So I managed to get a hold of some keys doing map completion. I opened one chest, and got a green Essence of Luck, 5 Bags of Alliance Supplies, and some booster.
EoL’s are in the drop table for the chests? Come on.
Sure, let them heal it, it’s a nice little extra the players need to pay attention to, but 50% HP in one second? That is too much…
Why that boss and not the others, though?
And yes, if they’re going to, make it 5% per mender rather than 25%,
The Canoneer can be healed by the Menders too. I ran into this last night, and it took forever to kill him.
Champ,
my comment was on the 3 Knights. This mender healing will have players fighting for green and red, risking less players (when they need more) to blue. Not smart.
“Champ,”(really?) I’m agreeing with you. My guess is it’s something they overlooked. They made the fountain the spawn point for Blue, not considering the flock of Menders that spawn every few minutes or so. It definitely makes it rough for anyone trying to down Blue, that doesn’t know about it. Most servers are complaining that Green doesn’t have much people, that problem just might switch over to Blue.

It wasn’t really in one second, but a few ticks. I was watching the health, and noticed it bumped about 10%. A second later it shot up to ~75%, then again it shot up to full.
I even tried targeting it through all of the mess before it got there, but I couldn’t click on it. I tried tabbing, but it was already too late. Terrible mechanic.
We were in the middle of taking down (read: zerging slowly) the Blue Knight. I got to watch as a Twisted Mender floated his way over to the Blue Knight through all of the madness and healed it from ~50% back to 100% health.
Needless to say, we pretty much just stopped right there.
If you don’t have V-Sync on, your GPU is going to be pushing out as many frames as it possibly can. That’s why it’ll be running at nearly full load.
CPU wise, this game is extremely CPU intensive. It’s going to push it.
I’ve been using a Naga 2012 for a little over a year now. I seriously don’t think I could ever go back to not having the 12 buttons. I use 10 of them for the entire hotbar.
Even bought my wife a Naga 2013, she’s learning how to use it right now.
No, it’s not. Same 7200rpm drive, the files never moved. -_-
But how much data is being loaded has increased over the year. Loading into a zerg for example will greatly increase your load times.
In some cases, which I don’t think applies any more, your local data file can become bloated, multiplying your load times. This was reported quite a while ago, where
%appdata%/Guild Wars 2/local.dat
would become hundreds of megabytes, constantly increasing over time.
That’s my point. With each patch, the data is getting more and more bloated. Sometimes it takes 1-2 minutes for my MENU textures to load in.
My load times weren’t so bad back when I started playing last year. Zones usually took about 20 seconds or so. The last few patches have easily doubled my load times.
“its ur hard driev lol”

Everything is default, but I use a Razer Naga 2012 for all of my skills. (1-10)
Only other keybind is C → sheath/unsheath weapon.
What is your FPS in LA during zerg fight?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

I don’t drop below 60fps unless the zergs get absolutely silly. Even then, it’s never below 30. You know, adaptive V-sync and all. Specs are in my signature.
Connections speeds are 58down/12up.
780’s are better for gaming than Titans.
That is all, carry on.
Ahem.
The GTX 780 is a binned Titan.
They both use the same GK110 chip.
Titan has 2,688 Cuda cores.
GTX 780 has 2,304 Cuda cores.
Looking at reference design, ignoring cost,
Titan is better. But I suppose, that when you take the GTX 780 for it being at least $350 cheaper, and you can bump up the clocks a little bit (can’t do anything for the fact of 3 GB GDDR5 though,) then the 780 will be better.
You’re right. With a bit of an OC, the 780 can easily outdo a Titan. The 6GB only helps if you’re running so many mods on a game using triple monitors, or more, or AutoCADing the Earth.
The Titan is better for rendering, and GPU-computing. If you’re gaming, better to go with 780’s.
AHEM

Micro Center usually has the top Intel processors for stupid cheap. Here’s you a 3770K, at the price of some i5’s. It’s worth it, if you have a store somewhere near you.

I have an AMD FX-8350 with a 6950 2GB video card, until the newest SAB came out I was consistantly running 60FPS execpt in a huge zerg where I would drop to about 35FPS. Now I get between 11 to 20FPS. My GPU load is always between 75-99% while my CPU load is never higher than 50%.
It’s not his hardware it is the game. They changed something when SAB was re-introduced and that something has borked a lot of people including myself. My wife also has an FX-8350 paired with a GTX 460 1GB and she consistantly runs at 60FPS or more on highest settings.I have yet to ever experience any hefty drops like this with my AMD FX-8350 and 7970 Crossfire (using single card for GW2 exclusively)
I wonder what it is that causes these kinds of issues for people.
Same here. In fact, my average performance has done nothing but go up in terms of FPS and reliability.
You’ve got something weird going on. We have a similar setup, and the only time I drop below 60fps is in a massive zerg/world event.
Max all your settings, but leave shadows down a bit. If you have a 60Hz monitor, try using v-sync + triple buffering. Also, set the frame limiter to Unlimited, then report back.

