Looking for Friendly PVE Guild

Hey Boogz,

Name in game is Ming Dara, and I am doing a bit of help recruiting for a guild I joined about a month ago… Disarray (http://www.disarrayguild.com) is a pretty laid back guild of players in the Mid 20s and up, that focuses on PvX. We are located on Anvil Rock.

We actually just invited a Husband/Wife into the guild last night, and I just happened to think of you guys on the forums, based on your husbands original post that I happened to read earlier last night.

We are a smaller guild, with about 10-15 players on most times in the evening. Tonight, if you all have any interest in WvW, we are actually holding an event to see what kind of trouble we can cause in WvW. We are inviting all guild mates and friends that are interested if you all would like to try us out.

Other than that, you can find us running explorable mode dungeons, as well as WvW on a nightly basis (although nothing is really required). We have a vent, and many of us are hanging out there on a daily basis as well.

I am not sure how many other players are it CST, but almost all of us are from the US and Canada (and I am in CST).

Feel free to check us out at the guild link above, or send me a PM if you have any questions. I will get back to you as soon as possible :o)

...And STILL Looking.

Quoted from Shoopa’s Original post:

“I’m in the Eastern time zone and usually play the game weekdays 5-10. However this is subject to change on a whim because I play other games too. Weekends I play sporadically.”

Just a friendly help for the poster above. :o)

Thief or Warrior recommendations please

I am in the same boat as you. I leveled an Engineer to 80, and decided to roll a new toon, so I debated for a while on which class to roll. I have now rolled two Warriors, and only gotten them to about level 10 / 20 respectively, then deleted one and began a Thief (after a small stint to 20 on an Elementalist).

I am much more enjoying the Thief vs the Warrior. With the Thief, I have much better mobility, as well as dodge mechanics that allow me to complete many PvE events solo, or in a small group.

I would say to you to try out both until about level 20, and see which you like and go with it. For me it was Thief.

(PS – Edit)

Another thing I liked about rolling the thief is the fact that the professions I leveled on my Engineer can make some gear/weapons for my thief. That opened up two new professions that I could use on the thief. (Went Leatherworking/Huntsman on the Engi, Weaponsmith/Jeweler on the Thief)

Are Servers Saturated w/Guilds?

I personally did quite a bit of recruitment here on the forums as well as in game, for a “group of buds” as Sprinkles called it. We did pick up more valuable players (ones that would actually get in vent with us, or join us on quests/dungeons) via in game routes versus the forums, but still couldn’t get a decent core group.

Part of the problem we had was the fact that the quality people looking for a guild were in the same boat as us. They were already in a small guild, and didn’t want to move from one small group to another, just to have to find and get to know another set of people to “see if they fit”.

I ended up stopping recruitment, which then made some of our members slowly trickle to other servers/guilds/games so the two or three active players left (me included) decided to look elsewhere for a home.

In actuality, I believe many people in this post have good points. I know it stinks that you cannot get recruitment numbers up, getting quality players that will stick with you. Sometimes it is best to reach out to other guilds, even the smaller ones, to see if you and your other members would fit. I know as a guild leader/officer it stinks putting a ton of work into a site, guild maintenance, data research and so forth for it to just flop, but all that work you do can be transferred to a new guild, allowing you to show them how dedicated you (and possibly any following members from your original guild) can/will be.

I think I may have ended up rambling a bit there, but hopefully I covered a point or two. :o)

Thank you all for the replies. I have currently made the decision to join a guild, but will keep everyone else in mind if things don’t work out with the new home!

Thanks again!

I would like to add, while I am more into PvE I would love to get into active PvP as well. I think part of the reason I haven’t been able to get into PvP is due to never being in a group of like minded individuals.

So, I am enjoying GW2 so far, but haven’t been able to find an active place to call home. I began playing in a guild of friends from SWTOR, but it seems more and more that no one logs in.

I am looking for a place to call home, hopefully in a guild with more than 25 players. The server doesn’t matter to me, but I play in the Central Time Zone US, so hopefully evening time players during that time would be a plus.

As for my history, I have played WoW (for roughly 7 years, starting Vanilla), as well as a few F2P games (LoL for one), then went to SWTOR for a bit, leveling one of every republic class to max. I am a self-proclaimed altoholic, as I have a problem sticking with one character.

In GW2, I currently have a level 80 Engineer, however I am leveling a Thief (my next 80) that is roughly level 22 now. I have a few more character slots filled with other various alts as well. If you have members that are leveling alts, or new members that are leveling, that is fine as well. Would like to be able to group with others as I level the thief.

TL/DR

What I am looking for in a guild…

  1. I would like a place that is established, with more than 25 members.
  2. Has a voice comm of some sort.
  3. US based (preferably Central or Eastern Time Zone).
  4. Casual atmosphere is okay, nothing Hardcore.
  5. Guild that is okay with a planned time off
  6. Server doesn’t matter

If the shoe fits your guild, please PM me here, or reply to this post.

Thanks for your Time!
