Bug? Experience survivor for monthly achievements

This bugs is really bad and it should be a fixing priority as it shouldn’t take too much time. The game maintains your nourishments timers even if you log out and in, so keeping the experience count shouldn’t be hard.

Yesterday I was going to get it, and at 94,3K exp the servers went down and I couldn’t finish it U.U

Worst case scenario:

I was 94000/100000 exp for monthly survivor, then the servers went down, and because of the survivor bug, now after logging in I have to starto from zero U.U

The funny thing is that the game kept my Nourishment effect with its remaining time, but not my survivor experience.

Please a-net, fix this horrible bug :S

Is Juggernaut/Colossus a Marvel reference?

A juggernaut in colloquial English usage is a literal or metaphorical force regarded as mercilessly destructive and unstoppable.

Yes, I know that Marvel Juggernaut isn’t the first one and for where the word comes, what I said is that in this game Colossus BECOMES the Juggernaut, just like in the Marvel Comics where this guy:

Took the power of Cytorakk and became the new Juggernaut (BTW the old Juggernaut is on the first image too :P) :

I wouldn’t say it is a reference with only the Juggernaut, but the fact that Colossus becomes Juggernaut is what made me think of it as a reference as thousands of references you will find in this game.

We all know that a-net loves to make references to many different stuff, to the point where you really don’t now if they did a reference on pourposse or it is accidental.

So the Legendary Hammer, the Juggernaut, like every legendary weapon needs another specific weapon to be forged.

In this case the other hammer is the Colossus, so my question is: was that done as a reference to the character Colossus from Marvel who now wields de gem of Cytorakk which makes him the new Juggernaut?

It makes sense because Colossus became the Juggernaut, both in the comics and with this legendary hammer.

As for the White Mantle…

There is a very real possiblity that the White Mantle is behind the bandit problem that Kryta is currently suffering. If you visit a few of the bandit caves you might notice symbols painted on the wall. Start with the cave at the back of the graveyard outside Divinity’s Reach.

Now compare it to the White Mantle symbol on this page:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/White_Mantle

Interesting no? Note that although they are different they have alot of similar characteristics and a similar style. Also this symbol appears on alot of bandit camps across Kryta and even at one in the Brisbane Wildlands.

This means there is a very real possiblity that not only is the White Mantle behind the bandits but have also infiltrated the Ministry. Perhaps even the leader of the Ministry.

Apart from the White Mantle presence in Kryta there are some Seraph in the Brisbane Wildland who were sent there to search for signs of a white mantle presense.

Well, in Brisban Wildlands there is

A Dynamic Event involving the ghosts of Shining Blade and White Mantle members, including GW1 Demagogue (event boss). When I found it I was like crazy because of the memories from GW1, i was a pity I was alone and the demagogue was too powerful for me alone hehe. It is in the west side, a bit hidden, but easy to find.

For the record, Shining Blade “adventure” classes use a white (with gold stripes) version of the Order of Whispers hood, probably as a placeholder.

What races would you like to play as in the future?

Largos!

They’re so cool! Please a-net make them playable!

I see Tengu being playable in the future (they even have their own currently innaccesible city), but Kodan on the other hand, doesn’t seem as likely because character creation wouldn’t be able to make each player Kodan differentiable from others (all Kodan are WHITE Bears, you wouldn’t even customize their color, and a bear face doesn’t give much space to imagination). There is also the fact that making a race of bears playable, and balanced with a standard form Norn, would make Bear Form (transformation into humanoid bear aumenting your power) completly non-sense as it will give you very close physical atributes to Kodan, but it will make you more powerful.

I would love to see Largos and Tengu as playable race (already have a Bio for a Tengu Engineer “Crazybird” personality). If we can’t play Largos, at least let us wear their armor .

Does no one use PP?

I used P/P a lot during the first betas, I even made a video tutorial about a very succesful Thief Lord P/P build.

But right now I’m using S/P and SB. The reason is that P/P feels incredibly boring after much use. You soon realize Unload is your most valuable skill for 95% of situations so you simply keep spamming it over and over and over. Aditionally as others said, SB ends up being more damagin overal, and provides far more utility. With P/P you build for criticals, add on critical effects and spam unload to trigger effects, and that’s all.

Will every skill have an underwater function in the future?

Some months ago during a reddit AMA, Izzy told me that it would be very likely to see the summoned thieves from Thieves Guild being used underwater.

They still aren’t usable underwater, but I think they might end up implementing it (in this particular case it shoudn’t be so hard as you can summon other minions underwater, they will only need to change D/D and P/P thieves for Speargun and Harpoon thieves, and probably adjust IA to underwater combat).

And I wonder if there is some plan to make every skill usable underwater. I don’t remember well, but I think during early stages I read (and see) some utility skills changing into a different one when they first presented underwater combat. Maybe I’m wrong but I think it worked that way.

With ground target skills it’s always possible to make an alternative to the skill usable underwater (like creating a “trap sphere” around the caster, or just something different but with the same “feel” or theme).

With some professions it really hurts your favourite playstyle (specially if you associate your specific build to your character “bio”, a Thief Lord in my case as I use TG and Ambush Trap) when you need to change 80% of your heal/utilities/elite skills, and it also limits some professions a lot underwater. Human Thief can only use one Elite Skill when going underwater.

I think it would be great if every utility/heal/elite could be used at some point in the future underwater, or have an alternate functionality so it’s adapted to underwater combat style.

I know it isn’t that big of a deal, but some important content on this game happens underwater and I would like to maintain my favourite build when doing it
