This guy did this on our server.
He had all instruments one could get in this game and forced me to turn my volume up.
Fun times – they really were – just that we had to get SM all the time as he was afraid Skeletor would get it and it was his home castle, you know?

Haha that is awesome!

It would be interesting if it could provide an area buff while the drum was being played. Nothing over the top, but 1 stack of might or some minor swiftness or something to all friendlies within a certain radius.

Yeah I agree with that. Would give people incentive to use it. I plan on putting the drum away once combat starts (I still want my bags :P) but I like the idea of being able to play it when the Zerg is just walking around.

Like what the British did, how they recruited drummer boys to play the drums in the middle of battle. I think it would be pretty cool to see a member of a zerg playing the drums in a fight. I know that a lot of people have their sound off or very low so they wouldn’t be able to hear it, but I just like the idea and lore behind it :P

Has anyone tried this or thought about it? If people complain, they could always just mute the instruments in the options menu, so I don’t see any harm in it

I think it would make running from objective to objective a little more interesting, and you could always put it away when you get into a fight.

Low vs. High settings. Wow.

I know exactly what you mean.

Originally I was running this game on medium graphics with about 50 FPS and I thought it looked pretty good. Then my graphics card died (right around the time of the Battle of LA) and I had to use the processor, which was about 5 years old, so to play at all I had to turn it right down to minimum, and even then it was a struggle.

I decided it was time for an upgrade instead of simply a replacement of what I had and to cut a long-story short it ended up taking almost a month to get the parts and get them all in and working but I was so glad I did because I could finally play the game on max settings and it looked amazing.

I spent a lot of time just running around different areas to see what they looked like with the new settings, and I’m not normally the kind of person who cares about graphics at all (I actually struggle to see improvements normally.)

Below is a comparison of before, during and after.

It’s unbelievable, sometimes I just want to walk around Tyria and enjoy the scenery. Yesterday I did Teq for the first time with these settings and I realized there is no way I can go back to low settings. High settings give this game completely new life for me.

That moment you realize...

Haha that would be awesome. I can just imagine Teq staring down at me and screaming “You better give me a kittening exotic drop!”

I run it with ReShade as well and it’s even more amazing. Here, check the comparison!

I didn’t need the ReShade unlocker for some reason. I have an i5 and GTX 760 running at 60 fps all the time excluding World Bosses.

Oh my goodness! I had no idea ReShade was even a thing XD, it looks amazing!

It is absolutely stunning.

So about a week ago my old PC broke because of a power surge. It was an old HP Laptop that could barely run the game at 20 FPS on lowest settings. So I got a new gaming laptop with a GTX 960m and Quad Core 3.5 ghz i7. This meant I was finally able to crank up the settings on the game!

I jumped right in after it finished downloading and I. was. stunned. I never knew just how pretty this game is until I saw it with my own eyes on my own computer.

Thank you Anet for making one of the prettiest MMO’s I have seen, and let’s not forget, it came out in 2012!

I created an elementalist today after taking a break from gw2 since HoT was released. I was so pumped to play Staff Elementalist because I watched other people play them on streams or in videos and I always thought staff was so cool! Then I saw the fireball effect and I got so confused and sad. Why would you do this Anet? Everything has changed since release, the original vision for this game has completely changed. There’s nothing special about this game anymore and it makes me so sad.
