I am currently top3 in QP ladder, rank 44 with 90% win ratio and 1300 tournament wins and I don’t feel anything.
I remember the amount of joy I had when I hit r9 (there were a few people with r12 already). The emote, the ability to join most HA teams just because you had that r9 title. I remember facing top100 teams in GvG, I remember shaking in fear (I played infuser monk) when facing top10 bspike teams.
I actually felt that all the hard work I put into theorycrafting and playing has finally paid off.
Despite the fact that our team stomps “sponsored” teams on daily basis we are not going to get sponsored because there is actually a very little chance of gw2 becoming an esports discipline.

Dear Adwila, I have read the entire thread indeed. Considering Ques are only up for like 6-8 hours a day means you have a good chance meeting the good teams a lot. Consider this, at the prime time you will always meet at least one good team you have to beat, if you dont beat them you lose -> no QP. But I agree playing very late and long can help you evading meeting the good teams, but still winning just for like 2-3 hours is not long enough to get, lets say 40 QP. Seeing the names on the ladders I tend to say those guys are actually pretty good, otherwise they wouldn’t be there.
Though it may even look like SS has played a kittenload more games compared to other teams, doesn’t mean they are bad, just practice a lot. But it also doesn’t mean they are twice as good as CN or teams like that either, just because they have twice as much QP.
Actually Chieftan Ninjas played much more compared to us, i’m highest in ss, and i dinged rank 41 today, they have some ranks 45 and 47.
That’s because Purie is a pubstar and plays 8×8 at night.
