Yeah, I never use this. If I didn’t need my 2 key for my short bow I’d unbind it altogether. There’s really no point unless there are 40 players DPSing the same target. Even then I doubt I’d bother.

EB was lagging for me quite badly so I took a run through the jump puzzle for the chest and some relatively low-latency kills. It’s a great break from the zerg vs zerg for the small scale pvp.

If I see a red player, I’ll attack them. I don’t see why the jump puzzle should be a special neutral zone with the war raging on outside. I can see why getting killed during the jump puzzle would be irritating, but I would expect others to do the same to me. Besides, it’s not that far to run back and the puzzle is pretty easy and quick once you’ve run it 2 or 3 times. I run solo as well so it’s not like it’s unfair.

The pvp adds to the suspense of the place if you ask me. The devs wouldn’t have put a bunch of traps in place (not that I use them) if they didn’t want pvp to happen. Harden up a bit IMO and put your armor back on.

You can play the glass cannon card all you want but go watch a thiefs pvp that abuses stealth, Slic is a good example. A glass cannon taking 3+ players at 80 at the same time screams imbalance.

As soon as you start laying down damage its bam stealth, heal, cond dmg, stealth. Fastest class in game highest end regen rate gives them the ability to avoid damage very easily when one of their many broken stealth skills is down.

A thief is not hard to kill but the wide variety of avoidance they get makes it nearly impossible to get them unless they are just bad.

This is pretty off the mark. Slic’s build is actually very tanky with 20 points in toughness and healing and 20 points in vitality. As with any class, this investment into survivability takes away from damage – for example there is absolutely zero investment in Precision. With this build you do not instagib opponents, but wear them down through clever positioning and smart use of abilities – yes including stealth. Slic kills several players because he is far better than they are. They don’t know how to counter stealth. They tend to throw themselves at him one at a time instead of holding off and attacking as a group. They don’t cleanse conditions or haven’t specced into it. They attack his pets instead of him – hell they even attack neutral mobs instead of him!

Also in these type of videos you will rarely get to see the fails. You think he is a godmode thief in every single encounter?

Final points:
If someone build glass cannon, they will die quickly. You can’t have top damage with good survivability.

Stealth is not god mode. You will and do get hit while in stealth by players who know what they’re doing. And no, you don’t require AoE to do this, merely a brain.

Darkhaven vs Anvil Rock vs Ferguson's Crossing

When I logged in I was surprised to see my server, Fergs, owning most of the map. An hour later this became a very even matchup with all three guilds holding onto their natural thirds in each of the four maps.

This was exactly what I was hoping for as last week when Fergs owned the whole map, it got pretty boring, apart from some Kaineng pluck. The next few hours were great though as instead of a single zerg castle round robin run, there was sustained fighting and castle holding on multiple fronts. Awesome!

Then Darkhaven’s numbers showed as well as their in guild coordination. A small example of this is as a thief I like to get Scorpion Wire to pull enemy ranged off battlements followed by Devourers Venom to stop them running back in. Tried this multiple times and there just wasn’t enough follow up to get the kill. I’m a solo unguilded player so that’s what I get I suppose. Got yanked off the battlements twice by a big Darkhaven guild on the other hand and was dead before I hit the ground.

Now the map belongs to Darkhaven it’s been fun doing solo hit n runs. Probably more fun than dominating last week actually.
