To clarify, I wasn’t inspired to ask because I was on the receiving end; I was actually the one tagging the garrison on an enemy’s borderland while watching Ripper Street. After a couple of hours of unrelenting tagging despite many deaths I started getting some whispers, and not particularly friendly ones. I barely started up again tonight when I got more whispers, and more threats of being reported. So I hoped to get some consensus as to the legitimacy of this particular activity.

As a commander it seems your always subject to such opinions of others, and if you’re not doing it their way they whisper you. My server is usually extremely supportive for me, but like everyone else, I’ve had those haters go offline to whisper me so I can’t even respond.
Seriously, it’s a legit tactic and a cue to the enemy to keep their eyes open. Nothing wrong with it.

I don’t see too many small fights on tier 1 or 2 (I play for TC and we bounce between those) so I would tend to agree with you and say maybe t3? Then again I don’t play a roaming class, and I usually zerg stuff, so my opinion might be off.

Is it possible to participate here without joining the guild, or is that a requirement?

I don’t know I kinda of enjoyed it. I too, logged in LA and was spawned being poisoned and attacked after an epic cutscene. It really felt like chaos of a sudden onslaught attack and was fun. I wouldn’t imagine much guidance or story in the middle of an attack that the story has been leading up to personally, at least not yet.

I really enjoyed the chaos of it all, it really felt like a panic to save LA, and more authentic than doing the event later when there is more direction. The cutscene was pretty sweet too.

But yeah, the fireworks party was so much fun!

I am also a female who plays WvW. There are a few of us in my guild as well, but I am the main WvW-er. I really like WvW for the Jumping puzzles and running my mesmer through them. I feel like I can contribute a lot of stuff to my team that way.
That being said, I’ll also be out there running with the commanders anytime.
