Guild Wars 2

I thought it would be good to consolidate our offers of guild mergers and alliances into one forum topic. There have been a lot of guilds posting and instead of people going through pages of a variety of posts that don’t discuss it, if we all focus our “ads” for our guilds in one it will be easier for people to navigate to a server that is relevant to them and that has guilds looking to ally/merge.

If you have already posted a topic for your guild on this subject you can just post a link to that current topic here if you like.

Suggestions on Post Info:

1) Server
2) Guild Info (Type – PvE/WvW/PvX, Population Size, Casual/Hard Core, Etc)
3) Current Upgrade Categories Completed
4) Mission Goals/Interests (What you’re looking for.)
5) Contact IDs (Guild Leaders/Officers)

Decent Guild Roster Status

However that was GW1 and not GW2 lol I do remember another precautionary measure we used in GW1 so we didn’t kick active guildies. 1 Message sent and if no response in 1-2 weeks depending on severity and how much we liked them >.> boot. lol

Yeah though really, having timestamps on last login would be great to see again!

Problem with sending a message is that when you have 200+ people and a wait time between after sending 2 mails it takes forever….trust me I tried this with only 50 when we had a lower roster count. >_> We really really need to have a last login date for the account, not character, but account since the account is what is in the roster.

Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v but yeah time stamps would be nice on roster I agree :P

Unfortunately the copy/pasta or screenshot doesn’t work when you have more than yourself inviting to the guild. Trust me if I could have tracked it with their roster history, I would have. There is just too much going into that history section with that many people. Thank you for your suggestion though, the benevolence did not go unnoticed. =)

Looking for small-medium sized WvW/PvE guild

I’ll admit that my own guild I Wanna Be A Super Villain [EVIL] is more PvE based; despite my efforts to get a more active WvW force. That said, our guild might not be the one for you, but I would encourage you to look at our server Blackgate. It’s Upper-mid tier currently and has a very active WvW force.

Blackgate is in the top 5 for WvW on US servers & is a US/AUS/Oceanic server. The main WvW guild Lords of the Dead has been an active PvP guild since 1997 and leads the charge for the WvW guilds on Blackgate. It is a highly focused and dedicated server for WvW and does very well, usually ending up on top at the end of the WvW Ranking battle.I would encourage you to scout out: www.blackgatewvw.com for some of our WvW guilds. =) There are several great options like: LotD, ICoa, LLB, RUIN, etc…to name a few (these are just a same of some of the large WvW guilds that I can remember off the top of my head, not who is the “best.” Good luck!

Three things I would like to add to Thorzilla.9124’s suggestions and your own:

1) Guild Message of the Day Posted in Guild Chat

This should be posted in guild chat upon login!!!! Hardly anyone looks at the roster regularly from what I’ve seen. If the kitten message was posted in guild chat upon login the people would actually have some semblance of communication in game on a mass scale for guilds. I don’t know about other guild leaders, but even with maintaining an active forum it is horrendously hard to get people to join on a guild website so they can get updated news about events in a casual guild. This would at least help somewhat!

2) Guild Info Tab/Page

The guild panel should have a section where the guild can post basic information. The Guild Message of the Day should not have to be used for this:

1. Brief Guild Summary
2. Website Info
3. VOIP (TS/Vent/Mumble) Info

3) Mass Mail System

Have a mass mail system available to the guild leader would enable much better mass communication in-game for guilds. It is nightmarishly hard to get people to pay attention to a guild website because they want to just play their game, especially casual players. It is incredibly difficult to organize people without good communication. By inhibiting guild leaders with the cooldown for sending mail to their members after two mails you’re inhibiting communication. I once did mail to 50+ members in guild, before my guild became a 200+ guild, and it took a couple hours! This is ridiculous and not an option with a large guild or even a small one!

If the guild interface had these three options it would allow for much better in-game communication!

I was guild leader and I'm now the lowest ranking member

Sorry to hear this happened to you. Hope ANet gets off their kitten and helps you out. I share a co-leadership with my boyfriend for our guild [EVIL] so because we both have full access this would never happen to us, thankfully. My one question for you is: If you were going to re-title versus re-rank yourself, why didn’t you just rename your current guild leader title and/or change the icon versus making a new rank all together? o-o I’ve done this several times myself and there is no danger of undoing my guild leadership. I realize they should probably have a fail proof system, but this mistake could have been avoided entirely if you had done that instead. =(

Better Guild tools for leaders and guildies

Need a way of sending mails to all my guildies about changes and event coordination. I waste so much time pasting in announcements and sending them one at a time to guild members. Waiting on the messing to not be blocked. Thankfully the guild is not huge otherwise i would never get to play.

Why cannot I not have a system to send Mail to: All guild members or Guild members of a specific rank??? The system should work as a sign-up service if you are in the guild you “opt-in” for guild mails from other guildies with the permissions to send guild mails.

The permission could be managed like any other permission given by higher ranking guild members.

BTW guys your “History” tab in the guild pane has all the info on member’s join dates. I rank by time in guild and cooperation. So this is important to me. I built a excel doc to help track membership and participation. (someone has a touch of the OCD)

Once you get enough data in the history, the “join date” disappears….>_> I agree on the mass mail system this would be extremely helpful for mass communication.

Better Guild tools for leaders and guildies

Agree with Thorzilla.9124’s post on all accounts. We need a better way to manage the roster that doesn’t require massive time effort and micromanaging on the guild leader’s part to do this. I tried to allocate this information in a spreadsheet to track the people in my guild because people can be in multiple guilds and are added by their user ID and not the character. I did this so we could have an ACTIVE roster, but it ended up being a part-time job for gods sake. In the end once I couldn’t handle doing it anymore, (because it was blatantly ruining the game for myself) the effort to keep people active went to waste just due to mass amounts of people in guild. My guild has over 200 people. We need better a better management system!

