Believe me SF and GOM. Kain does understand the numbers are simply against you. When we do fight… its a blast… just not that many fights out there anymore.

So you understand how outnumbered GoM is, yet Kaineng continues to only attack GoM’s side of EB? I haven’t seen kain even touch SF in EB today….

Does Kaineng ever sweep? Every time they take our keep/any tower, I always manage to be left in there alive…..I’m not even good at hiding lol It’s just unfortunate that I’m not a mesmer :’(

So last night I was thinking to myself, “Hey SF! That’s a very nice EB keep you don’t have!”

And now I’m sitting here imagining SF saying, “Hey GoM! That’s a very nice several keeps you don’t have!”

Let’s cut to the chase here. Gate of Madness (GoM) is in need of WvW players. Now, I’m not going to sell our server’s WvW by saying, “Oh, we’re awesome, we’re spectacular!” No. GoM’s WvW community, unfortunately, is declining, and our PvE is continually rising. The server doesn’t suffer from a lack of server wide population, we suffer from the WvW population. While we are beginning to become outnumbered every now and again, our hardcore and constant WvW player base never goes down without a fight. GoM, at this point in time, does not fair well against servers higher than us, although, if I’m so bold to say so, we hold our ground and defeat those lower than us (not much of an achievement, I know, although FC, AR put up a great fight and provide enjoyment!). But, GoM’s WvW community is not terrible, nor are we amazing. We’re probably slightly below mediocre in the bottom tiers at the moment.

That’s why we need you! GoM is in need of more WvW’ers, and while we are holding onto the hope of leagues bolstering our numbers, it is fairly doubtful. Perhaps, with the achievements being introduced into WvW and the new rewards, quite a few PvE’ers will make their journey to WvW. However, this cannot be relied upon and we would instead appreciate outside help (as well as our own).

“What can GoM offer in WvW?”
Well, person who asked this question who is most likely a figment of my imagination, I’m glad you asked!

GoM can offer the following:
- A small, yet efficient and dedicated WvW playerbase who always keep fighting till we’re wiped or food is ready in the microwave.
- GoM sports many small WvW guilds who cause much havoc in Borderlands, which communicate on the server’s Team Speak.
- A large percentage of our numbers spend their time in EB. Due to this, we generally hold our side of eternal battlegrounds during the server’s peak hours, and sometimes during the server’s inactive periods (depending if we’re versing servers 7 ranks above us cough, Kaineng, cough).
- GoM can also offer many players who have the potential to be recruited into guilds searching for WvW players as our population is ‘very high’.
- The server also hosts many great commanders whom the server respects. Usually, there is always at least one commander present, save for the server’s inactive time.

Now, for the negatives of our WvW (I know, it’s surprising that we have any!)
- Our server lacks coordination generally in borderlands unless guild groups are in there causing havoc.
- Our borderlands defense is average, although once taken over, a large force can be seen taking it back.
- We lack WvW population in general.

Also, a brief look at the PvE
- GoM’s PvE population continues to grow strongly each day.
- Many large guilds have found their home on GoM and are steadily branching out to WvW.
- Boss events are always downed quickly (although as of now, overflows are becoming slightly less than frequent).

Hopefully, my rambling has not been for nothing and someone has paid attention to what took me a whole 10 minutes to type (I could’ve been watching The Walking Dead)! Anyways, GoM is not looking to win every single matchup, nor are we expecting or looking for glory and riches through victories. We simply wish to obtain a stable WvW community that can stand against possible fluctuations of WvW change. Bokkieskitten, I think, seeing as FC murdered us, IoJ would do a lot worse? Perhaps wipe us from the existence of WvW?

I love the part where it says ‘IoJ, not GoM, not GoM’! Yet, I don’t understand it…

Well, tonight was awesome! Even though it started with Kain taking GoM’s side of EB. We managed to regain it, and then lost it again shortly after. In response to this, 13 or so of us transformed into moose, rams and dolyaks and roamed around aimlessly for a while as a herd! We came across a lone Kain guy and simply followed him half way around the map (not gonna lie, was pretty kitten epic seeing a moose/ram/dolyak herd!). From this, we then continued to retake GoM’s section of EB and then hit SF and took 2 of their towers and their keep! Aaaaannd…… then Kain came and wiped us and took our keep. The end. Needs more dragons.

If you really want to be guaranteed a place in the silver league, I’d say go for DR, AR, FC, ET or GoM

The Immortal O N E S [LIVE] is attempting to create a base group of constant WvW’ers within the Guild. We are branching out to WvW and would like to establish a core group for this. We are on the Gate of Madness server (GoM). While LIVE is predominantly a PvE Guild, we would like to become more active in WvW. [LIVE] is a medium sized Guild, with approximately 100+ or so active. Our peak times consist of 40+ on, and usually we have 25+ on unless it’s the server’s down time. We are a fully upgraded guild (all Guild missions, along with 2 – 3 constant buffs) and are a great/friendly/LIVEly community.

We are looking for players who generally spend most of their time playing in WvW (whether you are a WvW veteran or are also, like us, just getting into WvW), although this is not necessary. As LIVE does consist of many members, we usually have players in WvW regardless, however, only a minimum of Guild WvW events are run. We’ve suffered a bit of Borderlands action due to RISE leaving, but honestly, I don’t think it’s been that detrimental to GoM overall. We still have a large number of organised groups hitting Borderlands such as ART and RICH from what I’ve seen.

No offense taken :p At this moment in time, I agree that SBI is undoubtedly the better server if you’re looking for a WvW experience. And yes, NSP destroyed us last week, aa we struggled to get people into WvW, but this week alone we’re seeing a steady increase.

GoM is dying? Please, we have a ‘very high’ population and constantly get overflows at boss events, I doubt that’s ‘dying’. True, GoM lost a lot of WvW guilds, but we’re recovering. When leagues are released and there is temptation to enter wvw, I can assure you that a lot of our PvE’ers will head into WvW. On top of that, theGoM community is great and has a huge variety of amazing guilds. If you’re looking for a great PvE and a challenging WvW experience, GoM is for you

On Steve’s note, that makes me wonder, did AR gain transfers to their server for WvW? Or did they simply decide to get out of sPvP and head on into WvW? lol
