I can only speak for d/d, but imo, Fire 5, Water 4, Air 5 and Earth 4 cooldowns are excessive. I could add some utilities to the list too…
Fire Grab: CD reduced to 25 secs.
Updraft: CD reduced to 30 secs.
Grasping Earth: CD reduced to 15 secs.
Earthquake: CD reduced to 25 secs.
Increased Number 1 and 2 skills damage in general.
So many fundamental changes to half of our utilities that I don’t have the time to do here.
Fix all bugs / Improve Ride the Lightning.
Change speed traits to something else.
Make more traits affect all elements or more of them.
More synergy with traits.
Change useless minor traits.
Wont talk about staff/scepter/focus because i have no experience with them.

"Elementalist is not your average mage" tired of this statement

Until Anet updates the class description in the website OP and everybody else has the right to complain. Just like when traits say they do something but they dont, so we can only asume its bugged till fixed or the tooltip changes.
What i hate is that Jump Shot (and similar abilities) allow you to bridge gaps with them, but i cant even use blink to safely land on the ground from high up. I understand this abilities could be use to enter places in Wv3 the wrong way, but nerfing the ability itself is destroying a layer of fun exploration few games have. Im so tired of MMOs focusing all their skills only on dmg/healing/support/dmg-prevention. Add skills that are fun and interesting adding a unique mechanic. One of the most fun skills i had was the demon eye in my warlock (burning crusade time) and the ability to summon a lose demon in towns. Heck in this game i cant even find fun ways to avoid fall dmg, so anal about terrain manuvering.
1) D/D
2) Staff
I personally think even though elementalist has a lot of versatility in their skills, they lack versatility in their builds. Every single build right now gets pigeon hole’d into water/earth bunker traits. When it comes to damage dealing we are a lot more glass and a lot less cannon compared to many of the other classes. I personally love the elementalist, but the side of me that is used to play cloth characters with big nukes doesn’t find a home with this class.
@Vincent Highwind
I have no idea what his build is. I read up on some random thread about him and have a slight idea of what hes running, but I can’t compare it unless I know the exact build setup.
Can you post it here
Woodenpotatoes Video Explaining his Build.

Stopped watching 3 minutes in, I have one piece of advice for you..
Fast Cast!!!!!! (In options called fast cast ground targeting, the spell casts where your mouse is instantly when you hit the skill) Why oh why don’t you use it, especially being S/D those milliseconds or even a second when casting dragons tooth could mean the difference between hitting or missing.
It’s a matter of preference. Control over speed. This game camera angle is pretty zoomed in to your character, and with terrain irregularity/bad camera position it’s very easy for skills to land where you didn’t intended them to, specially if you constantly move the camera around with right or left mouse button for better awareness (80% of the time my right mouse button is being pressed and hidden). I also feel more comfortable knowing exactly the range and space my skill will occupy once casted. Maybe I’m just bad, might take an extra half a second compared to using fast cast, but over all I’ve never seen a game that does fast cast in a way I like it.
This is slightly more complicated, but if you get used to it, you can turn the camera 180 degrees press “S” or walk backwards for less than a second and use updraft, then return your camera back to normal (all of this is done by holding right mouse button). I had a similar skill in another game (backwards blink) and i got used to do it that way, it’s pretty fast and doesn’t rely on having a mob available.
I would like to know why ANet is so tight about fall damage. I was really disappointing to find out many of my skills that intuitively I though would work to avoid fall damage don’t really work. Like Ride the Lightning, or Lightning Flash (teleport i think). Specially Mist Form, I though for sure I was not gonna take fall damage if i was a kittening gas >.<
