I’ve just finished a mach with my condi warrior sword-sword/longbow. There was a necro that in 1vs1 when he get in deathshroud i stop to see the damage from bleeding and burning, but he still have about 10 stacks of bleed and burning. And his life or life force don’t happens to take condition damage.
Anyone else notice that? i will do some test to confirm this fact.

The bug of today is on warrior. After the not-official patch notes i check the physical skills and i notice that “Bull’s charge” and “stomp” have the wrong damage tolltip, it changes with different weapons but the damage doesn’t change lika most of damage utilities of the game.

i played for 8 month with this computer and i never see this type of bug with phantasm that looks like ghost. After some pach i begin to sse that. If you need screen because you belive that i’m kitten i will put them.

the bug of today is on the mesmer. in my fantastic compiuter when I pvp I can no longer see those beautiful pink phantasms, in their place I see clones with guns rose. I consider this a big bug because it reduces a little ’my ability to recognize and avoid them, in addition to recognizing any mesmer each other (even if it is less now that I am accustomed to the clones).

Once upon a time, when the zaishen still rule the pvp world, there was a way to breach in to the north wall of Bravost. Strong guilds and chaotic pug built catapults and trabuchet to take down that wall.
After the continuous attack to Bravost balthazar decide to put a stop: “Bravost shouln’t easy to take like other towers, it should be quite impossible to take it”. So the god destroy the cliff that warriors use to get inside the north wall.
Now the only way to take it is to fight against the mortars inside the near keep. A lot of commander try to take it down but there is no way if it is defended by 4 players and 1 cat.

Void: It deals 200 + 0.8*Cond.Dam. for 3 sec and boon expire 100% faster. Stacks in duration and is converted in Aegis.

Is better if i explain what i mean with boon “expire 100% faster”:
It works like Chilled. Evry second under the effect of voind count two seconds for boons.

Example:
A war use Signet of Rage gaining 30s of might fury and swiftness. It get struck by void for 3s that make boons expire faster. At the end the war will have his bonus for 27s and not 30s.
A guardian use Stand you ground gaining for 5s stability and retailation. after 3s it take void. His boons will last 4s: 3 before void and 1 after.
This secondary effect will be more effective for boons with small duration.

At the moment some mesmer are using 3 shatter in the same combo in this way:

  • Create a 2 clone with staff
  • Change in sword and cast Illusionary Leap (Skill 3) and recast with swap (again skill 3)
  • Than they are in melee and use Blurred Frenzy (Skill 2) and shatter with Diversion (F3) in this way you are dazed for about 2 seconds gaining 10 stacks of vulnerability.
  • Than they use two utilities: Mirror Images and Decoy.
  • They shatter again with Mind Wrack (F1).
  • They shatter with (F2) just to add more damage.

And they do all of this during blurred frenzy. Anyway with this combo they use 2 breackstuns.

You should put ALL SPvP matters as top priority, because if you want GW2 to have a feature, you must do it. Otherwise it will die very soon. Everyone is saying that, because it is sooooo obvious.
I do not doubt you’re working, but you are working slow with wrong priorities. Wake up.

Working on every PvP feature we want concurrently is obviously not feasible. Everything must have a different priority. Dueling is a feature that could happen anywhere in the game, and could be picked up by a team other than the sPvP team. As far as our team’s priorities go, dueling is certainly not above custom arenas, spectators, shout casting, split queues, etc. I know everyone may want a specific feature first like dueling, and it sucks we can’t please everybody at once, but that’s the priority we’re working with.

How is that list of (mostly) basic features still so long when this game launched at the end of august 2012?

I wouldn’t call those features basic, but I can fully understand that they’re expected from the community after seeing other games like Smite or LoL. Those companies were dedicated to those games from the start though, while we at ANet were, and still are, making a massive MMO.

The problem Evan is that we saw this features not in newe games but in GW1 from Anet. After 5 years of developing of GW2 players like me think that is late to do things that you already had in a YOUR game and now you are doing this things in few month because you forgot to work on them.

