I’m not sure if this is the phase to mention this……but may as well throw it out there.

Proposal Overview: (Sorry, I’m not sure how to bold text :P )

- Converting merits to influence.
- Allowing merits to also be used to fast forward the build times of buffs.
- The introduction of more guild buffs. Firstly, I think utilising what is already available would be beneficial. Currently, guild merits are pretty much worthless once you’ve maxed out all the guild missions and the few buffs that are actually advantageous really only require 3 merits or so. Other buffs, such as the Hero’s Banner, which require 5 merits and a substantial build time of two days, can be easily purchased from vendors, so queuing them is rather pointless. Secondly, introducing new and beneficial buffs to each category (Politics, Art of War, etc), or possibly new upgrades altogether would be great.

Goal of Proposal:
To introduce a new variety of guild buffs and/or upgrades which would benefit the community.

Proposal Functionality:
Possible new buffs/upgrades:
- Upgrade Lengthifier: A buff that can be applied in order to lengthen the duration of another buff by possibly a day, two days or three. There could be three separate types of this buff, one for each duration length (Upgrade Lengthifier Stage One, Stage Two, Stage Three).

- Upgrade Doublifier: Doubles the effects of a buff already in use, not the duration. For example, if +10% MF is currently active, applying this buff to it will increase the effects to +20% MF.

- A permanent third queue slot. Obviously this would allow more buffs to be built and more buffs = happier guilds!

- General Experience Boost: An experience boost that covers all aspects of experience gain within the game. For example, killing enemies, completing dungeons, story missions, events.

- PvP Experience Boost: Providing additional experience in PvP for a limited amount of time.

- Merchant Price Decrease: Decreases the price of stock belonging to basic merchants for a period of time.

- Increase in Mystic Forge Success Rate: Increases the chance for rarer items to be obtained from the Mystic Forge by a small percentage. I would think 10% would be appropriate. Perhaps, for this, the duration period should be substantially smaller than other buffs, the build time considerably longer, and require a higher amount of influence and merits in order to avoid farming.

These buffs would require either influence or merits or both in order to begin building.

Additionally, converting merits to influence would be useful. Seeing as, after all missions are built, the amount of merits will hardly ever fall below 220-230, converting merits to influence would allow merits to actually become more useful. A conversion rate of 3 or 4 merits : 500 influence or something similar seems appropriate.

Finally, allowing merits to also be used to fast forward the build times of buffs would be beneficial too. Upon clicking the little green arrow to fast forward build time, a box should appear stating payment by merits or by influence and clearly display the amount required for each. Once the payment method is selecting, click “Accept”.

The Immortal O N E S [LIVE] is a medium sized PvE guild on the Gate of Madness server with 100+ active members.

We are seeking an experienced WvW and/or Commander to lead Guild groups consistently within WvW, be it Borderlands or EB. While we are a PvE guild, we are attempting to also assimilate into the WvW aspect of the game. We are mainly looking for a WvW raid leader due to the upcoming season. You must be:

- Willing to dedicate time. As we are a PvE Guild, initially, large turnouts will not be expected. However, during the last season we consistently had 15+ members running in EB for the first few weeks, so during the season, large numbers can be expected. Off season, dedication and patience will be required.

- Willing to join the Guild. It would be preferred if you predominantly represented LIVE. If this is an issue, yet you are willing to lead WvW groups, we can sort something out.

- Must be experienced at leading in WvW.

- If you are from a server other than GoM, you are welcome to join for as long as needed to determine if the guild is a good fit for you. If you decide to transfer, the costs will be provided for.

A little information about LIVE:
Our peak times consist of 30-40+ on, and usually we have 25+ on unless it’s the server’s down time. We are a fully upgraded guild (all misions etc, constant buffs – 4+) and are a great/friendly/LIVEly community. We use VOIP (Raid Call) constantly and approximately 15 of our closest members consistently frequent it. Our members are incredibly close knit.

