ROTFLMAO…..
So Anet put some ‘rare’ and/or ‘difficult’ useless items in the game that cost $$$ to get?
Outside of ‘completionists’ who cares? Its not like these items are REQUIRED to be able to play the game or anything? It sounds rather mild and kitten tactics compared to other games with ‘microtransactions’.
LOL
IMHO the costs are there to:
1. encourage you to fight your way to/from places
2. as an additional ‘tax’ on defeat. You’ll have to beam to a location with Armor repair and then beam back to near where you were fighting
For now all i can tell all of my friends is that they should def buy the game, play it until they reach their own goals, and then just drop it and do something else. Gw2 has the best leveling experience i had (but i played during launch so there were a lot of people to tackle DEs with, i don’t know how it is now with empty areas), and i would recommend anyone to play it, but not expect any end game and not to get too invested. Just have fun while it lasts.
This.
This is a single player game with other people around. (kinda like Skyrim but there are friends/strangers exploring with you) This is my 1st MMO title and given its ‘performance issues’ and the issues that seemingly are inherent in the genera it may be my last.
It’s taken me a few weeks to get one toon to LVL40. When I get to LVL80 I’ll likely purchase another game and enjoy (or not!) that start-finish. Repeat.
IMHO: The ‘end game’ is you’ve: seen/played all the content and max leveled your toon. There are a number of races/professions that you could play or find another game/title to play.
While the game is fairly large and there is a lot of content here, I can’t see (at least in its current form) how it could be considered a ‘pay once and play forever’ title. Granted ‘completionists’ may want to play/level every race/profession but frankly I don’t see the point. After a few 100 hours on one title I’m usually ready for another game.
I don’t see the point in this post.
From the sound of it you’ve been able to sink many many hours into playing this game. You’ve surely gotten your $60’s worth out of it.
There are plenty of other quality titles that have released after GW2 and more on the way in Q1/Q2 ‘13 – if you don’t like this game anymore go play something else?
Granted it is very very rare for me to play through more than one toon – most games are just not interesting enough for multiple runs and there are simply WAY to many cool titles that I’d rather experience.
To each their own.
It might sound counter intuitive but are you overclocking your GPU? Try using Nvidia’s published clock speeds instead.
I keep 3 different speed profiles in EVGA Precision for this very reason.
1) Stock Nvidia clock speeds (usually somewhat lower than EVGA factory settings)
2) EVGA factory clock speeds (can be much higher than Nvidia depending on model)
3) My overclock speeds
Display driver crashes can be caused by an unstable system – usually caused by overclocking.

The “minimum system requirements” that are published (for most games, including this one) is really only enough to run the program and could not be considered “playable”.
The “recommended system requirements” ought to really be considered the minimum needed to “play” the game.
Some games are good and others are really really really good but I would not buy hardware just to play ONE game.
Consider the other games you play or are planning to play in the future when thinking about hardware purchases.
Spend as much as you can afford to. It won’t be outdated and leapfrogged in performance by the newer stuff quite as quickly.
Know in advance that whatever you do buy will be outdated in 2-4 years. Many gamers upgrade their CPU/Motherboard one year and GPU’s the next year so they are not replacing everything every year. (Personally I wait for a 50% improvement in performance before biting the bullet)
If your going with a single GPU build often times you can save $$ by getting a pre-built tower on sale from one of the major OEM’s and then add your own video card to it. (as long as the OEM power supply unit has high enough wattage)
In a word – yes. The game is ‘cpu bound’ so no amount of GPU will speed it up.
Under the in game graphics settings: turn reflections down or off and use native rendering (instead of over sampling). I found I got the best results with setting the frame rate to ‘unlimited’ and use the ‘adaptive vsync’ in the Nvidia control panel.
I’ll average ~60FPS in most PvE settings outside of cities. However in cities and especially near/around the ‘winters day event’ there are places where I can just stand and look (or swing the view around) and get very very low FPS.