I’m not just talking of Observer or Custom arena but:

  • Observer
  • Custom Arena
  • Dishonorable System
  • Chest with minis and rare skin
  • Zkey
  • Elo rating for Guilds
  • Monthly tournaments
  • Gold Silver Copper capes.

I know that GW2 is a differnt game of GW1 and you did a great work with the combact system. I love it and i love conquest plus secondary objective maps. But you should take the best things that you already did in GW1 and bring them here faster as possible.
I say this because this is the game that i want to play and i need other ppl to play with them. don’t let them go.

I think it have potential but they should buff some things like:

  • Strenght XI: it is too weak for a final trait it should be at first tier of traits
  • Kick: it move foes not enought to bring them out of sanctuary it should be at least 350 knoback. Or maybe give to it an other function like shield bash: instead of knowback maybe a stun of 1/2 s.

Some question for Anet:

7 month since the release of the game. When you will fix all the runes bugs? (Like strenght runes)

Why don’t you put something like Zkeys of GW1? Chest with tonics food and random skins that waste a lot of money and give to pvp people the chance to get rich?

Why if you say that GW2 pv kitten plitted from pve you put pvp skins that you can have only doing pve? Why you don’t do the opposite? Why the pvp people have to play pve and you harldy avoid to do the opposite?

It is normal that Discipline (of the warrior) gives only 0.1% more damage with burst skill?

Why there are some skills unblockable but there aren’t skill that take you when you are dodging? Do you want to penalize only some professions?

Are you going to do some usefull buff for warrior? or you will do something like:

  • Berserker’s Might: reduce the number of stack of might form 5 to 4
  • Reviver’s Might: Now grant 2 stacks of might

I’m gettin bored of your promise that you will change the world and after 7 month there are still bugs and 1/3 of the service that there was in GW1.

Note: first 2 questions are quite serious the other are a mix of rage and irony.

All of us know that the warrior is too weak compared to other classes. He need some changes and i want to put here some suggestion for you.

  • Adrenaline and Burst skills:
    The warrior is the only class that have an useless secondary attribute in his final trait line: “Burst Damage +0.1%”.
    You can change it to make in line with other profession like: “Burst skills recharge 1% faster”.
    Or make it stronger like: +1% critical change with burst skills.
    An other problem with brust skills is that there isn’t something that allow people to do a build that spam burst skills. You can put some traits like: “Burst skills apply x stacks of y for z time. (where y can be a boon or a condition)”
  • Weapons traits:
    You should merge the 2 traits of axe “Sharpened Axes” and “Axe Mastery”, because at the moment they are too weak. Same with Longbow.
    You should put a cooldown of 1 sec or more to Forceful Greatsword. Because this is too much powerfull.
  • Opponent defence:
    A lot of warrior build are based on power and when you fight agains Engi Guardian Elementalist Ranger that continue to have protection you lose a lot of damage. It is a fact the warrior hate protection. As you suggest in the SotG, you should put a trait like: “Strenght XII: Armor Crasher: you deal 20% more damage against target with protection”.
  • Survival:
    An other big problem of warrior is that is the main target because he haven’t a lot of evasion. My suggestion for this is quite too radical: put a 3/4 sec of evasion to all leap skills (it can be applied to other profession too, but heartseeker will be too much strong for new players).
  • Snare:
    I think that warrior have enought of condition removal, and there must be something to stop them. Like you said: “warriors need support for snare”.
  • Useless traits:
    This is for all professions. There are toons of useless minor traits that someone must take in the builds. Like: “Reviver’s Might”. Please think something better or just make them stronger.

I’m doing this post because i’m in rage with your balance metod.

The shatter mesmer is a profession that can do 20 stack of vulnerability take 20 stack of might do more than 15k of damage vs a 2200 armor, rip 6 boons put 6 stack of confusion and do all of this while you are dazed and immobilized and he is INVULNERABLE.
Yeah you did a class that is invulnerable for most of the time: blurred frenzy, dodge that prepare the shatter, distorsion. And it isn’t over he have phase retreat wich have 0 cast time and you can use it while stunned.

