Do you know how hard it is to tear ourselves from Mahjong, Blackjack, roasted pork meat, pineapple tarts and an important soccer match, to play GW2?
Now you’re making me hungry. Happy new year to you & all the Asian crew.
So YB decided to wake up a little early today to ‘test’ out this CD Night Crew and find out whether it was a zerg or an organised fighting unit. As we thought/hoped they really are not very good. I guess PvD week after week is not very good practice.
Well, considering most of us are still busy with our festive period, you made it look like you toughed it out to get back your keep, but fact is, it was empty. Not suggesting anything as we still have loads to learn, but today was just a quiet day
Not quite empty. I saw about 10 CD defending the inner wall. CD’s oceanic numbers did appear to be significantly reduced though. Combine that with an unusually large turnout from YB & we have managed to keep most of our points, at least so far. By know most of us will have gone off to work so it may be a very different story in an hour or so.
Despair Maguuma and Dragonbrand for their is no hope for you now.
Also shame on you maguuma we leave you alone for a little in EB to fight DB and how do you repay us? by taking smc with our backs turned!!!!!!, o well you learned right quick you did when we turned our golem army upon you and you felt our furry.
Maguuma felt your furry…? Your furry what? No, I don’t want to know. What you & Mag get up to in the privacy of your own battleground is your business but I don’t think you should be advertising it on these forums. You can call me a prude but I just don’t think it’s appropriate.
Anyone else from CD noticed that based on current scores, we are predicted to fight Mag and Ebay next week?
We should first make sure that we play better rather than assuming we’ll fight different opponents next time.
We’ll know by the end of the week.
I think a Mag, CD, EBay tier 4 next week is very unlikely. Us Yak’s do have a big numbers/points advantage at the moment but once the weekend is over I expect CD’s more even coverage will eat away at our lead & possibly (probably) overtake us, just as they did last week.
Even if YB was to go to tier 3 it wouldn’t be for long. DB’s night crew stomped us for 2 weeks in a row just a few weeks ago. Combine that with a borderline tier 2 FA & you get a steamrolled YB. CD, YB, EBay is much more likely. From what I have seen, SBI is a much, much stronger server than IoJ & will probably be in an arm-wrestle with Devona for tier 5 supremacy.
Can you please try your best? We’re doing massive amounts of PvE over here on our end.
Lol, we are, our objective was to get such a big weekend lead to drive them off coming out in such force. Going good, but its more up to CDs off hours ppl. If they rally not much we can do without the numbers then.
Not sure why we would want FA and DB tbh though, been there and its not competitive.
Got to agree with Pendragon, our (YB) lead will be whittled away by CD’s night crew as the week progresses & our weekend warriors return to PvE. Short of further massive transfers or a tier 3 worthy server being discovered in the lower tiers Maguuma 2.0 is very unlikely to ever have a rematch with EBay as you are just to big for tier 4.
And us Yak’s Benders were so looking forward to giving SoR & SoS a kitten good thrashing.
I appreciate the CD or YB necromancer letting me get the skill challenge at the spider queen skill point this last weekend. I waved, got attacked, sat down and got beat on for a bit, but the necro disengaged before I died, and I was able to heal up and start the skill challenge in peace.
Waving to an opponent is generally recognised as an invitation to a duel.
are queues bugged? waiting what seems like forever……..
Since the last patch there have been reports of strange things happening with the queues. Two players logging in at the same time, one gets through queue in minutes while the other will wait for hours. Leaving the queue & then re-entering may help.
Others have reported a ‘ghost image’ of a player who has logged off still being shown on a map several minutes later. This may result in a false count of player population. Some suggest that this problem could be fixed if players leave WvW via the LA portal rather than just logging off straight from WvW. Little more than speculation until we hear from Anet.
Looks like last week really did SBI in. How come we were able to field a decent amount of people during the impossible match of SoR, but now we can’t field 10 people in a borderlands? Hopefully people come to their senses and start playing with us again in WvW soon! This can be a great match!
It’s still early in the week, I’m sure they will join in later
On SBI it’s been well over a month’s worth of drubbings and exodus. Loin’s Gate doesn’t even have a queue any more at peak times. When most of our spawn exits were being camped by scores of SoR last week, even the skeleton crew in SBI BLs gave up the ghost after fighting madly for hours; and then, even the NPC ghosts of Cursed Shores last week camped most of the map when we could barely scrape-up much more than 1/2 dozen players to PvE events.
