In case you’re actually asking what WvW is, it is the GW2 equivalent of open world PvP. Three servers are picked to fight among each other for control of keeps and towers on the 4 WvW maps. What you are seeing there is the score screen for WvW. Each place a team holds is worth a certain amount of points and every 15 minutes the points are tallied up to give the overall points of the three servers. The overall points are then used to give your entire server bonuses based on your WvW performance. The more points your team earns, the more bonuses your server gets. These bonuses apply to all players on your server both in WvW and PvE and the bonuses are all pretty useful, from extra gold per kill to extra chances of getting materials from gathering. You can get into WvW either via the button on the score screen or using the asura gates int he south of Lion’s Arch. I would definitely recommend it as I find it really fun.

French DAoC veterans don’t play in prime time because it’s just too mainstream?

oh right they wait for everyone to go to sleep to play men vs gates

or maybe they dont play at all and some brother country from across the atlantic comes for men vs gate instead of them

idk if anet is aware but some textures are sort of twinkling when using crossfire, i got HD5850 in crossfire with updated drivers, it happens on the floor in Lion’s Arch @ the Trading post company and other places like in the jumping puzzle on eternal battlegrounds near the rock boulders trap. and few more places.

QQ more… its not nightcaping for canadians. You do same nightcaping in their timezone. Is it just so hard to say “Hey! They are just little better than we are.”?!?
and i play in SFR.

It should be their priority right now, i was just wondering if they could release any info on about what they are planning to do, to address this issue, because its being a gamebreaker for many players considering WvW is many people’s endgame.

Yes, that’s why I said max/max/half, I never added the points, because it’s pretty simple maths onwards.

if its simple math you would have seen (like i did) that it wouldnt be fair for the overnumbered realm….

I think a better solution is artificially balancing the teams at all times. It gives neither side an advantage. The only disadvantage is a queue for worlds with significantly larger populations than that of other worlds. And the solution to this negative side effect is “transfer to another world if you don’t want a queue”.

Let’s say 100 EU players are getting destroyed by 200 Canadians overnight. If you equal out the team, only 100 (maybe a small percentage above) Canadians will be allowed to enter the map with the other 100 in queue. Those Canadians would transfer to another EU world and bulk up that EU world’s night time force. You now have multiple worlds with a more evenly distributed population of Canadians. And as more Canadians spread out among EU worlds, the queue is less harsh for the world that had originally had a 200% population advantage.

You can plug in any variable you want, this was just an example.

I can not understand why the developers have come post an official message for this kind of QQ.

in the world of MMO MMO turns all 24/24H.

I do not see why we come to argue about the fact that on some servers players outnumber the night.

ALL PLAYERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO PLAYER INCLUDING DAY AND NIGHT.

you sleep at night? be.
vout which says your playmate does not work in the evening, playing at night and sleeps during the day?

it has not been declared in the living world, that night there was a curfew.

and then if you “rage” against the French servers.

you had to conquer the islands has in the past.

Martinique, Guadeloupe, quebec, etc..

stop complaining and riverside Shiverpeaks, you cheated.
Players fly hack you to steal and make bug orbres Lord of the fort.

So you seriously silent or changed the game

Either you dont care much about WvW or you’re in one of those servers that conquers everything at late nights otherwise you would be “QQ’ing” like everyone else…

Because i just transfered from shiverpeaks to gunnar’s hold to see how it was there and both servers are german and still 1 of them is steamrolling us both….

So IMO the best fix for the nightcapping issue is by greatly buffing the NPC guards and Lords (when 1 side gets outmanned) giving a decent challenge to any zerg and it will also delay the conquering progress.

i could have post it in the sticky thread but its getting too big of a mess and a bit off topic so every1 is ignoring most of ppl posts

Edited: to those suggesting to reduce number of entries on wvw i think u didnt read the OP by Matt Witter: Players should not be punished or unable to experience and view the same content as everyone else because they play at a different time

This is my suggestion :
Number and level of guards and lords inversely proportional to the defenders numbers.
That means that if most defenders are not in the map the level and numbers of the guards and lords get increased. In this way the enviroment should prevent small groups to conquer all the territory in few minutes , or at least it will take longer to get all the structures.

exactly this is what i’ve been suggesting
i think this is the only viable solution with lesser colateral damage

By default the existent npc guards should get like “10x” tougher once 1 side gets outnumbered but it also should there be an upgrade option where you could add even more efficiency from those guards during outmaned situations.

therefore you could sleep a little bit better

forget region locks, arenanet policies wont make it happen, its like every1 is free to play with friends all over the world i believe thats their stance…. having said that the only viable solution would be to buff the guards that are defending the keeps, towers, etc (when 1 realm gets outmanned) to make a nice challenge even to the biggest of zergs

The game should just shut off when you log off. No one else should be allowed to play according to their own hours.

Ok i just had an idea , why not add like strong NPC defenders to protect anything from a server that is completely outmaned?
even if other servers had big zergs it would still be a challenge to take a tower or something else

they would have better pings and wouldnt be moving to EU…. and all this frustrating night capping issue wouldnt be a concern ATM

Sorry to burst the next bubble but:
Wth are you all talking about, during the day it was mostly even. FS did NOT dominate the day at prime time. You are only 6k points ahead of us and we both got the french problem at night (with FS capping last early morning and tonight before the reset to take the 2nd place from us). You were even 3rd place friday morning.

How can you dominate the day when we got both very low points at night? The answer is simple: You weren’t. You were playing almost exactly as good as we did. It’s the french that sucked at primetime.

If it were +300 for you and +200 for us during the day, your lead wouldn’t be by 6k points and you would have been 2nd all week.

only reason we ended up being 3rd for a couple days or so was because you guys and VS “decided” to team up against us

What the OP posted is totally true
IMO the solution here is to not allow NA in EU servers and vice versa, plus a decent buff when outmanned with like +hp and defensive buffs or something like the next tally point instead of 15min (i supose it is atm) like only every hour or more idk.
