You are not wrong, OP, but you are also not exclusively correct. Different people can play the same game for different reasons. This is not GW2 related but it has applicability here:

Its not a perfect analogy but it becomes evident that player types or “psychographic profiles” are useful to answer the question “why do people play a game?” and “what is fun?”.

I perceive you have embraced your inner Spike in GW2 and that is perfectly fine. Winning is fun and winning all the time is more so. I’m sure you can be happy playing and playing against meta builds and classes while honing your skill at the game while not worrying about the development side of the game. And its all good.

However, you cant expect everyone to be a Spike or convert to becoming one. In order to have a successful game that thrives and grows the developers must find out who GW2’s Timmy, Jhonny and Spike are and how to cater to them. There is also what others have said before me that there needs to be balance in order to maintain a skillful, fair game.

We will be adding more liquid WXP that will be purchasable, likely with badges and some other currency, soon. As in, less than a month. I’ve made it a personal goal to improve the experience for playing alts in WvW. And to cut it off now, we are not making WvW rank account bound.

Its going to be interesting to see if you can find the balance between making me want to 100% use my main to get wxp progression and making me want to play on my alt that has almost no wxp progression. This situation was similar to the old karma system that used to be character bound then became semi transferable with containers and eventually became account bound. Hopefully we wont have to wait almost a year to reach a satisfactory solution as well.

Bumping for visibility. I see no fix in the patch notes. Someone please tell me they are not ok with 5 stacks of confusion on interrupt with no cool down.

I think AI minions play style is fine in PvE and WvW but I don’t think it should have a place in competitive PvP anymore than full zerker 5 signet warrior should have a place. People want to see players outplay players not AI body blocking, cluttering the screen and passively winning the fight.

I really like this ultimate skill but it feels weak in comparison to the human racial ultimate Hounds of Balthazar despite both having a similar idea behind them. The hounds of Balthazar are perfect for a condition Mesmer build because they cause burning with every attack, they have a big attack that is a leap finisher, their attacks do a solid amount of damage and apply burning, they are durable, oh and there are two of them. Really the only advantage summon fern mastiff has over hounds of Balthazar is the 60 sec lower CD time, which doesn’t seem to matter much since it is very rare to cast it twice in one battle.

I like the poison and bleeding angle of the fern mastiff ultimate and I don’t wish it to become a copy of the hounds of Balthazar but I do wish it would be more up to the same level.

I don’t know if Anet cares much about balancing racial skills just thought I’d share some feedback from someone who wants a sylvari condition mesmer and doesnt want to go human.
