What guardian needs is soft CC, not swiftness…
Yeah, either of them.
Well it is too poor, more than it should be. It’s not like guardians have a speed signet like other professions. Moreover, It is the only profession that cannot apply cripple/chill, meaning your enemy is free to kite the heck out of you until your teleports CD’s are up, that is if staff/scepter are not included in your build, not that they are great range weapons right now.
As a Guardian there are only 2 classes I can’t demolish: Thief (if it’s a well played dodging thief) and the condition engineer with bombs and grenades and it’s because both kite exceptionally well. Being able to kill anything else without too much of an issue is a pretty good result in my opinion.
Condition Mesmer, a well played healing signet LB warrior.
Well I doubt you’ll understand unless you run an offensive non staff medi build, here you support less and smash more.
I understand just fine, thanks. Why do you suppose I want easy access to Fury?
Fury is an overkill. Period.
And in exchange for that, Guardians get a bunch of ridiculous defensive skills and party support abilities that the kiting Thief does not.
Some call it “balance”.
It’s just some swiftness, we’re not going to be jet flying around.

I have already accepted the fact that we will get kited and if the player is good then you’ll have a hell of a time trying to keep on him without GS+Sword or Scepter. It is one of those things you’ll have to accept as I doubt they’ll make much of a change to our mobility.
You shouldn’t accept it :P. You want to know why you shouldn’t accept it?
I know you probably think that because we are the “tank” of this game we shouldn’t be as mobile as other professions, but that would be only true if some of the other professions didn’t “tank” just as good and still remained mobile.
A little swiftness wouldn’t make us as mobile as a thief anyway and that is not my intention anyway.

Hello fellow guardians.
I’m 100% against meditation skills granting fury boon. You ask why?
The reason is simple, we’ve always wanted an easier access to swiftness boon. I think landing a full mace or sword chain attack on a kitting/running enemy is absolutely more dps than having fury and missing every single attack on them, and swiftness will grant you that, plus I feel lucky enough with 40% or so critical chance, why the overkill?
We all know that guardian is a slow profession compared to other professions, a decent swiftness source is sufficient to solve the problem in my opinion. Keep in mind that guardians don’t have access to chill/cripple conditions which makes chasing after running enemies even a harder task, even with the teleports we have.
What do you guys would favor, fury or swiftness?
RĂ¡kan, blackgate server.
- Sword number 3 skill: Fix the accuracy of this skill. I believe people actually need to dodge to avoid this skill’s damage, not just strafe to one side and evade the whole thing. It is really annoying.
-Shield: I think everyone agrees that 3 seconds of protection on using shield 4 does not justify the high cooldown on it, also its base damage is low concidering its high CD.
As for shield 5, this needs some serious rework, I think it needs to be a lot more powerful than just a 1 second or less knockback that comes with a very high CD, the projectile blocking part is good but the duration is very short and you’re held in position while doing it.
Hammer: Make the symbol cast duration on the third chain of its auto attack just a littttttttle bit faster. Everything else is good.
Scepter: Watching scepter’s auto attack bores me to death, I think it should be a chain attack with faster projectiles and a boon or a condition on landing the third attack of the chain.
Staff: Needs a bit of an increase on its damage dealing skills which are 1 and 2 to balance it between support and damage dealing. Not all players like to use it as a support weapon.
Mace, Greatsword, Torch and focus are good as they are.
-I saw in the preview that meditation skills on use are going to grant fury. I really think that Meditation skills need to grant swiftness instead of fury. In a lot of situations where you’ve used most of your CD’s and you’re trying to pull of a full mace or sword or whatever’s chain attack while chasing someone, you are kited verrrry easily because they have swiftness and you don’t. People have always complained about how slow guardian is, and this is one way to fix that problem. Don’t tell me use staff for swiftness.
-Give us more weapons? Who can’t imagine a guardian with an off-hand mace or an off hand-sword? Make it happen, you can do it.
-The changes on staff and scepter would make guardians more fearsome in range, another thing that people have been complaining about is the range abilities of guardian. Since they are the only range weapons guardians have, some changes must be done. Personally I’d like a new range weapon for guardians, longbow would be kitten, I can imagine guardians shooting light arrows but that’s just me.
Seems like it’s only on blackgate server, I tried guesting to another server and it worked. Try that joker.
Right now everyone is stuck at the garrison, there seems to be some kind of a glitch that’s preventing the garrison’s door from opening, please fix this ASAP.