GoM is definitely in need of more oceanic players. GoM would also greatly accommodate PvX players due to the large PvE population who frequent champion trains, world events and meta events (each meta is completed multiple times daily). The only time GoM has queues at the moment is after reset. During the week you won’t find any queues. If season two is anything like season one, GoM’s massive amount of PvE players will come out to WvW during the first few weeks. While this benefits the server greatly, we do not rely on this and, as a community, are working towards a greater WvW experience for all

It would’ve been better if GoM was proactive rather than reactive (I mean, this post is because of our recent…uh…“troubles” in WvW, I assume?) But oh well, the reason this thread is here doesn’t matter, what we do with it is!

The community of GoM is undoubtedly amazing (Wow, so cliche), but seriously, the constant WvW’ers of GoM are definitely close knit and frequent the server’s TS. When this occurs, I’ve noticed that due to the coordination, GoM really does create an opponent to be reckoned with. The “Green Arrow” events, while I’ve only participated in one or two briefly, bring the community closer together for a day/night of entertainment and fun!

So stop! Scroll up! Copy the names of the community managers and PM them! You won’t regret it

If you make it any harder you will be limiting rewards to a very small subset of people, be it due to skill or computer specs.

There’s no longer any rewards but 20 empy shards, woot! The puzzle, for those who can’t do it, honestly isn’t even worth it now…..no achievements and no rewards…..there is no longer a sense of accomplishment other than saying “I beat it!”

My problem is that I do all jp on ranger, necro, warrior, or elementalist. I also have a guardian who I never do jp with… because of the lack of permaspeed. With the jp in the pvp format, I lose my permaspeed, lose all the muscle memory that lets me farm through the other jp in the game on any race. The animations might be different, but every race jumps the same. Suddenly here it’s different and I generally die before I even get to the first gear.

I’d be more upset about it if there was anything at the end that I actually wanted.

For one, guardians can have a constant +33% speed going if specced right and secondly, I’m glad there are no speed buffs that you are able to use in the MK JP. This isn’t like a JP in the open world, no speed buffs and no skills leaves it to just plain old jumping and skill. For that, I am thankful for.

The best approach here I believe would be to take the best of both worlds: have an easier version for inexperienced players, and a super hard version for hardcore puzzle jumpers, with extra loot. That would be awesome.

If you’re only making it 1 out of every 3 attempts, that is failing. That is 33.333333333% pass rate. Which is a failing grade. You shouldn’t consider this easy until your success rate is above 70%.

I consider it extremely easy. 1 in 3? I did say at least once, meaning I also can do 2/3 and 3/3, which I have. But that besides the point. Jumping Puzzles are an amazing aspect of this game, and it’s called a puzzle for a reason. Puzzles are meant to be hard or challenging. The MK JP is neither….

The problem, my friend, is that they are hard and challenging. At least the MK Tower and general ratio of success I see from people while spending my time there. They are not challenging for you? Well good for you! Means you are good at games / gw2 / puzzles / whatever! Here, have a cookie. But if something is easy for you does not mean it is easy for general population. Bickering on forums (where mostly nerds like us posts) is of no use. General population doesnt even read this place. And they fail at JP, they fail a lot. Games should be balanced around general population when it comes to decide what is hard and what is easy. And not around some Usain Bolt guy who claims that running 100 metres below 10 seconds is easy.

Firstly takes a bite of the cookie, while it is the most appropriate course of action and the most favourable by many, pleasing the entire population continuously would not be very advantageous for the community as a whole. Teq for exa – takes another bite of cookie, for example was deemed ‘too hard’ by the general population and look how it turned out? A great success! Oh God this cookie is good! I understand the pains people are going through with the MK JP, I had them last year as well until I purchased a mouse that could actually turn :P A sort of tribulation mode for the advanced jumpers would be nice and greatly appreciated is all I’m saying A large majority of GW2 may be unable to complete it, but a a portion of its community (I’m sure) also finds it not challenging enough

Probably the hardest aspect of the JP is the end jumping through the shattered window.

