ALto throw them on cliffs to forever annoy the melee and people too lazy to target up and get them, It reeealy extends the possible life of a turret. Hmmm I wonder if they can be deployed on trees as well?
Deployable turrets is used to troll in a few ways, 1 is detonate thumper turret in zergs. Toss thumper, over charge, detonate, laugh. Another use is to deploy them on walls at towers/ keeps. People literally NEVER look up so your turrets are much safer from randm aoe up there and as a added bonus they auto attack the gates MUWAHAHAHAH. I deployed my rocket turret at durios went off to fight a few enemies in the fields, came back and it wa sstill attacking the gate!
That dosent even make sense. Anyway, sticking turrets on walls has got to be the best way to troll someone ever!!!
Ppl will soon realize how awesome deployable turrets is! Keep up the good work! Cant wait for the future buffs to turrets XD
Best part? Beating ppl with turrets (because they ignore them all the time) in wvw then pressing /sleep as they sloooooooowly kill them in the downed state.

I that case go for sigil of chilling. Increased chill duration for another 10% if you want to go full chill spec. I would also have a corruption weapon for the stacking.
Despite what the haters may say congrats on trying to think outside the box, its part of the draw of the engineer class. I like the idea of a chill heavy condition build. I wonder if the chill on swap and chill on crit would conflict wich each other? I want to know why the op went with a rifle instead of p/p or p/s. I would like to encorporate this into a condition build I’m working on for fun. I also want to know how this build fairs versus ranged opponents and melee, wich is better? Do you intentionally get in melee range to apply the chill from runes/sigils?
You ask with the assumption that everyone has stopped enjoying their engineer. I for one have never stopped enjoying the class. Despite all the nerds and so called minimal buffs engineer has never stopped being fun. I have never seen any class as impossible to take down or any part of the game in playable. But to answer the question I have always just kept things fresh. I have done the nades thing until they adjusted it then I stopped just spamming nades and switched a kit for once. I found that my damage output increased as I became used to switching kits every second. I then went on t use bomb kits, tank at variations, pistols. Flame thrower then now back to nades. I have found that engineer lends itself to so many play styles that I literally have like 4sets of armor to switch it up on the fly. I never get bored because I do not allow myself to be that way. N I don’t do save so I don’t know how it plays out there but everywhere else is pretty fun. And another thing about the “underpowered” state of our class, any supposed jack of all trades class shouldn’t be expected to be on the level of classes that skew towards a certain strength. Get used to the fact that we won’t be the best X class because from jump street we weren’t designed to be so.
Eleazyair.5716 haha I run with Asuran tier 3 Cultural, mixed with tier 2 (I likes parts of both) I mixed that with the Azure Railgun and the Hyperbeam Alpha and I run the golems for style as I made the gear have the same color scheme. In wvw its fun to see people ask me where I get the grear from. But I like the idea of a tech based engineer. I feel that Char and Aura are really the onle choices for engineer because the others dont really bring a particular flavor. It also helps that Asura have the most amusing animations in game imo from the run to the jumps to the way they use toolkit. XD
I run pure glass cannon in wvw with 100nades. I bombhug everything that moves. Yaks, random mobs, trebs and other annoying seige, kitteny thieves, enemy commanders, worker boys ANYTHING…even the rabbits hahaha. Its like Ejiofor says “Butter hitting a hot skillet” I switched elixer s for net turret because ppl just never seem to bother with it and it lets me get ppl to pop their globals. They get scared when in a net these days. Generally I wait to pick out unsuspecting foes from groups or if I feel like it I will just sit back and spam rifle 1 or nades. Oh and as an asuran I seem to run into Norn Guardians alot and they are attracted to nades like flies to poop. Everytime i see one runnin at me im literally yelling “COME AT ME BRO” at my screen and laugh as they are forced to take a seat within a split second. Hell ill sometimes bombhug a downed opponent just because.
As far as style goes Asura all the way baby!! My suit, my gun , my golems they all scream superior tech (At least they give the appearance of them)
Guys stop worrying lol. I sincerely think that we are going to be ok. ey guys riojin here. Here is a bit of an update on what they are trying to do. it seems that they are only going to take a look at the most problematic area of effect spells and balance those . It seems that for engineers I think it is safe to say that flame thrower , pistols, rifle, and to some extent bomb and grenades will not be touched in a major way. It sounds crazy but hear me out . The area of effect on our weapon does not fit into the category of aoe spells being abuse in both Dungeons and Pvp. Due to the rate of fire on the flame thrower and it’s limited range its effective damage per second is actually less than single target spells. The only edge that it has is that it is area of effect and that it Procs on crit effects. And since most are on an internal cool down then it takes this spell off that list of op and abused as well. Next is grenade that everyone is worried about they specifically said in this recent twitch that they are happy where grenade damage is . Which leads me to bombs they have already had their range reduced and there were some fixes to smoke bombs and since they are mostly for stacking conditions it makes me feel that is it safe to say they won’t be bothered either. This was what I gathered form the recent twitch.
I run similar setup to this. 10/30/0/10/20, P/s, Tough,cond,pres gear . for WvW. I play it more towards Ccondition damage though. mostly for burn duration and pistol application. I use static discharge with rifle turret because it dosent inturupt the flame thrower and you can double tap it. What I mean by that is that you can drop the turret. Explode. and use toolbelt skill to double fire the discharge and get the blast finisher. Its on a relatively short cd and its wonderful. Fire and lightning everythere. I usually open up with the pistol series of moves with static discharge firine all over the place and when I see them dodge I switch to toolbelt kit and pull em in. Prybar to the face and switch to flamethrower. The flamethrower is there to proc bleeding and burn real quick and form there I got options. If they stay in melee their toast cause static discharge and toolbelts are still firing away. If they run away (wich they always do) then its pistols to the back. I even sometimes drop the rifle turret and hit its overcharge move and then explode it for more diacharge. Its not the OMG best build ever but its great fun.

Easy, I joined a few other engineers in this all engineer guild and only play him in somewhat coordinated attacks with mortars in WvW. Its a blast.
Yes I agree it was alot of fun even with like 4 engineers together. All of a sudden mortars became the best thing ever invented! I cant wait to see when we have a mortar division al ready to lay waste!

I take a break from engie to level other classes and I peek in to find this awesomeness! I feel like the engineers are rising up in a revolt against everyone right now. Riojiin SoR Dedicated flamethrower engineer at your service! If I dont want to change servers can I still join in? Even if I cant I would still want in on this just because the idea is pure gold.

Does the elixer have an actual effect on the golem?
if so is this an effective/practical thing to do?
I ask because I use the golem (silly I know, but its fun for me)