Last achievement I need for the meta. I’m down.
I’ll say it. The people on turrets messed us up last night. Can we get some competent people running them this time?
I’d love an invite!
Made it on Yak’s Bend, but I’m in overflow.
Try doing that in a real overflow, then we can talk about it.
We had the main server, and an overflow beat it at the same time on SBI last night.
Just sayin’.
I can’t say that I really have these problems. The only times my fps gets below 30 are when hundreds (literally, world events on my server lately are crazy) of people are on screen, or (for some reason) when Fire Elemental spawns. That’s it. I’m on max settings.
Specs are in my signature.
Thanks for the info! I’ve used procmon before, but it’s been a while. I guess I need to brush up on process/thread usage again.
I was running 5760×1080 for a while, on a single GTX 680 2GB. My FPS still never really dropped below 40 unless I had full reflections and doing SB, or the usual drop when FE spawns. I had to turn some of the settings down from High/Ultra, but it’s definitely doable. Your processor is going to play a huge part in it too.
I’ve read thread after thread about the game only being single threaded. It only using one, maybe two cores of people’s CPUs at a time. Though since I’ve been playing, it definitely shows usage on all four of mine all the time. I do have Hyperthreading disabled, if that may affect it, which I’m pretty certain it shouldn’t.
Another funny thing, is people say their GPU usage isn’t that high. I’m hanging pretty high just being in LA, as you can tell by the screenshot.
Maybe I’m just weird. Specs are in my signature.
Standing in LA, minding my own business. I try to open up the BLTC to buy some gems, and I get this little guy on my screen. It displays that message on every tab, save for the Pick Up tab.
Yes, a simple client restart fixed it. I just wanted to put it out there, if it hasn’t been posted already.

I’ll preface by saying I don’t post here much. I mostly just lurk around, watching other what other people say about the direction of the game. Well, I finally want to add my input.
I don’t mind the way the game is moving forward. In fact, I like it a lot. I’ve only played a few other MMO’s, but I find this one to be my favorite. Actually, this is the only game I’ve been playing since I built my computer earlier this year. I’ve been having so much fun with it, the only action my PS3 sees is for the occasional movie.
Here’s where it gets sour. I absolutely loathe reading all of the “hate” topics towards the devs now. In my mind, I can’t actually understand why people are complaining so much. Maybe this game is everything for you? I don’t really know. I want to say, as this being my sole entertainment (videogame wise, and that counts for a lot) for the last 6 months, I love it.
I do get a little ticked at the quick rate of some of the content, as I don’t have as much time as I want to play. I do have a more than full time job, and a family. I suppose it helps that my wife also plays. But, it’s not a massive deal! Sure the AP are a big thing to get, but I don’t get terribly mad if I can’t get them all in the time allotted between releases. I move on. I play more of the game. I’m at 702 hours played and 3,510 AP, I just got my second level 80 geared, and I don’t see myself slowing down any time soon.
I do have an interesting proposition. If any of you haven’t watched The Guild season 6, I strongly suggest you take the time. It’s a short youtube series/season. I’m sure, beyond the humor, it might actually be what this team goes through on a day-to-day basis. The negative opinions these people have to wade through everyday affect them in some way or another. It can’t be good for their morale as team.
Anyway, that’s how I feel about the current standing of the community, as I’ve seen it change over the last few months. Time for me to go to work. Have a fantastic day in Tyria!
tl;dr — We’re not even paying subscription fees! Why are people complaining about content in a (after you pay a flat price) free game?
Some people’s kids..
Are your graphics turned down, or did you take those screenshots with a fax machine?
I can barely even tell what it is.
On Stormbluff Isle, she blinked out with about 30% health, but still 10 seconds on the clock.
This happened about 20 minutes ago.
I moved from Overflow to the normal server after an invasion, to find Jormag stuck like this.
Great. Now I have to go back through all the maps, because I don’t remember which maps I destroyed a Champ clockwork?
Guess I won’t be moving beyond 12/13.
Cannot unsee…
The so called next generation mmo uses an old generation 32bit client. So it doesn’t matter if you have 32gb of ram because Gw2 will only use 2gb max.
You do realize the limitation for 32-bit is 4GB, right?
Stuck on 12/13 here. I really wish we knew exactly what we needed to do/have left to finish the achievement..
I get the error sporadically. Sometimes it’s every few minutes, sometimes days without it.
I completely understand what’s going on, and I think it’s still ridiculous I’m waiting sometimes 10 – 15 seconds for the GROUND to show up. Even on the lowest culling settings, it still takes that long for the textures to load from my 7200rpm drive.
EDIT: Okay, I understand it’s not a bug.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but loading the zone only comes from the HDD/SSD anyway?
All of the player loading comes after the actual zone is loaded. The zone is what’s taking longer now.

I’ll add my screenshots to the Phoenix Armor clipping also.
I thought I was losing my mind. I first noticed when I was going to kill the Golem Mark 2. Normally it loads just fine, but my first indication was when I ported in and started running, and the bushes and trees hadn’t even loaded. I had to start running past the WP for them to show up.
Now it’s everywhere. Even during the cinematic for the opening ceremony, things were popping in every time the camera changed angles. This is bad. Maybe there should be a patch or command to shrink the actual game file and get rid of the unnecessary data from old events and such.
My guess is that the growing game data file is partially to blame. I mean it’s grown what, 2GB in the last 2 or 3 months?
Definitely still happening. I tried it yesterday, and couldn’t get past the door.
I decided to grab a running screenshot too.
This really needs work. I wouldn’t mind my 29 gold back..
Ah, thanks. I didn’t see those before.
Play at a lower resolution. So I can maximize my screen area. By lowering it.
Sounds like a winner.
I know it’s been mentioned before, but I want this fixed really badly. I always want to use a small UI, but frequenting the TP makes me have to stick to normal.
There has to be a fix for this.
So, I definitely expected a better quality for something that costs 800 gems. Anyway, the skirt clips during nearly every position/animation.
Here are some screenshots.
Don’t forget, he might just roar to kill the golems in range of hitting him, but just out of range for you to do anything about.
