I have noticed nobody has a decent argument against this and ppl are trying hard to troll.. i just take it as a compliment that i did a good job at flushing out the bad, scared thieves!

so in other mmo’s if you get hit in stealth you lose stealth lol they usually have CD’s of like 90 seconds or until you get out of combat! in this game you can get back into stealth after 3 seconds and ppl are complaining that my idea will break it! HAHAHA its already broken guys! i just tryed to came up with a way to tone down stealth abuse, without abusing the revealed debuff! and for all you stealth abusing thieves i got traps!!!!! and i can out run you all <3 good game!

im not trying to be rude to anyone who wants to learn.. but there is a line between learning and straight copying.. i spend alot of time watching youtube videos or fighting enemies that are tough to increase my game play but i never ever ever have copied someone elses build.. its disgusting to me!

it used to be flavor of the didnt exist.. but now everyone thinks they are pro at it LOL.. second i use a build that is based around my gear that im sure nobody else does.. i i eat up those so much better cookie cutter builds.. me and my friend spend lots of time theory crafting between eachother to make our selves more powerful and push limits.. we dont come on here asking for a guide from someone who just started playing thief or a weapon set and thinks they are BEST..

i understand what creativity is! really i do, I also understand what it is not and there are to many thiefs in this game that play the cookie cutter builds and dont try anything untill ppl say it is OP.. i feel like im surrounded by.., nah i wont say it

i did actually make a necro recently but i just cant lvl another character for some reason… im not very patient it is really fun tho and hopefully maybe i could someday muster up the strength to go through the grewling lvl system.. but not now .. and you are right NO thieves impress me except Alpha Bladie who still refuses to use stealth and sticks to pistol whip lol LOVE YOU BLADIE

My idea is that during fights every other class has to fight while being seen and constently being targeted. I play thief mostly and pretty much only WvW anymore. Stopped PvP’ing at rank 40 a few months ago and i am actually getting bored of WvW atm…. SO! I would like to be challenged to step up my thief gameplay and stop playing easy mode.

I honestly believe ppl should have a way to combat stealth, especially with how accessible it is. Thieves WILL still have the advantage over other classes because they can still drop target and (you will see) can go stealth again imminently as long as they didnt hit someone from stealth .. in which case if they did they would get the already in place – revealed debuff. This change would make the game more fun to me, stop ppl from crying, and teach thieves to be better players. It would force them to learn to dodge, keep CD’s ready, and calculate the risk of engagement just like every other class has too!

My ideas are!!
When a stealthed player gets hit it removes stealth but does not apply the revealed debuff. Very simple but it would give a more balanced feel and a way to combat stealth! I truely believe this would help the game..
Of coarse things that wont take you out of stealth are..
AoE fields
conditions
necro marks
guardian staff autoattck (lol that would be bad)
and chain attacks like ranger longbow or rifle warrior (as long as the first attack didnt hit you while in stealth)
ect.

another idea i have is change last refuge and make the player drop BLACK POWDER instead .. they could even gain stealth from that if they know how or are quick enough
reduce ini cost of CnD to 5

increase heart seeker to 3 ini and put a trait 25 to 30 points deep into the trickery line to decrease the ini of all #2 weapon skills by one.. this will make things a little more spammable but the thief would have to sacrifice something to get to it (most likly damage) and it would also make it harder for those d/p to be so cheezy!

shadow refuge should be a stealth pulsing area that does not give the revealed debuff.. it should work like this.. im in stealth in my shadow refuge and it is pulsing every second to give me stealth.. oops i get hit.. my stealth is gone.. pulse.. i have stealth again and they just gor blinded because i have it traited to blind on stealth WIN!

EXAMPLE OF THIEF ON THIEF: 1 thief CnD another thief but then gets CnD’ed.. oops the first lost his stealth but if he can guess where the other is on his next CnD he will have it and not the 2nd thief.

AND get rid of that stealth trap ANET! it is no longer needed.. (after you implement this) and the playing field is now fair game!

The bad thieves will crumble but the good will excel!!

Assassins never die.. because they never enter a fight they will have to run from!

this skill has always bugged and gotten me killed but recently 1 out of every 8 shadow returns bugs out.. it will teleport me back to safety then right back to danger.. its like it knows where i’m supposed to go back to, but decides no, you are too good.. get back into the fight, you got this for real tho this keeps getting me killed … also it seems that with the lag the little shadow return symbol just disapears sometimes and i’m out of luck again.. like 2 seconds after the buff is gone! next immobilize makes it hard to shadow return why? its like the game doesn’t register it as possible

I have used sword and dagger as my main weapons since the headstart. I know very well how sword skills work.. ( i like them the way they are) if you changed #2 to leap forward then backward, you would be frustrated and just dont realize it yet. So.. do you ever click the button twice in a row / to fast and leap back then instantly back in? imagine if it was switched! and since the OP is all about being up in the enemies face this would be worse for him.. and for me

i personally dont care if they are to far away and attack and miss.. sometimes i go into stealth on my thief and backstab the air 3 times in a row for fun. All i really care about is lining up evade with things like (a hit, a block, immune) ect. those all bring the thief out of stealth except evade. if an assassin attacks but the samurai has faster reflexes the assassin is no longer hidden

i agree that sword #1 sucks.. but forrealz take it off auto attack ppl.. and i have it traited so everything is on low cd and therefor rarely even have to use sword 1

Sword #1 is bad
auto attacking players are worse ;? imo

I play an evasive ranger.. and my second most played is a thief
cleric amulet
rune of the flock
sword/ dagger for 3 evasive attacks
traited to lower sword and offhand cd’s
healing regen signet
0/0/30/10/30
16k health
1388 healing power
3k armor
50 endurance up keep
troll urguent is my heal (pop it as soon as i go into battle)
ect
ect..
now i do well against a lot of ppl.. and i hate/ love backstab but my idea on it that would personally help my main toon is.. that while the thief is stealthed and throws the backstab at me and misses ( because as soon as they disapear i start evading) i believe they should pop out of stealth!.. if they were blocked they would or if the target was immune why not evade? no harm right they can restealth in 3 sec and i do 400 damage a hit WOW lol! k im done! good day
