Would like to see a developer response to this. Are these things going to be looked at and fixed/updated?
Noble Armor should be the the intricate embroidered insignia recipes that you can buy from your craftskill trainer. They are incremented in levels which you can see on mouseover & karma costs.
Example: Fatboy Hamil in LA sells..
Recipe: Ravaging Intricate Wool Insignia ~ 350 karma. Mouseover says leaterworking (125). and it takes wool which is a lower level craft item. This when combined with any 2 armor component parts (boot soles and boot upper as an example) will make the Noble Rare Armor of the Appropriate Level, which in the case of wool is L35.
On a related note these insignias take 15 of component X to make, where X is blood, fang, bone etc.. Also anyone can make the insignia. You don’t have to have the recipe to use it.
Hope that helps.
Okay. I think it makes a bit more sense though, however – here’s where my confusion comes from.
For example:
Hearty Noble – http://www.gw2db.com/recipes/9997-hearty-noble-coat
Hearty Outlaw – http://www.gw2db.com/recipes/5225-hearty-outlaw-coatWhen crafting something, they use the exact same components except for the difference in insignia ranks. You’re saying that by using an insignia of a higher tier with the same recipe will yield a totally different piece of armor, as opposed to making the same piece (in this case assume an upgraded Outlaw piece)?
Yes that is correct. The intricate insignia will make the Noble set only at various levels depending on the type of cloth used and you will need to buy the recipe or the pre-made insignia to create the armor.
Intricate Embroidered Wool Insignia
Intricate Embroidered Silk Insignia
etc…
You can look at the insignias as ranks that progress
(cloth type) Insignia – makes fine (blue) items
(cloth type) Embroidered Insignia – makes masterwork (green) items
(cloth type) Intricate Embroidered Insignia – makes rare (yellow) items

I had considered that and I still couldn’t find any vendors via Googles that provided the remaining patterns. I can’t tell if I’m just missing it or it’s just not yet available. I’d hate to manually go check all golden heart Karma vendors for something that may or may not exist.
I used Dulfy’s list of karma vendors to check for recipes that I couldn’t find to see if I missed someone (they are images on his/her site broken down by zone except for the L80ish zones). Could try that but I don’t recall even seeing them.
I personally enjoy having only materials drop and all gear crafted (yes, there is a game that does that), but I feel that lowering the drop-rate of gear and increasing material drops (if needed) would increase demand in crafted items, both for personal use and on the trading post.
You would need to increase the drop rate of vendor trash then to compensate for the loss of money people would make adventuring so that they could actually afford crafted gear in order to keep the cash flow balance.
The economy with crafted items is waaaaay off-track. Supply is huge, and there is zero demand. World drops are cheap and better.
Which means as we craft, we are only making vendor trash. Expensive to craft vendor trash. We need to take an insane amount of “trophies” to make inscriptions and insignias, that end up completely worthless.
The only reason, at all, to craft is to discover what the look of the item is if we want to transmute it. But, we could just buy the item made for cheap (1 bronze more than it vendors for….) off the Trade Post. Sadly, we still don’t know what any of the sets look like unless we discover them, because the Wiki is lethargic with pictures to show us.
It’s a sad state of affairs.
Crafting should either be superior because of how expensive/difficult it is to farm Trophy drops like Claws and Blood, or the drop rate (of the Trophies) increased immensely, since the crafted gear is worthless so it isn’t like we are getting ahead. The crafted gear has no runes on it, but dropped greens do, and are insanely cheap on the Trade Post. The imbalance is glaring.
And yes, much of the Leather Armor in the game is very sad to look upon. It is beautiful in a minimalist way, but after looking quite plain for 50 levels, you’d hope to find something more than solid color leather gear with little detail and few dye channel options. It’s bland. (the cloth armor, especially on female characters has tons of details and color channels to make unique looks, before level 20. Medium gets giant patches of solid colors……)
Still happy, but I was seriously expecting more, especially with how detailed the concept art was. The execution…. not so much.
Check other fan sites…. I’ve posted this at various times. I find the wiki a nightmare to update with some of the things un-findable in how to update it so I don’t bother for some things.
I have shouted out in LA to see what something looks like crafted and that is a pain for sure. Without the ability to preview off the Trading Post it’s quite irritating. Fortunately that feature is in the works, though there is no ETA.