I don’t know if you are joking, but you can’t fail that last jump. That or I have been really lucky because both times I arrived at the top, I jumped a little too late and instead of going through the opening, I “hit” the wall (you fall through it and get to the reward zone).

I don’t know why but I have to jump into the wall two slots over from the window to enter….been happening to me since the start of Halloween. I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or a bug….but Jumping into the window for me doesn’t work. I think the animations slow or laggy, but it’s annoying haha

I’m not trying to state that it’s easy for everyone in the game, but for a small majority of players, it is not challenging enough. Perhaps adding content onto the clocktower for the hardcore jumpers? I know that at least 1 in every 3 of my attempts I can make it to the top, and the two in which I don’t are just stupid jumping mistakes :P Probably the hardest aspect of the JP is the end jumping through the shattered window.

I honestly have found both as easy as eachother, but the Wintersday JP was enjoyable to complete as there was slight variations in the beginning paths from time to time. But I agree with you Larynx, it has no replayability unfortunately. And Curo, I understand where you’re coming from, when the MK JP is laggy, you can get absolutely nothing done. I was put under the map in the water at least 4 different times. While it’s awesome to swim around in the green water underneath and see what kind of strange places you can get yourself into, it’s incredibly irritating to complete if there’s a hint of lag.

Seriously, this JP is beyond simple. The wintersday JP, while somewhat more …. unique than this, was also still simple. I would have expected that Anet may have introduced a new component to the Mad King Clocktower, but that’s what happens when you get your expectations up high, they’re crushed …. The current JP is much too simple and easy to complete. In my opinion, the difficulty can be seen as almost something of a joke. I’m sorry if I’m coming off as “full of myself” to all those who can’t complete it, but it’s honestly not that hard of a JP. I think it would be amazing if Anet could offer up an extension to this either this year or next. Although, I don’t see it happening this year as the Halloween update is already out. But, I just thought I’d say that the JP is not hard, it’s the complete opposite and does not provide a challenge in the slightest. Please, Anet, in the future, make it more difficult

1st off i nvr post on these forums… but i wanted to express my hate.. GoM, and DH ur gonna double team little old AR? for what reason? GoM i kinda understand because we are beating u, u feel the need to attack us. but a double team really?

Lol you act as if AR hasn’t been doing this to GoM? From what I’ve seen with GoM, we purposely tried hitting DH over you guys for the first few days, but then kitten emed to ‘team’ with DH, never once hitting their side of EB, and competing over ours while DH was also hitting us. This was the same in GoM bls for a day and a bit. But yes, GoM wants to keep AR (or try to keep :P ) from beating us.

So……according to my screen when I press ‘B’, half way through this matchup, GoM somehow moved up to the 1/2 tier and we’re now against FA and JQ….And we’re WINNING! Nice job GoM! Keep up the effort!

Ps. this isn’t photoshopped, everyone in WvW for me is now seen as FA scout or JQ scout…..GoM’s moving up in the world!

Out of the two of you, you have sufficient numbers to fight us when you want to gather them up. AR had them the other night, no sign no.w

To fight DH? Honestly, it looks like GoM has trying to do that, but it’s kind of hard when AR and DH both hit continuously at once and don’t spare each other a second glance. I don’t know what’s up with AR, but we had them hitting our keep last night (out of the many times that night) and we managed to push them back 2 out of 3. Out of the 2 times we did push them, DH just went through their side of EB and took most of their towers, yet AR continued to keep hitting GoM’s keep while losing 30 points. It’d be nice to see DH or AR start making this matchup fun again, because up until the past day and a bit, both servers had hit each other equally, but now it seems the odds are stacked against GoM. C’mon guys, it’s WvWvW not WandWvW

GoM is steadily improving our WvW, and this is due to our work from within. Large PvE guilds are being seen more frequently in WvW and GoM has received some amazing small roaming guilds from other servers. Our night time presence (I would use a time zone but I’m not good with them haha) fluctuates in numbers. Every second night there is a commander on during this time and GoM will do quite well in EB during this time. Our commander coverage is growing, which is good to see and the server’s morale is rising. Just an update on GoMs wvw state at this point in time.