Welcome to the club.
“its just bad code”
The single player games only have the player and whatever NPC’s to keep track of. Then again (as an example) there were many armor/clothing options removed from Skyrim so they could add in other items.
Has anyone tried “Planetside 2”? In some cases there’s easily an order of magnitude of stuff going on but again Sony limited the player outfit/looks choices so that the amount of data needed to represent a single player was minimum.
This game has lived with being poorly coded/optimized since at least Q1’12 if not longer. At this point I’m fairly sure that there’s nothing that they can do to fix it outside of a complete rewrite of the client and server.
(sorry, I just started my 1st cup of coffee this AM……)
I think you have a little research ahead of you. Don’t fret, some of it has already been done by others. However, to get high to higher end performance, more $$ may need to be used to achieve decent results. How much or little CPU/GPU you end up buying may effect what other current games you can play on it as well as what games you may be able to play on it in the future. While there are fairly ‘inexpensive’ options out there most ‘gaming’ laptops will average 2x $$ your price point.
Whatever you get will need to have a fairly fast CPU. Personally I would not consider anything that does not ‘turbo boost’ to less than 3.2-3.4Ghz. This may rule out all the AMD’s and many of the Intel powered ones. I’d also favor an ‘Ivy Bridge’ based unit over the older chips – simply because they can generate a bit less heat and can have longer battery life.
Your going to want the best non-integrated GPU you can afford. The AMD 7970 and Nvidia GTX680M are currently the most powerful mobile gaming GPU/chips available. Laptops built with these are going to be big, heavy and very expensive. I’d suggest at least a ‘mid level’ mobile GPU – something that gives you at least 2x the performance of the integrated HD4000.
Mobile GPU benchmarks:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html
Once the CPU/GPU is generally picked out then looking for deals that may include those parts as well as other options that you may define as ‘deal breakers’ is needed. Sometimes fairly mid-high end machines can be found with heavy (+$400) discounts.
Tech deals:
http://www.techbargains.com/
Lastly, best of luck. There are a gawdzillion models out there.
Simply amazing….
I just installed GW2 on my i5 (HD4000) laptop – its playable in PvW if you can handle what everything looks like on LOW settings and 20-30FPS. Just stepping into LA (the other side of the gate) dropped the FPS down to ~9 (sic).
With that kind of NON Performance in LA I’m not going to even think of trying PvP or PvW modes.
YMMV.
Screen too small =x. Advice on the one i just posted?
Awesome deal, less than 6lbs and near top-of-the-line performance.
You can compare the one you were looking at here (as well as any others that come to mind):
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html
Here’s where I got information on the deal from. There are other more expensive and less expensive options.
Personally, I like the < 16" screens without a keypad (it centers the keyboard in the middle of the screen) and are lighter to lug around. I’ve been eyeballing a Asus 14" at Bestbuy that looks interesting “Model: G46VW-BHI5N43”, while you’d be hard pressed to find more GPU power in a lighter package its missing wireless “A” and Bluetooth is kinda a deal breaker for me.
Keep in mind its fairly difficult to get a real ‘apples to apples’ compare of different computers as its almost impossible to do the exact same thing in game.
Simply looking in slightly a different direction can impact frame rates. Using the built in FPS gauge vs Fraps/Afterburner/Precision external gauge can influence what you think your getting.
Unless your thinking of dropping some $$$ on some new hardware I would not worry about what frame rates others are getting. Depending on what area your in and where you are looking this game performs poorly on very high end hardware.
You have to play with some of the settings yourself to see what works and does not work for YOU and your computer. Almost ALL of the settings can impact frame rates.
If there’s no chance they will optimize gw2 before any ideas of releasing expansions then i think any expansion will sell very poorly in comparison to gw2 mainly because it seems everyone having low fps problems with more than capable pc’s will have to upgrade JUST to play reasonably when they can run all other games perfectly fine : ( No chance in hell im upgrading my perfectly fine pc just to run 1 game better and I guess i won’t be the only 1 thinking that.