And after this you BOOST it.

If your idea of balance is that the mesmer is good as it is now. I want this following traits on war:

1: when you use burst skill you evade for 1 second.
2: when you use burst skill you put 20 stack of vulnerability for 5 sec.
3: when you use burst skill you get 15 stack of might for 5 sec.
4: when you use burst skill you rip 3 boons.
5: when you use burst skill you put 10 stack of bleeding for 3 sec.

This would be a nice buff to war in the way to put at the same strenght of mesmer

And this “Each point in Discipline increases the damage of burst skills by 0.1%.” is ridicolus.

Engineer-Automated Response-Bugged?

I have also noticed seeing the “immune” message while fighting other engineers recently. My theory is that the message pops up whenever the 15-point alchemy trait “transmute” procs. I believe it will also appear when attempting to blind an engineer with utility goggles, but very few engineers use goggles.

So there’s no change or bug, but the game now seems to inform you when one of your conditions fails vs. an engineer (8% chance).

I think this is why i usually see the immune status on engy thx for the fast response

I know that is quite off topic. But i write this here because i want an opinion by who fight against engineer and not from engi them self.

After the pach (when i play my engi with granade kit) i see a lot of immune when i use condition skills against some engi. I’m not stupid, i know that automated should start at 25% of life but i noted some strange things.
Anyway they aren’t immune to all condition but i have the impression that some stack don’t connect. For exemple when i use Static Shoot i read 1 immune and the target gets only 1 stack of confusion and the blind.

It is just a my impression or there is some strange bug?

But i don’t understand why you didn’t change ALL the skills, traits, runes and sigils that give quickness. And where is the trait that gives more damage against people with boons? or something for the constants movement controll that oppres warriors? Karl talked about that in the SoTG.
I was hoping in something like: XII strenght trait: you deal 20% more damage vs targets with protection.

Anyway i play war and i think that it is one of the best profession. He have dps, semi-bunker, control, support, spike, ranged builds and they are all avable because they are quite strong.

Now the pach is out and it need some times to see how the meta will change, and it the warriors are that bad that no one will use them.
For the next pach please fix strenght runes they don’t give 5% more damage with might and i love them.

You can’t understand me cause you didn’t play on GW1: 14hours to get max level and equip.
For me is ok 150 hours for a full equipped character (with no legendary or fantastic weapon armor skin). But not 150+20 days of daily and monthly + 10 weeks of guild missions + 30 fractal + 200g for a back. And i don’t talk about infusions that gives only few stats

The main problem that a lot of you don’t understand is that the wvw (that is pvp) share the equip and level with pve. I don’t care if i need 1000 hours of grind for pve, but when i am in pvp. I don’t want that some who play pve have an advantage on me because i play wvw only.

Anyway this is a preventive post because accessory have only attributes, but weapon and armor have base damage and defence. If i will meet someone with full ascended than 10% more stats 10% more weapon damage 10% more armor that means 20% better than me that isn’t pvp is equipped versus not equipped.

An other problem of grind is that i have 6 characters at 80, i love to play in wvw with all of them and now anet is blocking me the possibility to do that in a fair mode with others.

No Vol you misunderstand me, i want that people grind for fantastic beatiful legendary gear, but that should be strong like exotic one. I want GW2 like it was in october where i can do what i prefer to reach my goal. I don’t want to play 400 hours for only one character.

I understand your point of view and is correct if you are in a not-competitive game. But wvw is a competitive play, I need that gear because my opponents have it. The main problem is that if i love to play wvw and i don’t like fractals how do i get ascended rings? If i have 4 char why i need 4 month to get 4 ascended amulets?. I can understand if it is only 1% stronger than exotic but is 8% more (the stasts) and i’m warried for armor and weapon. I bouth this game because they promise to me that it isn’t a grind game (and because after 5 years GW1 didn’t change in grind and equip).

