Shadow Step/Rocks WvW

A few times now I have been shadow stepping (Bow #5 skill) in WvW and have ran into issues of shadow stepping near the fake rock/debris on the ground in various places. If I shadow step near the rock or debris I have been getting sucked into it and have been stuck. I can still deal damage or be damaged, but cannot move or shadow step out.

I haven’t seen any issue with walls so far, thanks goodness! But the debris/rock issue is more annoying as it has lead to me dying several times. The main issue is the debris/rock on the south end of the lake, near the debris and columns of stone at the vista.

Path 2 AC Explore – Final Boss

There are so many bugs and glitches with this it is frightening. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LOOK AT THIS! We tried for over an hour and a half to get this boss to work, damage was not the issues, it is simply to full of bugs to complete. We had him at one point over a trap and dropped him almost 40% on one trap—after which he glitched and healed.

Great concept for a boss fight, just the issue that between the de-buffs, the pillars, and the heal rate of oozes, it is unbearable and depends more upon luck of the glitches, than actual skill.

BUGS:
(Below are a list of bugs and glitches that happened dozens of times, many on multiple run-troughs of the path.)

- He has countless points of inactivity and stuns that lock him from combat. For minutes at a time, making it impossible to re-activate him to continue along the fight.

- When you pull oozes, you have it negated if you have 2 lifts and 1 pull. The ooze moves no where and dies. It took us about 5 different skill types to find out that scorpion wire has a 50% chance to pull him out of his glitched state.

- After nearly 2 minutes of attacking him and pulling agro to a trap, he stopped in place, spawned 4 sets of oozes, healed half, and then de-agro’d and healed full.

- For a brief period, 30 seconds, he spawned 3 sets of oozes. Each of the ooze sets would not let us pull or lift and ooze, and would instantly be pulled back into the boss to heal him. After that 3rd set we just let the boss reset.

- AOE rings are hitting for damage at least 2 seconds before the AOE ring actually populates the visual effects.

- Random damage is taken through out the fights with no enemies, damage, projectiles, or AOEs anywhere on screen.

- Traps that are still live after a wipe (we all die and come back) are only procing the de-buff on the final boss for about a second.

- AOE damage is astronomical. Flat out that just needs to get changed. It is dropping fully-geared level 80s in 2 seconds, and flat out one-shoting level 40s and 50s.

- He does a single attack that has no animation or warning that will drop a fully geared tanky level 80. This needs to be fixed. Either add an animation, or remove this damage attack from the encounter.

Hope that helps you get some solid grasp on what bugs are running rampant in the final encounter. Hope you get them fixed too, cause again, I (and others) love the idea for the dungeon and encounter. Just need to bring some Raid-X for the bugs. :/

Condition Thief Gear

It is all about personal preference and either going for a DPS/condition or a tanky/condition. You sadly, right now, can’t go true condition on a Thief—at least not to the damage that a condition Mesmer can.

I personally do a tanky/evade/condition build that is very reliant healing through initiative spent, stacking 15-20 bleeds in a matter of 2 seconds, and then evading close to 90% of the attacks done to me during that time. It is a amazing PvE or mob build, but it mainly meant for survival and being a pest. This build it is not meant for PvP really, but can be extremely effective at soloing supply camps in WvW.

I focus on the tanky/evade part personally with throwing my #3 Death Blossom skill and doing evades 2-3 times, as well as dropping Clatrops. I have 20% cooldowns on all my Clatrops as well, which helps to spam it more. With Shadow Signet, and quickness form passives, you should RARELY get caught off-guard with this build—even in WvW you may not do damage in a PvP fight, but you will rarely die or get caught.

The primary focus of this above build is not for doing damage faster than the other player, it is simply out lasting your enemy. You should have about 1300+ condition damage (level 80 = 120+ per a bleed tick or 220+ per poison [short-bow]), which means that you can lay 15+ stacks in a second or two, and during that time take very little damage. With this build too you have +3 initiative regrowth above the normal rate. You can spam a LOT of skills at this point, especially your #3 skill.

The good news is too is that you can drop Shadow Refuge for the Shadow Signet and get close to 15 seconds of stealth with your passives stacking.

All-in-all a fun build. I will have to try the Shaman gear listed above though. The healing bonus means you will never die as a thief. Seems fun!

Thief Condition/Survivability Build Help! PVE

  • If you are building right, you should have about 15-17k health, and about 1300+ condition damage. You should be hitting level 80 mobs for about 110+ damage per a tick of bleeding. Your poison AoE from your short-bow should hit for about 220+ per a tick of poison.

Hello!

PvE Condition is a very solid build and a great survival build. You are going to want to focus on Caltrops, and evading/dodging. You gain quite a bit of swiftness, stealth, and evasion in this build—making it ideal for pulling large groups of 5-7 mobs at a time.

Your focus for this build is not on direct damage, but laying as many stacks of bleed on a target as you can before you evade out. You are primarily focused on evade rolling under people, doing your #3 Death Blossom, and laying your Caltrops. If you are stealth and can lay Caltrops on multiple targets, lead with that, otherwise just do #3 to pull agro.

This build shines bright in PvE and pulling large packs of things. Mostly all of your skills proc evades or dodges and keep you from taking any damage for close to 70% of the fight, you heal passively from your initiative you use, and you regain 3 initiative above the normal rate. This is a very bad 1v1 build in WvW, but it is the prefect build for a thief who wants to solo and entire supply camp without even loosing 15% health.
