Lol someone send that woman a cheeseburger. Oh..also, if she’s the one environment artist (or one of them) for GW2, I wonder if she’s also the one responsible for the I CAN HAZ CHEEZBURGER cats all over Tyria? If so, then major kudos to her.
@AriaSilverfyre thank you so much for the help !
So here is my mesmer; I will begin to look for some nice looking skins for my armor as soon as i manage to get my exotic gear (which my take some time as the temples in Orr are always contested -__-, setting up a party in a low populated server is pretty tough).
Exotic gears don’t always mean the best look. It’s just a matter of knowing which clothes to mix and match. Some people think it’s all about being flashy (and that’s their taste, I guess) but to others, it’s all about the flow and the subtle details. You gotta learn how to make the look “complete” from headgear to shoes to weaponry..and yes, the colorway (dyes). Have fun =D
I got The Crossing staff for my 3rd MK dungeon run. I had some spare gems so opened 2 BLCs and got 1 Deathly Mantle (mesmer using it now).
I also bought a pair of Deathly Avian medium shoulders for my ranger. I was hoping to get an Arachnophibia shortbow on my other MK runs but I guess lightning doesn’t strike twice. I’m already very satisfied with The Crossing — it looks so awesome on my Mesmer with the Deathly Mantle + Mad King Memoir (Phase 1 looks better with this set). Overall, I’m very happy with the event.

Human Mesmer: Serafina Crow of Blackgate. Lv27 when screenshot was taken. I transmuted The Crossing to a Lv27 staff and AC Ghastly GS…totally worth it. =)

But if I have a different rune with the same first bonus..for example Rune of the Krait and Rune of Nightmare, the first bonus apply separately even if they’re both +28 condition damage?
Ranger class is very versatile. It has decent survivability, a good arsenal of weapons, a variety of builds, a large selection of pets, numerous summons, and it’s a well-rounded class. Most important of all, it’s a lot of fun (for me at least). I’ve tried different classes before but so far, my favorite is still the ranger. Maybe it’s not the king of glass cannon dps or best tank in Tyria but it sure as hell can deal a good amount of damage and it can take a fair share of beating.
If you want to play the “best DPS class”, then you’ll hear all sorts of stories about how Mesmers and Thieves are so OP. In my experience, it’s all in the player.
Do rune bonuses stack? What I mean is if I have 5 weapons with Superior Rune of the Krait, the first bonus stat is +28 condition damage; if I have 5 of them, would that end up being a 140 condition damage bonus (plus the other stats) or is it just +28 overall?
Another thing is if I equip a bunch of different runes with similar bonus stats for the first line, do they count as 1 only or do they stack? For example, rune of the undead, krait, and nightmare.
Thanks =)
With a full level 80 (or at least 3 80s), about 10 minutes? (I think).. I’ll keep a timer on next time but it’s a short dungeon. I’d say farm the hell out of it and good luck Nox. =)
Also I got the crossing on my 3rd run =p
Name your best drop from the new Mad King dungeon and a few good ones if you like. So far my best one is The Crossing. I got a few other exotics as well but nothing special. I’m hoping to get an Arachnophobia shortbow or a legendary pre-req (if they drop from there).
So, what’s your best loot?
We finished killing the boss. No reward. We killed the tree spirits, still no reward. NPC is still present and it says “Twilight Arbor is now safe.” Not the first time I’ve done the dungeon so I know the reward usually comes in after the boss is killed. I did it on my ranger, Alastor Crow.
I’d love to get the 60 TA tokens that I did not receive but if that’s not possible, I suppose just fixing the bug would be great too.
Thanks =)
Alastor Crow. I’m not sure yet whether to get a different pair of gloves or not. So far the look works and it does match my name pretty well. I sometimes run with Rose Shade or Celestial dye as primary. I like changing my colorway from time to time.
I used to run with Axe/Warhorn + Shortbow (Longbow rarely used). Now I have Shortbow + Longbow and another shortbow. I also keep a warhorn just for the swiftness. I find it to be more effective overall in pve and pvp settings. My build is primary designed for high sustainable damage which means good raw outburst (longbow) and excellent condition damage (shortbow). The axe is great for pve scenarios where you fight mobs but compared to the shortbow, it’s really not worth much except maybe for a change in playstyle. I use piercing arrows so all I have to do is target the enemy in the back of the group to let my arrow pass through several for some semi-aoe damage. I also do a lot better in pvp with this combination.
I bought a Wolfborn shortbow and Adamant Guard longbow. Both have been transmuted with lv80 exotics. I also have a 3rd bow (short bow) which cost me 5.5G for the skin (Whisperer) also transmuted with a lv80 exotic.
Choosing your “best” bow skin all depends on your overall look. If it matches, great. If not, no matter how cool the bow looks, if it doesn’t flow with the rest of your armor/dyes, it’s no good.
