It’s about 20s per use (buying gems with gold), which isn’t bad if you’re salvaging exotics with valuable runes.
The trading post has a 15% gold sink for sellers, so that is deflation, not inflation.

I don’t see the problem here, except having to invest in some items (like ectos) to avoid losing the wealth you would lose by saving only gold. If prices are higher on some items, then selling those items will give you more gold.
I think ANet will take the easy way out and make the portal useless rather than fix the bugs related to terrain and bypassing walls.
Glitching a mesmer inside a tower/keep isn’t exclusive to AR; there’s plenty of cheating to go around. I’m disappointed at the rate bugs are being fixed in this game, and even some bugs that ANet said are fixed are not fixed, like phase retreat (mesmer staff #2).
