Hi!
So I had a group doing Ascalonian Catacombs and we started doing path 3 with Tzark, and for the Lovers Spawns part, Tzark wouldn’t initiate the instance? We ran past the group guarding the place, and Tzark followed us, but wouldn’t initiate the thing. We tried to go back and have him die, so we could revive him and see if that fixed it. He died at that group guarding the instance, so we killed the group and revived him, but still he wouldn’t start the instance when we ran back in..
I don’t know how serious of a bug this is, because before that, I had done multiple runs and it worked every time. That was my final run though, and I haven’t tried since.
Thanks!
How about houses for sale and maybe jobs, such as helping the local weapons makers all for small bits of karma (houses cost more)
I really like this idea. Possibly invoke some real estate business into the game, have people buy and sell houses in different cities. Also the job thing too. Somehow tie in quests in different cities to sell supplies to shops, and craft different items for shops. This will also help people level up their crafting disciplines at the same time.
Fatfox you’re definitely right, having some type of buff will definitely attract people to different cities. And it seems reasonable too, to have stuff like that.
And Tipsy, the city-based economy can reach even further with selling materials and items that we’ve picked up from around the area. Maybe listing an item on the TP for certain items be cheaper or more expensive depending on what it is. Have it fluctuate to a certain degree.
But all the while, SoPP you’re definitely right, they probably are aware of all of this. Throwing around ideas like this, though, is also helpful to them (if they look at this).
Yeah! Cause the lag in Lions Arch is really bad.. I think LA will still be a central city in the game but additions to the others will strengthen their usage in the game too.
Hi everyone,
It seems to me that whenever I travel to cities other than Lions Arch, I rarely see anyone! The only people I see are presumably just working their way through the main storyline. It seems to me as if these cities are not getting paid any attention, because EVERYTHING happens in Lions Arch, from Fractals, to the Mystic Forge.
When Christmas rolled around, Tixx added a reason for people to travel to cities other than Lions Arch and it gave people a reason to travel to those cities, rather than stay cooped up in Lions Arch.
Anyways, my main point is, I feel like maybe there should be some additions to cities other than Lions Arch that really grab people’s attention and make them want to travel to those cities. There should be ways you would attract higher-level people to cities. There were some ideas that popped into my head:
1. Add some type of dungeon to the cities
2. Add city-specific reward-based stuff like games/merchants where you can get special items specifically from certain cities.
3. If you had different types of “mystic forges” in each city where they would each have different “stats” so to speak. The RNG equation could be different for each forge, resulting in different outcomes from the forge from each city.
4. (This one is a little bit of a stretch so bear with me.) Have a city-based economy. In each city, they each have their own type of economics. For example, Hoelbrak is surrounded by snow and ice, so that city would have a greater supply of I dunno, materials and food items that are from that region only. So in Hoelbrak, stuff like that would be cheaper than say, in Rata Sum, where they are nowhere near that area. Another example, Lions Arch is right near the sea, so they would have tons of fish- and sea-based products. So it would be cheaper to buy those products there than in other cities, like the Black Citadel. This makes sense in my head but if you have any questions just ask haha.
Granted I am not an expert, so these are only the ideas I just thought of. Will they attract people to each city? I have no clue. But I was just trying to somehow think of some way people would want to travel to cities other than Lions Arch. Any thoughts or ideas?
What do you guys spend 20-25g on, or 40g on to sell back?? Materials?
I just checked, and you can customize Toshiba laptops with i7 processors and 6GB RAM for less than $800 USD. I don’t know if this is in your price range, but it’s something worth looking into.
Yeah, I have a Toshiba Satellite L670 with 2.4GHz i5 CPU with 4GB RAM and this thing overheats unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It shuts off after 5 minutes of gameplay because it gets too hot. With an underneath fan, however, it works perfectly (still gets fairly hot though).
You really need a good internet connection too, and I mean good.
But for WvWvW this does exactly what you’re saying, it gets very choppy during large battles. So judging from how my laptop runs, I would recommend getting above 4GB RAM, with Intel Core i5 or better.
Hope this helps! Good luck finding the laptop!
I got a key from finishing Cursed Shore, and I just opened up 2 chests in a row and got keys out of both of them. I feel like its my lucky day lol. I’m also getting a lot of MFs which is fine by me!
hahaha that’s ridiculous. but how did you get 90 keys?
It’s the same thing with me. I completed some jumping puzzle, killed a giant champion destroyer troll by myself and I get blue crap.. Not even green! I did the same jumping puzzle to do what you’re talking about, I only got a couple green stuff too… Maybe we should go farm ice imps lol, I mean what if they incorporated the same thing in GW1 where you farm ice imps, you get icy dragon swords? But maybe for GW2 ice imps = black lion keys
haha… It is pretty ridiculous though..
I would quote Han Solo and say “never tell me the odds” haha, but I do know the odds are not in my favor. It’s not my main form of trying to get money in guild wars, it’s almost like a little added bonus on the side. I’m not counting on this to get money for me. I just thought this was a nice addition on the side to try for (counting on getting black lion keys), which is why I was originally trying to figure out if there was any way of getting those easier. I’m not going to spend my money on the keys, so I’m not gambling on anything. If you got free lottery tickets in real life, wouldn’t you try to play the odds? That’s kind of my mentality with the BL chests.
And omnomberry bars are a good idea too, instead of relying on getting MF from the chests, thanks!
I’ve gotten 2 BL salvage kits and a couple of the booster multipack if that’s what you’re talking about. I haven’t gotten the minipet pack thing though if that’s what you’re talking about. So you’re right, that’s definitely worth it
Even though I haven’t used the BL salvage kits yet haha…
Thanks Max. And well I’m just enjoying completing areas with all my characters, and gaining gold along the way. I’m not by any means rich, I’m just trying to save up to potentially get a Legendary down the line. So right now, one of the better solutions (in my mind) has been to just open up these chests and hope for the best. It’s just a way for me to potentially get something good (or help me get something good [using MF]) all the while saving up money.
Is it an incredible long shot? Probably. But one can still hope. If you don’t buy the BLK with gems, its a potential free way of getting a lot of gold. And I don’t just mean getting a permanent contract; I used the MF before in Fractals and every single drop I got was green/rare, plus tier 6 crafting materials. So selling 30-40 green weapons/armor to vendor for 1s+ and the tier 6 crafting materials landed me a lot of money just from using one MF. So in my eyes, a little help like that is worth it, and worth finding BLKs.
I’ve gotten a couple keys from opening up the chests themselves. And I’m a stickler for finishing areas, but rarely do I get a key from that. Maybe it’s just bad luck. And I have the same thing, tons of basic transmutation stones and mystery tonics, but nothing too good.
If you use a magic find booster, does this:
1. affect the contents of the chests?
2. affect the drop rate of keys? Or is it just for rarer items such as weapons/armor?
Thanks everybody! And Vol I can always hope haha. Getting magic finds from them could also help me get exotics for ectos too. They’re somewhat useful.
Or get to level 10 like you said, thanks!
Thanks! I guess I’ll just have to build up some gold and trade for gems..
Hi everybody,
What are the easiest ways of getting black lion keys that doesn’t break the bank? It seems as if buying them from TP is really expensive. I’ve been completing each area in hopes to get a key but haven’t managed to get that many from that. Any ideas? Thanks!
