Am I doing something wrong?

I got to the the battle for claw island then I went and fought some other risen, and found that they just totally ignore the pet. 60ish levels of pet tanks I DPS just like every other ranger/hunter in every other game. Then suddenly the game becomes run in circles while my pet is unable to hit a moving target.

What is up with their AI?! is it a bug, or intentional?

I’m fine with kiting, I do it on my elementalist, but everything up to this point, and from every other game I’ve ever played says that a ranger pet should be able to get aggro and tank if I spec for it. Why then does the primary mob you get to be around after 60-70 ignore everything that your leveling told you to do? It’s insanely frustrating.

Even if I do nothing other than send my pet in, the risen run straight for me! I’ve done nothing to them for me to even be on their aggro table!!!

I really want to play my ranger, It’s my favorite class type in any game, but the risen are driving me absolutely nuts…

And if you have your glow broken by a hair kit, they are only refunding the cost of the hair kit, not a makeover kit that it will take to fix it. so you will be out 100 gems once they do have the bug resolved. be forewarned.

Aw phoey, so I’m not the only person that had the hair kit break the glow.

So the question now is if we put in a refund request on the hair kit due to the glow loss, can we get a make-over kit worth of refund or just the hair kit as we’ll have to get a make-over kit to repair the damage from the hair kit?

Or can we get someone just to set the glow on the character to 100% and not worry about any of it?

Does anyone know how far back this issue goes? I was just playing another one of my sylvari characters that I was just parking for the healer daily and I noticed she didn’t have a glow either. I’ve really only played her during the day, and this is the first I’ve had her out at night and I know she had a glow before.. I used a makeover kit maybe 3-4 weeks ago on her, and a hair kit a week ago. If this cropped up with the January patch, then the hair kit has the same problem of stripping off the glow.

I think it may be something like that, but after playing with it assuming that’s the issue, I still can’t get it to bounce reliably. I used the plains worms to test with, though they tend to link, but I was watching the glowy ball to see if it bounced and checking for conditions, and even halving the distance to 600ish and throwing at a worm, it wouldn’t bounce to the worm right next to it which should have been somewhere around 900-1000 total distance.

I don’t think its range because I could throw it at a mob that had another one standing 3 feet away and I was at maybe 1100 range. I threw it at mob 1 an it didn’t bounce to mob 2. Only mob 1 came running at me. Once mob 1 got fairly close, then the bounce came to me.

Doing the human noble quest where you have to escort the paper guy and his bull. I killed each of the mobs one at a time because the bounce wouldn’t go to any other mobs. I tried staying away so I was too far away from the bounce and nothing. no mob other than the one I was attacking had any health loss until I actively switched to targeting them. But they were all definately within range because they were practically standing on each other attacking the bull.

I’m leveling a mesmer and was playing around with the staff, and noticed that WoC doesn’t bounce between enemies. I can throw an orb at one, and he’s the only enemy that comes to me, once he gets close enough it will bounce to me, but it’ll never bounce between enemies. Occasionally I’ll run into an enemy that it actually bounces between, but 98% of what I’ve fought it never bounces.

Is this by design or am I missing something?

When female sylvari(I’ve heard it’s male too) use a 2 handed ranged weapon (shortbow, longbow, and rifle) they aim to the left whenever they are moving. when they stop moving they aim straight. I’ve tested it with other races, but they are the only one that has this problem. It’s about 10 degrees off to the left.

In the screenshot I’m actually shooting something off to my right, but it was the cleanest shot I had showing where the aim pointed when moving.

I already got taken care of shortly after I put a ticket in through the website. I did put the wrong category though, but I’m all taken care of. If you need it, my ticket was 130131-000311.

On the bug report thing, I think one was reporting a botter, and I don’t remember what the other one was, but I’m just so used to hearing back from a GM in game and the in game system is always for support tickets. I just assumed the bug report was a support ticket from past experiences elsewhere. No biggie though, now I know and that’s more than a little portion of the battle.

Yeah until this bug I’ve always submitted my support requests in game and wondered why nobody was responding. It’s not exactly clear that you can’t get help in game from the in game tools.

I got a refund very promptly though using the support website. Now if it can get fixed, I can reuse those gems to buy a kit to put my glow back. Too bad they couldn’t just edit the character to turn the glow back on.

Sigh… I wish I had seen this post before I just used a makeover kit… I was trying to figure out why it wiped out my glow because that was one of 3 things I was actually trying to change. And it’s not isolated to Female Sylvari that had a 0 glow at creation, my sylvari was created with about a 75% glow, I used the kit to up it to 100% glow and change my hair and body type.

So what should we do if we got hit by it to get a replacement for when the bug is fixed?

Ahh, I was expecting to have an items mailed with it, I didn’t try ‘opening’ it because I didn’t have anything to apply it to. The description seemed to say that it was a skin, not a container. I’ll give it a try tonight when I get home.

I thought when you bought the Quaggan backpack that you were supposed to get a back item to transmute it to that didn’t have a level requirement or stats. I didn’t get it, just the backpack skin. Any idea how to go about getting the item that you can put it on?
