find 33% exp/karma.

This is a huge problem during off hours and the reason games are so unbalanced.

Remove [outmanned] it should have never of been instituted?

Now that the weekdays have rolled out… maybe you’ll start to notice the population declines… especially during the morning hours.

The lot of half empty servers of “wvwvw” players, not players in total will start to lose interest without the proper player balance.

Until there are only a few servers concentrated into the top tier of remaining servers oblivious to their surroundings.

Claiming their thrones out of default instead of balance and challenge.

This is the doom of every MMO with poor management and planning.

The END GAME is scattered, bugged with culling and unrewarding for #1.

Hate to sound like a troll, but the players and devs seem to be blissfully ignorant.

The state of SoS is so weird right now.

Literally a good third of our WvW force is now gone. Vast majority of fighters are all disorganized militia who have little idea what they’re doing. A lot of people are disheartened, and we have several people spamming doomsday like crap in map chat about how this server is about to plunge into T6 anytime now.

Really hope we can pull ourselves together again. I feel like T2 could be extremely fun if we can rally our forces together after a rough few weeks and all the fairweather troopers jumping ship.

I guess that’s what happens when you announce a ranking wipe during the same time you allow the last few weeks of free server transfers. With guesting that allows for them to still visit their home server.

If a guild leader has enough “pull” he could take 300+ people or even alliances with him/her to new servers. This is what happened and caused a lopsided effect on some of the servers.

Now that the server transfers are locked in at $20 you won’t be seeing any balancing of the WvWvW player base unless you get new users, which usually requires an expansion release.

There has also been a large dropping of population due to the persistent culling issue that still hasn’t been addressed. This may have something to do with the very large map which requires a lot of overhead.

There’s also an issue with off hours, which ever server has the closest to 24/7 coverage wins. You can make 5-30k on weekdays alone without proper defense. There really needs to be stricter 1 out, 1 in basis during off hours.

This combined with the fact that the rankings can and will be wiped at any time for a new formula, only reinforces the fact that the #1 ranking on the #1 tier is meaningless and unrewarding.

I’m sure the PVP and PVE environments are thriving from all the dedication for the last few months. The living story seems to be more important then saving what’s left of a population issue, at least at SoS.

I’m sure everyone here has played 4 or more MMOs in your life, you’ve seen them come and go. The only thing GW2 has going for it right now is the fact it’s free.

The solution to me seems to be to release a paid expansion with new dungeons and a new smaller WvWvW map. By this time they should have all the details worked out for the culling issues.

This new expansion will bring in new players to fill in the gaps that were created by poor management decisions for everyone. It may even bring back old players that have grown tired of the END GAME.

What are the population #s for the servers, do the devs provide information to others, other then themselves?

LOL no queue for reset night.

Yep SOS has a population of a couple hundred now and no off hours players.

I notice the population and interest drop from SOR too.

The game seems to be dying and the populations are dropping rapidly.

Wonder how long it’s going to take until we have Warhammer Online part 2?
