Well, I love the game, love the fact that Anet puts so much effort inta making things like the Halloween Event, and love that at level 80 I only got 54% of the world discovered, so I’ve a ton of content I can still do.
Yeah, yeah, there are bugs an’ broken events an’ all, an’ ya can’t think Anet isn’ lookin’ inta them … but fixes take time; I ain’ goin’ anywhere.

I love how someone said something like this: ’ Where’s the problem ? I did 5000 forges and got 3 precursors.’
Well that’s kittening great. Now if you’d use your brain for just a second, you will maybe realise how RNG works. I can do 15 000 forges and still get absolutely nothing. If I spend 400gold forging and get nothing, then farm another 50gold and go for another spree, then that does not mean I have higher chances. ‘Oh I’ve spent so much gold I have to get it now!!’…
And then there’s: ‘Oh hey I got my Dusk after 40 tries, where’s the problem guys ? You all just complain for no reason duh, 2 ez l2p.’
Really please get a clue.
Hi ?Rng is bad and doesn’t belong in this game. So far legendary needs you to do dungeons, wvw, events, rng(clovers) etc random stuff, but it does not involve any skills or achievements and it definitely should. Fix the broken system please.
1. Why RNG is a bad thing to this game please explain. It’s a perfectly designed gold sink to keep the economy healthy plus drive up the interest for the in game purchase if necessary.
2. I would strongly argue that clover is the rng. In my process getting my clover (also with information from many of my friends) that clover is roughly 1 clover per 3~4 tries. You are almost guaranteed (95%+) to have your 77 clovers with in 300 tries. So I honestly DON’T think clover is the rng game given the truth that the 77 sample size is good enough to prove the ratio.
3. Those with dire luck evens out the lucky guy with several tries to get the precursors. I believe this is what frustrated people. The outliers comparison. I would say I feel for you bro, I throw in about 100 80 rares before I decided to just collect my gold and buy it. There are some tricks to play the mystic forge which would allow u mitigate the bad streak of luck. Same as salvage ectos. You can find a way to tell how those rng system works.
Good Luck with trying to sell your Precusors everything will change on 15th November sell it till you can.
To the original poster: I personally see no reason anything would change after Nov, 15th. It’s a pretty successful model as of now and the price is okay. I spent 16 hours playing during the weekend netted me 50+ gold simply from farming, and another 5 gold from trading (not much, I’m not spending much time on it too). So I would say good luck on your expectation and keep up with the farming.
For those who does hoarding on legendaries (obviously I’m not one of them). Right now the arbitrage is quite stabilized and we do have legendary R&D thread going on in forums. So trying to monopolizing the market to blindly raise the price won’t really do much of a gain with the re-listing fee. People even with bad luck would still be able to get a precursor at the cost less than 250g on great swords. Though I admit whatever you guys doing are in any sense legit which follows the market rule (supply / demand).
People in this thread made me laugh. “Oh 300g is too much”, “Oh, I don’t want to grind” “Oh…”
My word is, sure and it just proved that you are not that in to the legendary. Just put aside all the other discussion around. For the rarity case, if let’s say 50% of the people would be able to get a legendary within 3 month. Do you think it’s legendary at all? Or say if even 10% of people can get it. U like it u work for it. U don’t have the time / endurance to grind through, pay money to buy it.
Give time everyone could collect enough gold for legendary, those who are just complaining like little kid rolling on the floor asking for candy. The current settings doesn’t need to be change at all. If you really think precursor is the issue, then I would say you haven’t think it through and even if they “gave” you a precursor, chances are you are still not be able to make it to the end.
If we really checking the market of the precursors, it is pretty stable now, why? Because the price is coming towards the average cost of gambling. ANet is doing an awesome job on in-game economy. Those who complaint just don’t have the brain to make money out of the market or don’t have the heart to take the sank cost of gamble or just simply lazy.
You don’t like the high price, DON’T go for legendary, nobody is forcing you. You are not underpowered in any sense. You want something? Show some respect and stand up to get it. There are already tens of people if not hundreds getting their legendaries. If they can do it, so can you. If you can’t do it, complaint only shows that you’re weak and don’t deserve it AT ALL.

I suspect for Anet the more important thing for them right now is to provide more and more content to the game rather than simple have some artiest to plainly add more armor skins into the store.
However I believe they are doing things in parallel so just be more patient more skins are coming to the store for sure.
I wouldn’t mind to have 100s of skins available for choices.

I’m interested in collecting armor skins and transmuting those skins into the stats that I want with the crafted armors. One thing I noticed is that the “prefix” of the armor which is supposed to be the stats of the armor is not changing after transmutation.
E.g. I transmuted a “berserker’s pit fighter xxx of xxx” with a “knight draconic xxx”, I kept the skin, and the rune from the pit fighter, and stats (the knight stats) from the crafted draconic armor. In the end the name of the armor is still showing as “berserker’s pit figher xxx of xxx (transmuted)” and the actual stats on the armor is the knight stats (of course I transmuted it)
My argument is I suppose that the pre-fix is for the armor stats, the name of the armor is for the skin, and the post-fix is for the rune/upgrades of the armor, so after transmutation it should be named “knight’s pit fighter xxx of xxx”. Otherwise it’s really weird by seeing an armor with knights stats named “berserker’s”