Don’t hold your breath waiting.
A Google search on GW2 performance issues finds articles with much of the same complaints we have today dating back to pre-release beta uses in March 2012!
At this point I’m rather doubtful that this game will ever get ‘fixed’.
I surfed by a desktop/mobile benchmarking site and selected a few popular choices:
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8212/8293016386_1e2e0074a2_o.jpg
The chart shows the approximate placement of performance compared to other GPU’s. You can see at the bottom is the Sandy Bridge integrated HD3000 (#286) and the newer HD4000 rates #214.
The GT540 has almost twice the performance as the intel graphics and the two 640’s are about to a little over twice as fast. (#84 & #89) However it appears that the 670 is only slightly faster or the same as a $100-150 (GTX460) desktop GPU card but in a few metrics are similar to the desktop 570.
The Radeon 7970 and Geforce GTX680M are currently the fastest single chip moble GPU’s.
The ‘general rule of thumb’ for PC games is that the publishers ‘minimum’ may not do much more than load and execute the program. Its more than likely unstable and unplayable.
I always consider the ‘recommended’ HW configuration as the minimum playable and might see an average of 30FPS (some OEM’s think 15FPS is playable!) If you want ‘first person shooter’ performance you’ll need much more than what is recommended.
In any event, this games performance (after a minimum/recommended HW configuration is met) appears to be tied how fast your CPU is. No matter what you end up purchasing you may or may not get enough performance to enjoy playing GW2. The good news is that other games may perform enjoyably enough.
Basically there are two different types of GPU.
One type is generally on the same dye or built into the same chip as the CPU. In the specifications you’ll see that it uses “shared RAM”. If (for example) the machine came with 8GB of main memory you won’t be able to use all of it for the OS/Programs as some of it is being shared with the internal GPU. ‘Main memory’ or the kind that you can add/remove from your machine is generally slower than the kind that is used for dedicated video memory. Both ‘Internal GPUs’ and ‘shared memory’ is generally much slower and has less features as a external GPU with its own memory. The intel HD4000 and GMA are both examples of ‘internal GPUs’ that use shared memory.
A “video card” is the best example of a external GPU with dedicated memory. Usually the card has the GPU/Memory and cooling built into the card. Very high speed memory is often used with these solutions. In many cases the user can overclock the GPU.
Both AMD/ATI and Nvidia make some ‘mobile’ versions of their GPU’s. In Nvidias case the laptop/notebook’s specification will list a “GTX5xxM” or “GTX6xxM” as the GPU as well as how much dedicated memory is built into the laptop/notebook.
Generally you’ll have to look for specialized ‘gaming’ laptop/notebooks to find ones with dedicated graphics and memory. Also these usually are much more costly than the laptops/notebooks without a external dedicated graphics chip and memory.
If your buying the laptop specifically to play games then I’d recommend getting one that is specifically designed to do that, which are the ones with the dedicated graphics chips.
An added bonus of the Xeon is that there are actually TWO Pcie16 buss’s available.
(they also tend to have larger caches)
I’ve actually seriously considered building my next rig around one for those very reasons.
In a word? No. Seems like everybody gets that sort of performance (and worse) around the “Winters Day Event” in LA.
The event won’t last for ever and its not like you actually NEED (no fighting) the FPS.
Actually even “Borderlands2” is/was giving some GTX6xx owners grief. There are many examples of Fermi based cards running better than Kepler ones.
Then again, with this game the FPS hits most people are getting has nothing to do with the GPU.
I wandered around LA and the WD event to find a place which gave me solid 30FPS and tested with my resolution set from 1024×768 to 1920×1080. The result? No significant change in FPS.
This sort of thing confirms what we already knew – GW2 is CPU (+Net?) bound. No amount of GPU power is going to fix that.