This and Lyssa are bugged on Crystal Desert.
Vanilla beans are also scarce it seems :/ are these tree or herb patch items now? They’re used in Baker’s wet ingredients and a few other, which of course are used in even more recipes.
These never should have been removed from the vendors.

I’d like to point out they said they’re improving the end rewards significantly and that everyone who’s already completed it will be able to get the better rewards
They already did that. The bags went from 5 down to 3….my 3 still stank worse then a rotten quaggan corpse.
On a related note 2 of the doorways into missions were right on top of monster spawns, which invariably lead to repair bills on exiting the mission. These were Grenth temple and one that was 2 or so before that one.
VERY Uncool when the items gained in the mission didn’t even add up to 3s.
EDIT:
Random Disconnects during your personal story SUCK!. Being forced to redo a whole mission again and again due to some random disconnect is really frustrating. Why isn’t there a rejoin instance feature like in gw1 where if I get disconnected I can reenter my personal story where I left off as an option….all mobs killed still dead etc..
(edited by Imaginos.3756)
So I just finished Arah Story mode and then went into the end game Personal Story and here are my thoughts on these two things.
Arah
I enjoyed the story but this whole “dungeon” is immersive breaking. This whole time I’ve been working with Trahearne and it’s been myself or him as the center of this, then suddenly I’m forced to group with 4 other people to finish my “Personal Story”. Worse yet I’m not even in the cutscenes as the one who brought destiny’s edge back together and did all the earlier legwork, which my “Personal Story” has shown to be the case for 80 levels. This is poorly done ArenaNet and detracts from the overall gameplay.
The idea of redoing that mission over and over in exploration mode is even worse. What Zhaitan puts itself back together and we get to blow it up again and again and again?
Arah Mission has issues too. Far too difficult to target the dragons with the guns. Hitting T to assist a party member who had one targeted did nothing. Hitting tab to target the only enemy on the screen (the dragons) did nothing. Clicking on the dragon randomly all over it’s body worked about 10% of the time. Frustrating!
Reward
At the end of it all I get 3 loot bags and a blueprint I will never ever use and can’t sell and what is my loot? 3 crappy greens that I can get from mobs outside in Orr anytime. Pure junk and a huge letdown. I was hoping for an upgrade not vendor fodder. The 44s was mediocre too but at least it was something. It’ll cover repair bills for the mission at least.
The 1k scroll for a guild is great if you have a guild, which I do, so I did appreciate that and thought that was fantastic.
Suggested Fixes
- Cutscene: Either make each person’s character the center of all the cutscenes during story mode or Redo the mission as a Solo Mission. It’s pretty foolish that I need to bring 4 other players to finish my “Personal Story”.
- Rewards: Nothing less then at least 1 rare should be awarded for finishing the game and 1 gold. Perhaps an option of the blueprint or extra money equaling 1g total (end mission money + reward money).
Final Thoughts
Thought the story was interesting enough and I liked how it all played out until the very end which was very disappointing and really let me down. I’ve seen the stories ArenaNet can write and expect top quality stuff from you (Anet) at all times. That’s how good of a Game Company I think Anet is in general.
Please consider another revamp to this end game story to really have it make an impact in all forms.
Thank You
Imaginos
p.s. I really liked the painterly cutout animated end montages. They were fantastic!
It could be a bug that they’re missing or in a really weird zone. For example the iron legon helm recipe (L17 armor helm) is located in….Ebonhawke…a zone far beyond L17. All the other parts are in diessa plateau.
Yah I could care less about getting experience after 400 skill doing discoveries…I just want to be able to do them
A week or so ago someone posted on guru or reddit (sorry can’t remember) that they could not make discoveries at 400. The button would stay greyed out even when discovering a recipe that should have existed, like making a pair of ravaging shoulders that they hadn’t made before hitting 400.
Is this bug still around? Are any of you experiencing this?
And ArenaNet doesn’t seem to want you to make money in any form by converting your time gaining karma into goods/items that you can sell to others. Puts a crimp in market play and lowers fun in general.
At least they’re account bound instead of character bound, which is a good thing.
I don’t care about TP profits; I don’t post on it. I do care about spending HOURS farming an entire zone and not getting enough mats to make ONE (1) item. That’s just ridiculous.
This. 1000x this.
Obviously no one has the Thyme to give you an answer….joking aside I think I saw some sage in some of the 70ish level zones. Never seen rosemary at all :/ Wish I could be of more help.