I feel for you. It’s a brave and bold try out. However, please when u do such things around, you may as well ask around 1st instead of go “NIKE to just do it”.
I see another guy from another forum posting the same effort using 4 dungeon GS in the hope of precursors and get even worse result (at least u had the sigil of bloodlust).
I have a level 80 character running the explore dungeons for past few weeks. The goal obviously is trying to get the better gears. But after I have farmed enough AC tokens to get the whole armor sets and weapons I desire to use, I find myself wondering what’s next for me. I have no reason to try to farm other dungeons any longer, since they all give out same stats of armor sets, only with different look to it. My friends has also stopped running explore dungeons because there isn’t better armors and weapons to farm in the game.
It would be nice if Arena net could make all explore mode dungeons unlock at level 80. You need to farm enough from first explore dungeon, so you can get enough tokens to buy armors, therefore prepare yourself for second(even harder) explore dungeon and so on.
I am not worry about my character being too powerful in 1-15 zone, the truth is my friends and I rarely go back to the lower level zone for dynamic events anymore. Few times we have gone back are for dungeons and halloween event(collecting candy corns). Besides, We have find ourselves super powerful in lower level zone anyways. I could even complete most of the dynamic events just by myself.
I feel the cool weapon skins could only carry the game so far, the stats are what’s important. Everytime I pick up an armor piece, I am looking at the stats first then judge on the look later. Guild wars 2 is an awsome game, I just hope it can give more reasons for people like me to stay in the beautiful world of Tyria longer.
I think what OP was trying to present is that he enjoyed this game very much and intend to spend more and more time in GW2. However as a traditional MMORPG player we are used to the style that we all used to grind for better “stats” instead of just the “look of it”. It sort of the thinking of the utilitarian, that we are actually working towards something other than “beauty”.
What I’m trying to state IMO is if we really think deeper about it. We are grinding just so that we can stop grinding and do things that we like. If you only interested grinding then pretty much the achievement feel we left is bound to a boring and painful process which I would highly doubt to be enjoyable as of now.
One thing is for sure that player do “need” the feel of a “better” in maybe stats or some sort of achievement. So maybe there are more challenge can be add to the dungeons or some harder event chain challenges so that those players who did that may got some award to be able to gain some strength for some period of time and also be “different looking”
Another thing is taking another perspective. Those booster sold in the store is consider a “stat bonus” so that if u grind for gold and then buy those things you are essentially “stat better” and the cost is actually maybe less than a traditional “wow” grind. It’s just not that to be a show off.

What I’m trying to say is if all those materials for legendaries are account bound and you’ve spent so much time on it to finally obtained it. Should it (or could it) be account bound?
I know few people would have the time to make the same legendary for different chars.
there is no such thing in game that’s absolutely unobtainable over time and some bit of luck. So a free and open market to it’s maximum extend is the healthiest way to keep everything in place. Just like what we are doing everyday in real life.
Supply and demand determines the price and drive the force into he high profitable area. You just need to understand the system really well and have some faith on your own speculations.

Been happy for everything we’re having so far, I have a suggestion for the current dynamic event / role playing scenarios in place.
Dynamic event is great, what ANet doing is to largely remove the attachment for the necessity in terms of “forming a group and play” (even though within a party loot increase imminently) so that it’s really easy for players to play casually which I believe is the bigger population of the player base.
Having said that however, what I enjoyed most is through the chain of event (not per reward wise but per role playing wise), and by far the most successful chain that everyone must have experienced more or less is the “personal story”. This is the epic role play model which I would really like to see more in game. Since there is no other such chain quest which would lead a player through an epic event/battle which tells you a full story.
I could still remember the 1st time when in WoW I completed the pre-quest for Onyxia the black dragon and confront her in heart of the storm castle. It’s a complete set of story which really could sell to a role playing enthusiastic like me. Also when I’m able to play through the story of an old war hero how he lost his son and be able to retrieve belief again.
I’m pretty sure after Zhaitan, other elder dragons will also become another story line and with the power of down-scaling it won’t be too boring to play through different zones to go after those quests. But before that, maybe we could add more content where player could experience more story driven chain event which tells us a part of the history or the life of a person. (good example is the mad king memory chain which give us a pretty clear history of the Thorn and this is something I’m looking for in a wider spread across the existing more map-attached dynamic event settings)
Hope we could learn more about Tyria. For glory or honer, with sweet love or horror, comes more of the travelers who dig deeper into the forgotten…
I love you guys. I enjoyed the game so so much. And yet you kept surprising players like me. It’s not even a month after the Halloween patch.
I spend over 100$ (not much) in gem store for town clothes, keys, skins and I’m so glad about having those things. I will spend more with all those awesome game content out there, constantly improving in WvW (weekly transfer, remove of the orbs), man you guys ARE listening to the community. I have the urge to spend a lot more in the gem store (just for the curtsy of the awesomeness of the game). Especially on different kind of skins (so please, add more armor / weapon skins available for purchase).
Thank you so much for putting all those great content together and making a great game! The only concern I have for the current game play is the botting issue which can be seen everywhere. But I believe it’ll go away.

Stiv.1820A recent patch made all borderlands share puzzle rewards as far as I could tell. You can do 1 borderland and the EB and that’s it per day.
I thought it was just me forgetting timers… Can someone else confirm? I won’t be able to do puzzles this match up.
No It’s not the case. I can confirm the day before yesterday I did it in all 3 borders. Didn’t get the time to do it yesterday. I encounter that case only in one night which is several days back. They are considered different maps so there is no way jump puzzle are treated differently.

Agreed, it’s all about the effort since nobody is forcing anyone to go after a “skin”. If you want to be outstanding? You WORK for it.
Also, it’s always true that early market favors those who have the brain to invest on the right thing. So you can’t really blame those people stocking up on precursors. It’s all capitalism like what we are doing now EVERYDAY in our life.
Does anyone know an alternative sword to fiery dragon sword which can be a light source in a very dark place?
I wish the fiery dragon sword skin can be purchasable through gem store.