At it’s worst that kind of spawn camping of a World already on it’s knees does little but kill off the remaining resistance; eventually even dogged players will find better places to be rather than act as a badge camp for the opposition. While playing the under-dog can be fun for awhile seeing so few have your back against stupefying odds day-in-and-day-out sucks the fun out of it.
So it’s not just a question of people not turning up to WvW; but where the people on SBI have all gone to? When someone posted that the LFG for PvE was empty; I checked and then started to feel it looked pretty dire. Maybe those who didn’t transfer decided not to login to PvE either O_o
I started on SBI and had a lot of fun here. The people all seemed nice, and even the last few weeks there’s been some great leadership by the commanders who’ve chosen to remain. It’d be a real waste for SBI to give itself up to ghosts (NPC or otherwise).
Hoping a few more of the stalwarts on SBI do make an appearance for this week’s match; though one could easily excuse no-shows given the past month.
Not trying to downplay your plight. But both Yak and CD had to face Kaineng last week. And it too was spawn camping 24/7. To add insult to injury on what’s left of us on CD, a lot of the Kainengers were ex-CDers. It’s not that big of a deal.
Yak’s had Maguuma the week before that too. Another facerolling.
And Dragonbrands huge east Asia crew stomping everything while we slept for the two weeks before that.
I can understand the reason for Anet wanting a Ratings Reset but I can’t say I’m thrilled with the idea. My server, Yak’s Bend, has already had several weeks of obviously unbalanced match-ups. Our next match-up looked like we would finally be getting some semblance of balance in Tier 4. Then the reset was announced.
I hope that details such as WvW player participation numbers & timezone coverage will factor into the match-up selection as, unless there have been further massive transfers over the last few days, there are many match-ups that just should not take place. It would be nice to think that numbers don’t matter but that would be naive. A one sided match is not fun for anyone & only hurts the game.
So…. is there anything going on, or any chance of anything going on worth taking note of at all currently or…?
Don’t let Kaineng know but all is going according to plan. We are currently lulling them into a false sense of security. Already we have most of their server bored out of their minds. Then, when they least expect it. Operation Yak Attack.
Will be interesting to see where everyone falls over the next few weeks, T4 will always have one of the 24/7 coverage servers so I don’t really see T4 being an evenly matched tier anytime soon.
This may not necessarily be the case. SBI has suffered due to the transfer rush. Depending on how much of their oceanic player base is left they may become a fair match-up in tier 4.
Tier 4 could see regular rotations between YB, CD, EBay, & SBI. As long as SBI’s nightshift has been hit as hard as it seems to have been then we may be seeing an evenly matched tier fairly soon. That is what I’m hoping for.
Then it came down to the defense of the Hills Lord Room. It was pretty funny to have Yak’s bend on one side of the tunnel entrance, and Kaineng on the other side. We were hoping you guys would wipe each other out!
I was looking at the map & wondering wtf are we trying to take a CD keep for? Don’t we have enough to deal with already? I predict that in a few weeks time Tier 4 will be YB/CD/SBI, then we might finally have a fight that’s worth having.
what else can i say XD
You can say thankyou to your East Asia crew.
No…. another boring week to suffer , for a player living in east Asia?
when will we encounter an oceanic/asian prime server …
Dragonbrand would be the server with coverage similar to your own.

YB, we’re coming.
prepare to dance on kaineng borderlands!
Really? I thought Dragonbrand was going to be back with us next week. Anyway, welcome aboard CD. I’m all for targeting Kaineng next week for what good it will do. The YB alliance are against two servers officially ganging up on a third but I’m sure we will have a lot of rank & file members who would be happy to try & put a dent in Kaineng as they sail up the tiers. Then again, I know we have a lot of players who understandably wont bother with WvW till the Tiers settle down a bit.
Speaking to you from a foxhole in YB’s borderland I can give you my guestimation of how Maguuma & Dragonbrand compare. Or at least last weeks DB as I believe they have picked up even more transfers this week. Both servers have comparable NA numbers though Mag has a sizeable core group of very organised & disciplined players which make them the bigger primetime power. Once the lights go out it’s a different story. DB’s nightshift would have a significant numbers advantage. Just my two cents worth…
I had 250 Mithril Ore = 18 Orichalcum Ore. I wasn’t impressed.
We’ll know by the end of the week.