I’m going to come out here and say that DH (from what I’ve seen in the past two days) cannot fight….at all…..Now, I’m not trying to be offensive here, I’m simply stating observations.

What I’ve found is most zergs (true zergs….40+) are comprised of lots of newbs learning the wuvwuv ropes in a relatively “safe” and fun environment (T5 and below….higher tiers have some very well-coordinated zergballsofdeath). They can mow down enemy players with relative ease since they have 10 other people beating the kitten out of them too, so their confidence is pretty high. Nothing wrong with this, and we all likely did the exact same thing the first time we stepped into GW2 WvW. But (and it’s a big butt….. ), if they’re pressed, then it gets ugly fast. Pandemonium ensues and it becomes a newbie beat-down. This happens a LOT in these lower tiers. It doesn’t mean that server X is filled with “bads”, it just means their zerg train of newbs got roflstomped. No need to come here and proclaim a server “can’t fight”. That’s just rude and inflammatory, and doG knows we don’t want any of THAT in this thread……

“Can’t fight” may not have been the best word choice, but I’m going to stand by what I said. After yesterday, what I said I now believe more strongly. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure that the majority of DH players can fight, but your zergs…..if they are facing enemies of around the same numbers or less, DH will lose. I have seen this all of yesterday, when in DH bls for hours. First it was 5v8 with GoM being 5 and DH being eight plus they had vets at a camp. GoM killed them all without anyone even downing. So after this, a group of 3 AR came and wiped us. Clearly, something is up with that? To make things worse, at this same camp an hour or so later, myself and 2 guildies held our own against 7-8 DH…. I literally couldn’t believe it. After about a 5min battle they managed to kill us. We’re not even hard core wvwers and our builds are Pve not pvp and it took 5mins to kill us? From what ive seen DH won’t win a battle unless the odds are greatly in their favour. And, from I’ve seen, unless the DH Zerg greatly outnumbers the enemy zerg they’ll get trampled over. I’m sure this doesn’t apply to the majority of your server, but seriously, some of the fights I’ve been in where we’ve beaten DH, DH should’ve won….and it leaves me breathe taken at how we managed to kill a Zerg twice our size….What I’ve said is not inflammatory or defamatory (not sure which you meant), it’s simply observations that myself and a lot of others have witnessed. But don’t get me wrong, it’s still awesome fighting DH and beating a group more than twice your size, or coming close to, so I thank DH (and AR) for the great fights this week, although AR has undoubtedly been more challenging.

I’m going to come out here and say that DH (from what I’ve seen in the past two days) cannot fight….at all…..Now, I’m not trying to be offensive here, I’m simply stating observations. Sunday night. We had a GoM group of maybe 20 guys retaking our side of EB. Let me tell you how it played out. The 20 or so GoM managed to break into the lord’s room of our keep. Now, DH had a zerg there of maybe somewhere between 30 – 40, probably closer to 30. On top of this, they had the invincibility of the keep lord, and ac’s…..GoM managed to kill all of DH, while we were continuously being pelted by the invinci-lord. Why did GoM win this battle? The DH players we fought were absolutely terrible. I’m sure this isn’t a server wide thing for DH, but those 30+ I fought were something horrid. Later, as we were defending a tower which DH had already broken into by the time we got there, we had a group of 10 or so against a group of approximately 18 – 25 DH…..once again, we won. From what I’ve seen, DH relies solely on zerging and the players I’ve fought have been hopeless beyond belief. Clearly, numbers are the only thing on your side. Once again, I’ll reiterate, I’m not attempting to blatantly attack DH with my comments, simply observing their ‘tactical’ WvW performance.

lmao.. im spawn farming GoM and AR with 15-20 ppl right now and GoM 25+ and AR has 30+ and yet im mopping the floor with all of u guys……. HAHAHAHA
