I have been experimenting with both in sPvP and WvWvW as a means of CC (or at least the second C) for some time now, and both seem to have their pros and cons.
Hammer
Pros: Wide attack radius, two KD skills, one KB skill, can inflict weakness and cripple.
Cons: No blocking skill, longer recharge on most CC skills.
Dual Mace
Pros: Faster recharge on most skills (including long-range KD), two stunners, blocking skill, can inflict weakness and vulnerability
Cons: Not ideal for a spread-out group, third “auto-attack” is rather slow.
I should probably also mention that I tend to pair one of these with the rifle for a ranged weapon.
Does anyone here have any experience with these weapon setups? Although I find the hammer to be more versatile in general, m/m seems to be faster/“burst-ier”. Any thoughts?
I have 6 pieces on and am noticing no effect.
Giver’s Insignia not increasing boon duration: The new Giver’s Insignia does not seem to be increasing the duration of boons as its description text says it does.
Just a heads-up.
I think this last post has a reasonable compromise. In line with that, here is an idea regarding the alt+F4 change posted from the GameFAQs forums:
User Nusquam_Sum writes:
“I wonder if some sort of trade-off would be fair. For example, in GW1 logging out mid-PvP on your party accumulated “dishonor,” which barred you from further PvP participation for some time. Might that not be a fair trade-off? If you alt-F4 out, you cannot re-enter WvW for anywhere between 30 minutes – 24 hours (depending on how draconian ANet is feeling, or how frequently you offend, perhaps). Sure, this way you need not pay the armor penalty, but you will also be unable to get into WvW at all, at least for some time."
The user also goes on to point out that sPvP does not entail any sort of money sink on the players’ parts, whereas WvW does (gear, repair costs, upgrades, etc).
Just a suggestion.
