Greetings!
I’m on the look out for a great high level fractal build for Engineer. Fractals from lvl35+.
I’d specifically like to use Pistol/Shield, and kits don’t really matter, though I know it would probably involve grenades. If someone knows a good build that uses Rampagers, would be great, as I’d like to have the conditions for wvw aswell. But I’ll take all recommendations.
Please share your knowledge!
Thanks
Great post TheSwede, Really like the idea of boss phases/modes, and the Stalwart one would actually be a great way to bring condition builds into parties.
Hey all,
Recently decided to pull my engi out of retirement, and I’ve always really enjoyed the condition side of engineer’s, for PvE and for wvw, and I don’t really enjoy the rifle based builds.
I put together this after leveling a new engineer and testing afew builds and skills. While I know most people here the words conditions + dungeon/fractal together, and freak out, however if I was running with my guild, I would probably be the only condition based build in the group.
The point of the build is for blast finishers to stack might/stealth for the group, aswell as vulnerability and condition damage. Boosting the damage of the rest of the party, and dealing a fair amount myself.
Tear it apart or give some constructive criticism :P
aaaaand go…
Good points Mad Queen Malafide, I have not actually done the flame shaman fractal in months, ill give it a run and see. Hopefully future dungeon boss’s will use the same kind of thinking when being designed.
Perhaps I worded that line incorrectly, I was using the Lupi fight as an example of mechanics in a boss fight, where you cant just stand in 1 corner and spam skills. The 2 players on 1 objective and 3 on the boss was just an example of the way a completely different or future boss encounter could be done to create the same mechanics/tactics feel of what Lupi brings to the dungeon. Instead of like most boss’s, stacking in a corner.
Greetings all!
Just thought I’d start a thread on MY OPINION ( keep the flamers away ) on the state of dungeons at the moment, and really just a future solution to the problem, and to get everyone else’s thoughts.
I’ve always enjoyed dungeon runs in MMO’s, especially when they are well done, and looking at Guild Wars 2 dungeon’s as they are at the moment, feel more like a zerg group plowing through mobs, then any kind of mechanic based dungeon adventure. I get disappointed and upset when coming to a boss fight, and everyone screams to stack against a wall and spam burst skills. While I love Guild Wars 2, and have always been a huge fan of ArenaNet and the artistic style they have going, aswell as the polished finish alot of their games have, I miss the days of raid boss’s like in WoW. Say what you will about WoW, they got their raid boss fights perfect. When you kill a raid boss, you feel a sense of achievement and relief.
The only boss fight I can think of in Guild Wars 2 that reminds me of that same feeling and requires some knowledge and observation of the encounter, is Lupi.
If and I’m sure they will, implement more and new dungeons in the future. Id like to see more/all boss fights to be more like Lupi, where perhaps 2 party members need to tackle 1 objective, while the other 3 focus on the boss, or the boss would perform a skill on a player, which requires all other players to help out to prevent this players death, failure to do so, would result in wiping. Also making the boss encounters more skill based, and with a learning curve, would make the dungeons more challenging, as I know alot of people are complaining about this at the moment. The boss drops would need to be adjusted to accommodate this obviously, 2-3 blue items from a lvl 80 fight like Lupi is just malicious from the developers. Enough of this standing in a corner, and smashing 2-3 buttons.
Anyway, thats my input, my thoughts…
Let me hear yours.
Signed! Awesome concept, definitely need some new awesome pistol skins
These builds actually both look great, going to give them a try. Really like the Scepter/Sword.
Thanks.
Also if anyone has a fairly decent Scepter focused/inclusive build for PvE, please share, or post a link. Would be great to see.
Thanks!
I recently came back to gw2, and have managed to lvl 80 my mesmer, which I am loving. However I cant seem to get over how I feel like I am being forced to use certain weapons in dungeons/PvE, of which I really don’t want. I am told that as a mesmer to be efficient in dungeons, I must run GS/Sword/Focus builds. Now a mesmer with a greatsword is really not my idea of the class, and I have found I love the look/gameplay of the scepter. However while I wear my scepter proudly, others seem to disagree and after trying the GS build, I can see why.
My question is directed to one of the Dev’s and in hopes they I may get some, even vague, reply…
Is there something in the works to open up more weapon choices and make more weapons viable for all classes (Mainly mesmer for me) in dungeon/PvE content. I guess the problem is conditions in Dungeons, as I see alot of these posts about.
Anyway, if anyone else besides a dev has heard anything, feel free to let me know
Cheers!