http://www.facebook.com/GuildWars2Look there for current info, they are neglecting to make a news post about the downtime on the forums in any sensible location.
This should be in the forums in the news section and updated constantly. Who gives a crap about some lamekitten social networking site. Those are not official outlets nor are they professional enough to be such news outlets.
This is bad form ArenaNet. Use your forums first then your social networking outlets.
Transmuting should not be the end all be all answer to various nerfs you guys implement. Karma items should still be salvageable instead of not.
Its the carlton dance, whats not to love?
Stupidest crap I’ve ever seen. Hate it with the intensity of 1000 suns.
Is that dance vendor actually working ingame with dances we can buy so I can replace this stupid crap on my Norns?
As it was said before, one skill HAD to bite the bullet from the Norn Racial elites. Norn already have more racial elites than other races, so giving them a new skill is a bad idea, it would be unfair for ALL of them to be 10 points, and there’s no need to switch it with another form or put another form up there with it to punish other people.
It’s unfair to snow leopard people to pay 30 pts. No racial elite needs to be in the second tier. We already have second tier elites in our professions.
Snow Leopard has stealth.
So what? Wolf gets a lifesteal and an aoe party buff. The others have their good points too.
I just want to say, don’t have a brainurism. you will unlock all your skills before you know it. and racial elites aren’t that great anyway.
That’s not the point. The point is that they’re (snow leopard worshipers) being charged 3x as much for no more benefit then any other norn transformation elite. It should be changed.
(edited by Imaginos.3756)
Snow Leopard elite skill costs 30 points to unlock, yet every other “spirit / transformation elite form” costs 10. Why are snow leopard players being punished for wanting/choosing snow leopard as a spirit guide/mentor?
Yes we can choose other forms as they’re not locked out but there is no reason for snow leopard to cost so much more then the other norn racial elites. It’s not more powerful, it doesn’t have 1/3 the cooldown so why the increased cost.
Norn racial elites don’t need two tiers to buy and if you MUST put an elite skill in there, then make up a new one that will cost 30 points and stop punishing people who only want Snow Leopard form.
I went from just under 100 jewelcrafting to 350 in about 2 hours
I was level 74 when I started so I had several mats already and suplimented from the TP where needed. I started at 2 gold 35 silver and some copper I made stuff purchased stuff and sold stuff and ended with 1 gold 50 silver and some copper (tho I did get lower than that at points). I also went from level 74 to 80
I made base items then discovered everything else. that’s it
Worst tradeskill to talk about, outside of cooking. You don’t use blood and stuff. you only use gems and they seem to be in pretty fair amounts on the TP and you can upgrade gems yourself which you can’t do easily or in any decent quantity with fine crafting materials.
I make sure I craft everything in discoverable mode, I have not used the same recipe more than once unless a friend throws some mats at me to make a gun or something. “Trash” is me making a bunch of different weapons that I don’t even use but need to because I can’t make 15 types of Greatswords and Bows, even more worthless because random drops are giving me better gear that’s at my own level.
Seriously either get rid of leveling all together or make the amount of mats needed to make inscriptions/insignias much lower and much easier to obtain.
It was lower in beta for the master insignias then they upped it and crippled crafting a bit. used to be 3 for first set of insignias then 5 for next set. now it’s 3 and 8 and the rares are 15.
Game framerate has gone tokitten within the last week

A bit over a week ago the game was running just fine on my system with very little lag or framerate issues. Now every update it gets worse. I’m getting bad framerates/lag/staggering-slideshows in areas I never did like metricia province at all times.
Nothing has changed on my system.

Guardians don’t seem to have an underwater elite either
I’m having 2 issues since the last 2 patches (within an hour of each other iirc).
Issue 1 is that I can not place a buy order at all. When I hit “Buy” nothing happens. The button doesn’t respond in any way, shape or form.
Issue 2 is that I can’t buy stuff normally for the Buy It Nao! Price. When I click on the Buy button it goes grey, waits a bit and then lights up with no Ok letting me know I’ve purchased anything.
Fortunately the money isn’t withdrawn in either issue, however these 2 issues make the BLTC unusable by me for most stuff.