Considering that I’ve yet to hear anyone claim that they don’t experience a FPS drop in PvP and PvW modes as compared to (non-LA) PvE mode it would appear that large numbers of players and/or visual effects is causing the FPS drop. (# of players = Net, # of effects = CPU)
I get ~30-45FPS around the winter event @ Lions Arch. (basicly 1/2 FPS lost in this one area)
I never really notice the frame rate dropping elsewhere in PvE. Must be WAY TO MUCH stuff going on for the net/game engine to keep up.
Anyone try adding “-perf” in your desktop GW2 link?
To the developers: Thank-you, Thank-you Thank-you and Thank-you. Your extra work and effort have paid off and those of us who prefer gaming in 3D are thankful of your efforts.
Playing in S3D adds a layer of immersion that 2D games could only dream of. When properly configured not only does the beautiful artwork have depth and volume to it but at times there’s ‘screen pop out’ where elements of the game are coming out of your screen!
The S3D review video linked to above can be viewed in 2D, but if you want to get a hint of what all the fuss is about it can be viewed with anaglyth (red/cyan) glasses, cross-eyed and side-by-side (if you don’t have a 3D monitor/TV).
The awesome looking immersion does come at a price, S3D is going to chew up ~40% of your frame rate. To be able to play in S3D your going to need a gaming rig with enough CPU/GPU power to render the game with S3D @ 60FPS and above and a expensive 3D monitor or 3D-HDTV to view it.
This is my very first MMO and I liken the PvE game play as kinda like playing Skyrim with (sometimes) others. 2+ weeks into it and I’m only 5% into the map – its THAT big!
Humm… I bought it at full price right before it went on sale…. silly me.
Greetings, a few things you may not of thought of checking…
1. The process tab on taskmanager, click on the “cpu” at the top to sort the processes by cpu usage. (you may have to click twice on it to get it to sort H-L vs L-H) This should tell you/us which process is borking your system.
2. Firewall/Antivirus software – this could easily be causing issues.
3. Believe it or not “itunes” has been known to do this sort of thing.
4. Last but not least – are you on a wired or wifi connection? AES wireless encryption and not-so-good drivers can easily chewup ALL your cpu bandwidth.
Again, sadly as others have pointed out most modern games (GW2 included) won’t make full use of a medium powered modern PC let alone high end gaming rig. This game is CPU bound and tossing more threads/cores at it won’t improve its performance.
I wonder how many players treated this game like a single player RPG? (play once or twice through PvE as different race/profession then move onto the next game)
Its rather doubtful that I’ll ever play PvP or PvW modes. That sort of thing just does not interest me.
At the rate I’m going I’m not sure I’ll get another run before the new Tomb radier comes out let along when Crysis3 comes out. Ether way, by Feb ‘13 it more than likely that I’ll be playing something else.
The fact that I don’t like the game, means I don’t play it anymore. That’s all that matters.
If you don’t like it and are not playing it anymore what are you still doing here?
Ditto – Why “hang out” on a support website for a game you don’t like and don’t play anymore? Boggles the mind.
I have a Logitek DeNovo BT keyboard/mouse combo – the mouse will mostly not work when playing this game. The only solution was to turn the mouse off and pickup a cheap ($9) USB/Optical mouse.
The corded optical mouse works flawlessly. IDK what GW2 does to wireless rodents but switching to wired fixed it for me.
I almost fell out of my chair when my toon first autoswitched to town clothes! WTH? I started wondering “when did I ever pick THAT outfit out?”, it’d be nice to be able to configure your toon’s casual attire when first starting out.
As others have mentioned, people would pay real $$ for clothing/accessories upgrades at the gem store.
• For PvE leveling rangers complaining that these changes won’t help you, that’s because the ranger is already very balanced for PvE, if not overpowered.
Oh god, my sides! Lord have mercy upon them! I cannot stop laughing!