I taked that time with my first character. About 80 hours for lvl 80 and 40 of grind in orr for ecto. But now with acended you need a lot of time for only 1 piece of gear

I bought this game because you promise a lot of innovative and intresting things like:

  • No Grinding: but now there are 60 hours to get 80, 20 hours for exotic gear, 30 runs in fractal for ascended rings. I don’t know what do you mean with grind but 120 hours to get a full equipped character for me is quite long.
  • You can do all you prefer to get what you want: I MUST do fractal for ascended ring, I MUST do daily for ascended amlet, I MUST do guild mission for ascended earings, I MUST do PvE for equip (or at least is the better choice). I want to do WvW and PvP, why if i play the 80% of my time in the mist i can’t get something for my charr for wvw? Why i have to do daily fractal to get the ring that i need to be competitive?
  • Is better have more character for a better experience of play: You promise it, you said that there are achievements that you must do with different profession, and after you put the lvl of fractal character bound and now you say that the wvw rank will be character bound too.

Why did you change your philosophy on how this game should be?

Is it just a my impression or the score of SPvP go slower than before the 28th pach?
Before each match takes from 7 to 10 mins now it takes from 9 to 13.
I mean only points from sanctuaries

Great post, i wish to write like you ç_ç.

I don’t agree with your idea to buff arcane shield because i’m afraid that mist form plus an other strong defence like it would be too tank.

I think the elementalist need a buff for the chance to do some damage. But it need a nerf on this build because it tank like a guardian but with the half of equip in defence. He can use valkirye, sigil of bloodlust and sigil of battle that mean a lot of damage.

Quickness mechanic. How do you feel about it?

I open this topic because i don’t like this tipe of mechanic, and i want to know what other people and developer think about this. So the question is: “What do you think about this?”

In my opion it is a bad boon for this reasons:

  • It creates a lot of bugs like:
    Skills that last for less (persistent skills like consacration of guardian).
    Finishers that sometimes do not finish (you finish the action but if you move or get interrupted in the time you complete a normal finisher it will not work).
    Glitches in animations.
  • It allows impressive spike. Because it double the actions you can unleash all your skill in the half of time. Skills like pistol wip or hundred blades or triple chop can do more than 13k of damage in 2 seconds.
  • It broken the roll for dodge mechanic, because skills become soo fast than broken the wall of reflex + latency + cast time that allow to evade attacks. If you are an experience player is quite easy avoid bull’s charge than hundred blade but when bull charge gets a cast time of 0.5 seconds it become impossible.
  • Utility skills that give this boons have strong negative effects. Frenzy is the worst, it destroy the sturdy body of warriors or poor engineer that are so unlucky to get this malus.

In GW1 (i know it is a different game) there was a mechanic like that, but it was allowed to hve it all the time and the game was balanced on that sistem.

My suggestion is only one and is quite simple: destroy this boon and the negative effects of utilities that give it. Then give to skills, traits, runes and the sigil something like staks of might, fury or swiftness.

Anyway i play warrior with my main and i use frenzy and my second char is a ranger. I don’t want a nerf to warrior or mesm or other profession, i just think that this mechanic makes spike hard to balance.

I hope to see some interesting ideas, better than mine for sure that is quite simple.

Please put the complete description of traits and skill with the cooldown of their effects.
Ex:

Before
Forceful Greatsword: Gain might on critical hit with a greatsword or spear. Greatsword and spear skill recharge 20% faster.

I don’t understand how is possible that runes and sigils are still bugged after 3 month by the launch of the game plus beta.

What is the problem with runes of the pack that gives healing power and not power?
Or with rune of the centaur that have a cooldown of 15s instead of 10.

Did you test this things or not? and why you don’t fix them after player told to you this problems.

Why don’t you siply take out all the description of runes and sigil in the game and you put a link to your official wiki, at least a player will found the correct description of the item.

i think it is a problem with waypoints that do not teleport you in their location.
When i see someone that is in endless load it is always dead in the map, in spvp.
Anyway in pve sometimes it teleport me to the waypoint i want to go, then it teleport me back.
Because of this i think there are some problems in the waypoint scripts, and i hope it will help you to resolve this problem faster.
