Assuming we do end up getting Rifle as our elite and assuming it comes with a trait-line that features traits for both rifle AND pistol, not only would it feel weird to have old pistol traits recycled into our new elite spec (something they haven’t done for other elite specs revealed) but it would also suck to be forced into using it to just so that one of our baseline weapon sets is “viable”. Given they said we can only ever use 1 elite spec at a time this would also lock pistol thieves out of future elite spec lines.
As for making ricochet baseline, I believe they addressed that in their first trait reveal when it was a trait in the grandmaster critical strikes line saying something like “I feel like this one should still be a choice, because you don’t always want your pistol strikes to bounce.”
I mean you might as well just delete the other two options on SA adept tier. Shadow’s embrace is just too attractive.
To me this is a problem, SE is just so vital to a thief’s survivability that most just cant go without it, a problem that is only going to get worse with the coming condition buffs.
IMO no matter what you put in the tier with SE in it most will feel forced to take SE for the condition management, which leads me to believe SE should have been what replaced Last Refuge as the minor trait (due to its near mandatory nature) freeing up the adept tier so thieves no longer totally ignored the other options in the tier.
Stopping in to say that this is happening to me as well. Been getting pretty sever lag spikes since the update went live. Normally my ping (in Canada) is around 70-100 with a 60MB/s connection, since the update it continually spikes up to 600+ but only for 3-4 seconds at a time which is making WvW almost impossible to play.
I have tested and re-tested my connection on (literally) everything else and it seems very stable on my end (no spikes or drops in bandwidth) only my connection in Gw2 seems to be having troubles and only since the patch.
Yes this has been happening to me since downloading the recent patch also.
My ping will randomly SPIKE from around 70-90 to over 600-1900 and then go back down to 80-100 only to spike back up again a few moments later with SEVERE skill lag.
I have tested my connection several times since noticing this and on my side it seems stable, with 60MB/s down and 10MB/s up no spiking at all in over 20 individual tests.
Tried the whole resetting modem biz also. Normally I’d say this was ISP issues but this started immediately after the patch went live which is why I’m posting here.