Yup… there you have it. Us PvE players are ‘overpowered’.
ROTF
I like the way this game is setup.
I can start with my ranged attacks and while waiting for them to cool down, switch gear and charge in for some melee action. My health bar getting clobbered? Time to drop a healing spring or do a quick avoid and get back to ranged distance. Repeat.
Those with Pets can send their pet in to ‘tank’ while the party spams the crowd with ranged effects.
So in one battle I’ve sent my pet in for tanking, played ranged and melee as well as healing for myself and pet as well as those within range of my spring.
The great thing about this game is that I’m not locked into any one given play style. I like that.
Just started 1 week ago and loving it so far. Whats not to like?
1st I have to ask myself what does it take to stick with any GAME in general.
It has to have good visuals. I like eye candy. It needs to look good in 3D. I prefer 5.1 sound but can live with stereo if need be.
Enough uniqueness in the game world where it does not appear to be “cookie cutter” made content. This goes for play and combat mechanics as well. I don’t want to feel like I’m ‘grinding’ and doing the same thing(s) over and over.
Here’s a tough one – not so easy to be boring but not so hard to be frustrating
Dynamic – what I do needs to somehow matter.
Open – I prefer open worlds vs corridor games
Since this is my 1st MMO, I really like the cooperation and sense of helping each other. Team work, unity. I tend to cheer when a group of players finally take down some large enemy.
I’m not really sure if I’ll ever venture into the PvP and WvW modes, constantly fighting other players does not really interest me.
So I rolled a new ranger recently, having leveled a guardian to 80 and an Ele to 24(had to give this one up) I have some experience with GW2. Currently a level 25.
My thoughts: Trait Points – Not as important as you level. For PVE I have chosen for precision and wilderness survival because conditions seem to be what I do. I expect I will reassess the distribution of these points once I hit 60 and again at 80.
Skills – There are enough skill points in this game to buy all skills. So like Pokemon you gotta get them all BUT there are some that are more useful that others. Traps are a must have, heals are a must have and movement modifiers are a must have(for me). Pick the skills you NEED first and the rest after you have what you need. Don’t forget you must have purchased a certain number of skills to open the next tier. You can see the number under the tier listing x/5 etc. The elites however are not available until level 30.
Pets – again as with skills you can get them all, so make sure you do! I am constantly swapping out pets to suit the area. Sometimes I want a tanky pet or dps or utility or a poisoner. I swap lots.
Weapons – I have unlocked most weapon skills except the warhorn. I might do that later but for now ima leave it as I dont rate it. I generally run with both bows so the news on the expected fixes in the next patch are exciting. I have not run into any trouble I cannot handle in PVE with this setup. This includes taking on multiple mobs +3 levels on what I currently am. Which is nothing special for a Guardian and freaking miraculous for an Ele so for the most part I am pleased with the Ranger.
IF I require a more melee based set up to cope with a situation I will opt for a sword and dagger. The evades, poison and bleed effect suits me fine. I would possibly also go with a crow for the blind.
Tips -
Quickening Zephire – Unload some seriously fast shots. Usually I use this with my Barrage and the the Hunters Shot & Rapid Fire skills for the ranger. Sometimes if I have their back I will pop QZ with the short bows normal attack to stack bleed and proc the bleed on crit.
Traps – At this point I only have 3 utility slots open so I run with Vipers Nest and Spike Trap. I generally lay both at my feet to control any mobs that like to get in my face. I use them often.
Heals – I use healing spring now but may look to change to troll ungent for better healing in solo play. Healing spring is good for groups and is a combo field.
Pets – I go for a spiders, they are creepy as hell and they spit a venom puff ball that is also a combo field as part of their normal attack. It couples nicely with the bows. For my tankier set up I will use the Brown Bear and the Artocas(sp?) I have bound their special attack (F2) and their swap (F4) to a more convenient location and swap and spam skills in combat as much as possible.
