I started a warrior in November, 2013, and was trying to find a guide to builds for warriors, something akin to the fabulous guides on the guardian forum. Like many of us, I wanted more info on builds, their synergy with traits and utilities. I read through several forums and pieced together several builds from different players. It’s pretty easy to find the meta for pve, but I’ve come to the conclusion that there is no meta for pvp (roaming, zerging or spvp). When I started my warrior I was doing mainly wvw, and so most of the below builds are for roaming or zerging. I’ve tried several of these with varying levels of success, but I’m also a relative noob when it comes to playing the warrior, so my successes and failures probably had more to do with my own play style as well as time of day for wvw and server activity.
If you have a build that’s not shown here, my apologies for not including it, add it in, annotate it. If you don’t like a build, don’t kill the messenger, offer some constructive criticism, and please remember that there are differences in play style and role. Thanks to all who’ve shared their builds and links on the forum. I’ve appreciated many of the perspectives.
Listed are builds, primary role, primary weapons (you should have one of each weapon type in your kit bags, regardless of your current build), main trait picks, armor (I have 2 sets and I know people who 4), trinkets, runes, and sigils. For sigils, the first one matches with the first weapon given. I’ve also given the author of the build; you can search on the author to find the relevant discussion.

Take III with it to prolong your crit bleeds to almost guarantee the 10%. Unsuspecting foe and Forceful gs, or try Last Chance. Basically, always take 20 in defense.

Dodging doesn’t fix this. The minefield in level 1 is like a continuous explosion. If the timer on it were a bit longer it would be better, but missing one dodge leads to multiple blowouts. I spent nearly 5 minutes in one spot trying to heal, standing up, getting knocked down, rinse, repeat, stand, no time to dodge, dodge into another field, etc. Pretty pointless, not my idea of a fun time, logged off.
Easy. Don’t log into WvW for a week. Transfer servers if the problem persists. Start playing another game if that doesn’t work. This has been the solution for a large portion of the WvW player base. We only have one guy from our guild playing in WvW now.
^This. You can only have so much fun flipping camps and killing sentries when you’re grossly outnumbered. Jumping puzzles, meh. Toxic tower, really? I spend more time rezzing in there than I do actually going forward.
