Everyone experiences this issue – especially when there are a lot of people downloading a patch at the same time. This is entirely on A-net’s side.. there really isn’t anything you can do about it.
If the download stalls at 0KB/s, wait a couple of minutes to see if it picks back up again. It usually does.

Sweeping for Mesmers isn’t that difficult… though there are plenty of other problems with portals, especially with the player culling issue still in full swing. No class/ability should be an absolute necessity on the battlefield, but Mesmers and portals are just that.
@Mishi
Even if the portal is spotted, your AoEs are still only going to hit five players. Player-clumping remains a very effective way to mitigate damage and maximize group buffs/healing, which is one of the things that makes portals extremely powerful.

Great battles last night, everyone. I was surprised by FA’s overwhelming presence, considering that our scores in the last match (where we were both stomped by TC) weren’t that far apart.
Unfortunately Dragonbrand still needs to drop another tier or two to get where we need to be after losing so many guilds to free server transfers.. even during primetime our Queue’s are practically non-existant at this point (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing).
For now we just need to work on keeping morale up and try to enjoy WvW despite the consistent blowouts. Get out there and do some damage!

Having been with the Irregulars since before GW2 launched, I can safely say that this is the best MMO community that I’ve ever been a part of. If you’re searching for a forum-centric guild that you can call home, look no further~
We’ll be actively representing Dragonbrand in WvW tonight.. hope to see you on the battlefield!

Can’t think of a scenario where a system crash would altar your game performance in any way, unless it automatically reverted to an old driver or something. After rebooting you didn’t get any notifications?
Not to be rude, but it’s possible that you’re imagining these differences.

Do you have the same symptoms if you run the game at low settings? That may help determine if it’s a network lag issue. Typically with network lag you’ll also have a delay between when you click an ability and when it actually goes off.
If you look at your in-game options you should be able to display your FPS. What are you seeing there? Is it dropping abnormally?

You would likely see some improvement, but the CPU would still be a bottleneck for your system when paired with that video card. And GW2 is very CPU-driven at present time.

You’re not likely to get a lot of technical support from A-net on an issue that probably relates to your own internet connection. And they certainly aren’t going to flip a switch and magically fix your problem. Your best bet is posting a more detailed description here for others to work with.
You’re being disconnected – the game isn’t just crashing, correct?
Do you have problems with any other games or your internet browser?
Have you tried resetting your router and/or modem?
Try opening a command prompt from the accessories folder in your start menu, then type “ping www.guildwars2.com -t” (without the quotes). Leave that window open for a long time and see if your connection is dropping any packets or the ping times are fluctuating wildly.