I may not be playing the Ranger right but the above is basically a summary of what I go for and what I have picked up so far. It works for me and I have a lot of fun.
So take what you will and leave the rest. If you take nothing thanks for reading!
Thanks for the awesome details!
It appears that when starting out your skill points are can’t be used until you get ‘adept’ training or reach some predefined level – so they don’t effect your early game.
Some of the pets seem more ‘squishy’ then others. The tiger looks cool (I like the grawl) but it gets ‘mortally wounded’ fairly quickly. I’ve tried: dog, bear, spider and boar as well with various success/failure. They all seem squishy.
What gets me is the single hit damage or lack there of. With a 160-180 damage long bow I can hit a RAT and score a 300-500 hit however anything much larger it’s only 40-80. Most large targets end up taking a few dozen hits – unless you add in other attacks (horn) or defensive abilities (traps).
While I was able to play a (-4) level area and take out a dozen or so Centars with just myself and pet, level equal areas and above anything more than single targets are problematic unless there are other players around to lend a hand.
So far its been fun, not in the least frustrating. I have most of the starting map finished. I like that they label the enemies and areas so you sort of know ahead of time if your in over your head.
Thanks again for the advice,
M.
Yup… got the spike trap and as luck would have it I’m already moving up in leatherwork crafting.
Sorry if I’m a noob to this stuff but what is “kite” ?
My two weapon outfits are currently: Axe/Warhorn and Shortsword/Torch.
(made it to lvl12 last night)
The Shortsword/Torch DPS well in melee range, the axe/horn can be more ranged and with the axe’s ‘bounce’ between targets is helpful on mobs.
However with mobs I kind of miss the ‘rain with arrows’ ability of the long bow as well as its better range.
I picked up the ‘spike trap’ for the bleed.
Inventory management is always an issue. Do we ever get bigger backpacks? Can you ever recycle your starting axe?
Its a MMO. MMOs arent meant to be played with game pad.
This makes no sense. (forgetting of course that PS3&Xbox games do this all the time)
So your saying that since the game is [O]nline a gamepad can’t work? LOL
So your saying that there are [M]ultiplayers a gamepad can’t work? LOL
So your saying that a [M]assive amont of players a gamepad can’t work? LOL
Did I mention your funny?
In all seriousness, please keep the [snob] keyboard/mouse attitude/opinion to yourself. As I mentioned I don’t play sitting at a desk bent over a keyboard/mouse with a screen inches in front of my face. I have to balance a KB/Mouse on my lap and hunt for the keys as I can’t see them in the dark.
I would much rather play with a joystick controller.
I like playing Ranged players – in FPSers I like to snipe – the Ranger seemed perfect for my play style.
My current toon is at LvL13 – just starting out.
Likes:
I like the ‘shower with arrows’ trick, between that and my pet I can get single targets health worked down a bit where I don’t have to hit em with to many arrows. I’d love it if attack #1 had more range.
I don’t know if I like the sword or hatchet better. The hatchet has the ‘bounce’ ability for mob’s which I like but the sword seems to have more DPS on single targets in melee range. I do like using a 1 handed weapon so I can have my horn in my off hand, getting some birds to come in the nick of time can save the day!
I’ve tried using all three ranged abilities, first hit them with both ‘horn’ attacks and when those wear off switch to the log bow and hit them with the arrow shower. (or the other way around)
Most games when things get dicy my toon is quick enough to simply RUN LIKE HECK away from the fight – the Rangers don’t seem to be quick enough. (oh well)
Since we only have ‘medium’ armor, the #4 knock back arrow attack comes in handy to get em out of your face.
I have not spent many of my skill points as many of the single point skills seemed rather er weak.
It does seem rather difficult to face mobs alone. When other players are around to add support (or to support) the game seems more fluid than ‘lone wolfing’ it.
This is my first MMO and the PvE is kinda like Skyrim with others around to help (or not). Its been fun so far.