Two things I would like to add to Thorzilla.9124’s suggestions:

Here is a little about us:

We’re a adult PvX guild that has a large community that is active 24/7 (usually 15-25 players at all hours) and are comprised of players from the USA, CAN, AUS, NZ, and other oceanic areas. =) There is typically a core group of players, amongst the large throng, that are always online. There is always chatter and friendly banter available; as well as, active gameplay with guildies. The primary objective of the guild is to play and chat with our fellow guildies by exploring the maps, questing, defeating dungeons, completing challenging jumping puzzles, and participating in WvW. These boosts include: +5% EXP, +10% Magic Find, +15% Karma, +10 Gathering Bonus. Through grouping and playing together we have and will continue to accrue influence to maintain boosts and future upgrades that benefit all members. We’re trying to take over the world, one innocent bystander at a time. We would look forward to playing with you in the game!

We’re a adult PvX guild that has a large community that is active 24/7 (usually 15-25 players at all hours) and are comprised of players from the USA, CAN, AUS, NZ, and other oceanic areas. =) There is typically a core group of players, amongst the large throng, that are always online. There is always chatter and friendly banter available; as well as, active gameplay with guildies. We regularly participate in group events like the MAW in Wayfarer Foothills, which has become a guild favorite for leveling; as well as, dungeons and the Elder dragons (high lvl open world raids). We’re looking forward to participating in the new Guild Mission system!

The primary objective of the guild is to play and chat with our fellow guildies by exploring the maps, questing, defeating dungeons, completing challenging jumping puzzles, and participating in WvW. We are a Level 5 guild, this means maxed out guild upgrades, who regularly keep up guild boots for our guild mates. These boosts include: +5% EXP, +10% Magic Find, +15% Karma, +10 Gathering Bonus. I had stopped running in GW2 Dungeons because I felt that the drop rate and rewards system was to low for the time sync Dungeons had become. I was use to time sync with rewards to match the time spent, the GW2 Dungeons were so poor thus I stopped.

Just this month I decided to try again and was pleasantly surprised and felt encouraged to try again…until I read about the newest change and the removal of the “res-rush” (as you call it.)

In other games we at least had the option to drag a character or rez them during a fight with relative safety and rush back in to help our team. After all accidents do happen no matter how good the team is. GW2 does not allow even this small feature. For Shame.

You can now once again count me out of any Dungeons on GW2, just no longer worth it.

Inclined to agree on the lack of rewards, and time sink. Also, agree that trying to res people is highly punishing in this game. I tend to see people die the most trying to res someone else. You’ll see a few players try to res and all 3 go down for the 1 they were trying to get back up. The entire reason that people “res-rush” as you call it is because it’s a 70% chance that you’ll fail and die in the process. The mob(s) end up targeting you or dropping AOEs that you can’t get out of fast enough. o-O

I would really enjoy dungeons better if the party limit was set to eight, like in Guild Wars, instead of five and that tanking builds would be allowed to take the heat off of weaker armored classes. Also if the dungeon difficulty would be scaled to how many members you have in the party, and healing skills are a bit stronger.

Wow, 8?!? That would be awesome! I would love to be able to take more people in. Perhaps the difficulty could be scaled depending on the number of players in the dungeon between 5-8?

I would love to see some level equivalent rewards. I didn’t start doing dungeons till way late in the game, so I haven’t seen some of the dungeons until later, some I still haven’t explored as of yet. It would be nice to go into any of the dungeons with my guild mates and earn a reward I might actually use. Ex. Going in to Caudecus’ Manor at 65 and receiving an item that is soulbound to me that’s 40 is useless and discourages me from doing dungeons with my guildies because there is literally no benefit to my time spent other than helping them. It would be awesome if you could scale the gear reward for completing the dungeon to the actual level of the player. Thanks!

Not sure there is a lockdown between EU/NA on dungeons between servers? The ANet posting wasn’t that specific at this point. At least currently you can dungeon with people on different server. (I know this because I had a guild officer invite someone into guild they did a dungeon with and that person ended up being on an entirely different server.) So at least at this point as far as anyone can tell based on the current information this won’t affect dungeons, because you’re effectively instanced and on another server to begin with. I’d wait for details if you’re primarily concerned about dungeons grouping.

The abuse was stopped by making transfers having a 7 day cooldown. People can’t just jump to the winning server all the time anymore, like they did when transfers were unrestricted. Large guilds leaving their servers for greener pastures – the new ‘feature’ isn’t going to stop that at all. It’s not like it would now magically stop bandwagoneer guilds to migrate to a different server once in a while, no?

Sorry, but I’d beg to differ. The two servers I’ve seen go ghost were after the 7 day cooldown was enacted. People didn’t care about the cooldown. They’d see how WvW did, then if it proved to be terrible they’d move the next week. Simple as that. And making it cost gems will pause some folks. Constantly transfering will be expensive in-game and in real life. I’d imagine they’ll make it cost as least as much as a new character slot. Not everyone in a guild is going to be able to afford to move, and I doubt the guild itself will pay for it lol. I’m hoping it works. I feel bad for the people who want cross region. I’m on an oceanic server so I don’t have that probelm. Hopefully they’ll modify that aspect and make it work between all the servers.

Glad they’re finally doing this and make it cost gems to transfer servers as well! With people having the ability to transfer servers every 7 days it’s turned two of the servers I’ve been on into ghost towns! People have been abusing it for WvW far too often. =/ Not to mention the flux of people makes the market go completely whacky as well. I just wish they’d implemented this patch before Isle of Janthir started becoming a ghost town too. =(
