No, sir. Check back in another year or two. Perhaps then a temporary fix will be in the works. This goes for all the other problems in this game as well, except for the thief profession. They’ll perpetually continue nerfing thieves on every patch introduction until the end of time.
Thx bud, ya ill check back in a month or two, hopefully its fixed before this game becomes obsolete lol
Hey Fellas, checking in again, its been another month. Any word on the player rendering issue? (Particularly in WvW?)
Even if you have 20 ssd in raid-0 configuration, the bad networking protocol still makes it so you won’t see more than aprox. 40 total players (randomly being friendlies or enemies). I was running with ~20 people zerg and encountered the enemies, just a few, around the same size. We were wiped in under 20 seconds and when my zerg finally started to disappear, the enemies started to spawn in. It’s almost like there is, besides the culling issue, a pure issue in the network protocol preventing any serious large-group play. Stick to skirmishing!
In order to win in WvW you need a main zerg that is comanded by some elite players and keeps the newbies and casual funseekers in decent order, those groups will always be large, and if you are like me you like big battles.
things/people render very quickly for me, so maybe it’s you…..or maybe I’m just lucky lol
for me sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn’t…
Can’t really put my finger on it, but it’s still here for sure.In a weird way it can be extremely funny having a 50 player zerg spawn all around you out of nowhere.
But that joke gets old pretty fast of course.
Its a major problem, i dont play WoW at all anymore and i dislike Blizzard, but i noticed in all their massive battles they had character models pre-rendered all the way across the map, rather than on the fly.
If this was a war game, or like a first person shooter, imagine if you were a sniper, you would be completely out of luck xD
Its bad for big orginized guilds like the on i was in, makes tactics really dumb, and i mean really, really dumb
things/people render very quickly for me, so maybe it’s you…..or maybe I’m just lucky lol
They render quickly? Perhaps you are missing the gameplay element, im talking about large scale battles, i expirenced problems in big groups that didnt show player/monster models right off the bat. Its not about fast rendering, the models should be there long before i get within 20 yards
What a shame, guess ill check back in a few months then thx guys
I quit a few months ago due to the fact i could not see other players in big groups, has this been fixed? thx for answer.
Why do people care about there being bots, never got that, I understand Anet would care but they don’t affect my game experience in any way.
Uh, yes they do.
They put gold into the market, and thus raise the amount of gold, thus lowering the “Value” of your gold.
And plus, you know how hard it is to tag in events when their is 35 bots in an area being a pain? It comes and goes, some areas its worse then others, but man, sometimes its gross.
I LOVE to explore and climb and stuff, so its really annoying to be off in the shiverpeaks where not many people are and seeing the landscape without many people, I duoed a group event with some ranger who said “High five!” afterwards, that was great!
I go back to queensdale and what do I see? bots bots and more bots. And that KILLS any sense of good feeligns I had. And thats no fun.
Thats called immersion, a very big part of an MMO, in whatever fantasy land that was made by arenanet, i dont imagine they intended heroes to be doing the same exact task for 300 hrs nonstop, i think that just eliminates the sense of danger, maybe tyria is truley saved, and its time to move on.

It actually wont bother me much at all, especially if they a few and far between, but ill be derned if there are so many around an event that i cant kill anything, that its all dead before it even shows on my screen!
Got into a really good guild, finished my story, enjoyed my engineer fully and absolutely adored the game to death, i couldnt get enough of it! Many hour each day, i even got the collectors edition which is really nice.
However, there are 2 things that i learned can really turn me off in an MMO, no matter how Fudging good it is.
Botting
Lack of decent rendering
Botting is a clear problem that really wont bother me all THAT much, but it really burns me to the bone when it gets in the way of my gameplay, and shows itself bodly as if to spit in my progress and say “Theres a bot for that, for 30 bucks you coulda done all this and more without even playing” Guild wars 2 had such a compelling story i could care less if there were 3 million bots, but afterwars wheni wanted to do a bit of off the path adventuring i found myself getting angry when i came across a fellow traveler who fooled me into thinking it was a real person.
Lack of rendering in the WvW is no joke, its a VERY serious ditterent, and i am very surprised that a prestiguous company like ANET would mess up like this, its VERY serious. The guild i was in had to adapt to this, through all the complaining and wow this is fudging stupid. Our comanders found ways to cope and win every fight like this, it was nice to win at first, but after a while it just seemed tedious and repetative, there was no way to tell what was going on, just throwing down aoe’s hoping to hit a hot spot.
When those two problems get fixed, ill be back into guild wars 2, until then the game just doesnt seem fun anymore to me, strange, guess its just me.
I think its fine, i enjoy fighting an endless stream of bad guys, makes me feel that much more BA, and in cursed shore it encorages groups.
Did some completion today, ran into some “players” who i thought would enjoy doing it with me, unfortunatly many were unresponsive, about 90% to be clear. Seems like bots are getting more sophisticated and mimic the response of an actual player, they move around randomly, they dont attack instantly, yet they preferom the same generic actions for days.
Saw a few bots at launch at the repair quest in the human starting area (keep centuars from reparing the bridge!) It kept me from being able to do it becouse the centuars would die before ever being seen, and i kinda wanted to see what happened if they actually did repair the bridge, guess i never will.
I dont understand whats so hard about banning a bot ANET. You have been merciless about your banning in the past when it came to game breakers. If i were part of your security team i would be able to detect and ban over 300 bots in under 2 hours. Isnt that future revenue anyways?
I report all the bots i see, i know thats what your going to tell me to do, i just wanted to share my general thought on the matter, its getting out of control, and im pretty sure anyone not from RUIN is going to agree with me.
P.S. My biggest fear is some rumors i heard of ANET getting a % profit off 3rd party bot sales, lets all hope its just a rumor.

I wish they could fix it with this though, i mean thats just rediculous!
This is a slight detail that bugs me. It really does, at times have been made fun of it too. In fact id rather have my armor clipping my heels than something like this. If you cant see the pic, this is describing how the sheild on the char’s arm is no where near touching it, its not even close!
I have by no means surpased the learning curve of the engineer, i dont think anyone has, there is so much improvement to be made to such small things all the time and nothing can be considered main stream at the moment, which is what i feel makes this class very speacial.
However, i find that whenever im pitted against another class it becomes very difficult to outdo someone in any particular feild (WvW and pve im fine with, this relates to mists) I feel like engineer holds most of its potential in BIG plays, strategic big bomb placement, good use of supporting skills, and perhaps some crazy turret placement and jug/nado elixer.
In my current group of 5, tottally non sleazzy group of freinds who have played mists about 9 times, my job is to hold one point down as best i can and alert them when im under attack. HOWEVER, i dont know if this can be viable becouse its very difficult to 1v1 someone, it seems like anyone can kill me off if they are patient enough, so if a big battle is going on at the main, and its my duty to hold the point, im almost guranteed to fail eventually……
Am i playing wrong or is engineer more focused toward big team battles and WvW scenarios?
There are a few theories ..
1) its based on amount of contribution, and only a certain # of top contributors get the reward. Contribution equates to damage and healing.
2) perhaps only the first x amount of players to tag it can get an award
The second point makes since in many ways, i feel there is a bit of over optimization becouse sometimes i see a group of centuars attacking and after a while they spawn and instantly fall over dead before i even saw them, strange.
I saw it go up and shatter, then i looked around for something to loot, didnt see anything
So there was this big dragon that came out of the sky, shatter i think it was, did a ton a damage with my morter as an engineer, was very sad to not get any loot or anything for it. Im pretty sure im supposed to get stuff since most other players were talking about the loot they got, i felt pretty sick afterwards.