Any positive suggestions on what to invest in? I found that some of the items that I was purchasing could be freely gotten via completing ‘personal story’ elements. At one point I had two long bows, horns and axe’s! Is there a bigger backpack somewhere to be found or purchased?
At least I can continue being an adventure like you, because there is no risk of taking an arrow to the knee!
Really though, the Pet thing was really hard to watch, the main pet class in game… but the pet seams more interested to run side by side with your enemy.
ROTFLMAO !!
Thanks for the laugh and Skyrim reference.
I’m thinking of rolling a Guardian next. While my pet and COTW alone can kill off many lower level beasts, the number of hits I have to land to kill off just about ANYTHING is rather insane! Granted, I’m not expecting 1-2 shot kills but less than 6 would be MUCH BETTER than 3-4 dozen on each target!
Adding some randomness is good but IMHO to much is not so much.
It appears that your assuming that all the players in the party actually finish the dungeon, which on the 1st encounter many/most will not. It’d be almost impossible to learn proper tactics when the playing field is constantly changing.
Is not your party always different as well?
Maybe have a metric where if the majority of the players in a party have successfully completed the dungeon before then randomize the mob or boss spawn points and placements. Then while the ‘look’ might be the same the experience would be different.
My ‘game box’ setup is attached to a big screen plasma and surround sound receiver in my living room. Almost all games I play are in Stereoscopic 3D while relaxing in my easy chair.
There are two slight issues with the “easy chair” setup:
1. While I have a lap table for a wireless keyboard/mouse its rather uncomfortable to use and normally I steer my game purchases to titles that have native X360 game pad support. (BTW: this is my 1st MMO)
2. I simply can’t see/find the keys on the keyboard with my shutter glasses on. I constantly am reaching and lifting them slightly to see where the AWD keys are. I’ve been “steering” mostly with the “A” and “D” keys along with the 4 arrow keys . Using the AWD and the RMB/Mouse to move around is…. well it sucks.
I know others have had some success with after market programs like ‘xpadder’ and the like (the Pinicle profile I tried did not work well for me) which shows that the game is indeed playable with game pad, the interface is just not designed for it.
Rumors of the game being ported to consoles gives me a slight amount of hope that there eventually be native game pad support in the PC version.
BTW: Well done visuals! I really LOVE the way this game looks in Stereoscopic 3D! Its simply AWESOME! Great immersion!
I’ll start a new toon tonight when I get home.
I first noticed the issue when I was getting way more ‘completed xxx event’ emblems than I was getting emails about rewards. The real disturbing part is that selling items to vendors do not count ether! (as evidenced by having set amount before visiting vendor, selling enough items to be able to afford an item and not having any more coin then I started with and unable to purchase item.
There are three counters that I’m aware of: Gems, Karma and Coin. (then there’s the exp bar on the bottom of the screen)
When I start a conversation with a vendor and have 30 coin before selling 50 coin of stuff and in the end only have 30 coin, something is wrong or I’m doing something wrong. (sigh)
Greetings, what I’m I doing wrong here?
I seem to no longer get coin rewards for anything or get any coin for selling anything. I guess I’m bound to be broke. How does one revive oneself when you don’t have the coin to teleport to the nearest spawn point?
I stopped the game last night with less than 20 coin. I’d played for 4 hours and bought nothing, took part in lots of events and sold a bunch of stuff.
I tend to wander around and join in dynamic events, the game even claims that I get gold level rewards for doing it, however after an event where I ought to have gotten 25 coin, I see nothing. Nada. I can’t find the ‘heart’ person who was ‘running’ the event to ask for a reward and the ‘gold coin’ symbol simply gets removed from my screen a while later.
What I’m I doing wrong here?
Since I was not getting any coin from events but had filled my inventory with loot I went to a vender to sell it. Here I sold off +50 coin of inventory and when I went to purchase something, I had less than 30 coin on me. What gives?
