Would it be so difficult to make the rewards from a map completion usable by the character which did the actual completion ?

Not talking about the random loot but the completion of a map …finished Strait of devastation yesterday…and got two exotic piece or armor ….

YEah!!!!???????…KITTEN !…unusable by my class !

Yeah I know : can sell, can give, can even salvage but I would have prefered “can use”

Frankly this is a little bit frustrating !

Actually yes…there is already a thread on that…but to make it short…check her computer clock/Time/region … it might be the cause

Dodge X: If you don’t dodge over 10 attacks per hour of play in this game, I hate to say this but you are doing it wrong. I don’t care what class you play, dodging is an essential mechanic to being even somewhat mediocre at this game. If you don’t dodge, learn to do it.

You’re missing the main point…but anyway…thanks for the insult :P …. I hardly use the dodge mechanic and surprisingly I don’t think I’m that mediocre………strange how some people think that the way they play is the only way that should be played….

And anyways, who said your character should automatically become more powerful when they level up? People somehow have gotten it into their head that having a higher-level character automatically grants them some god-given right to be over-powered in lower-level zones.

Who ?…well maybe most of the RPG since DnD first ed…….If you go to the end of your logic then take out the leveling system altogether (like in Zelda by example) .

Leveling is there to mimic the obvious fact that “practice makes perfect”…that a highly trained commando GI will kill somebody a lot faster and easier that me …but in a fantasy world…so yes I think it’s logical that a level 80 would be more efficient than a level 5 at killing a level 1 monster.

That said, I have to agree that this system was working well giving you a better play experience…but I still think it was already well balanced and didn’t need any of those so call “improvement”.

downscaling not working

Scaling previously worked well and I gave credit to Anet for nailing it. However, it appears they have improved it worse is many respects. I encountered a version of it after the patch on my level 80 warrior doing map completion in Brisban. I almost died to a pack of level 20+ mobs. I have no problem in Orr taking down 5 mobs, why all of a sudden do I have a near-death experience in a level 20+ area.

Very sad to see them improve scaling in the same way they improved dailies…worse.

Agree…ain’t broken don’t fix it….why “improve” working mechanics when you have a huge amount of little (and big) bugs floating around still ? Heck ! there’s is more than 400 pages here…and even if you close/merged half of it there is still a lot to do…that would be improvement.

Crafting 10 items involves very little effort. Even if you just started playing the game on that day you can get it done very easily. You just buy a pick / axe / sickle go harvest a few nodes and you can craft your 10 items starting from absolute scratch.

Again, this is missing the entire point. Non-crafters are not concerned with the daily’s difficulty. Everyone already knows “crafting 10 ingots” is easy.

Can a non-crafter skip that daily altogether? Sure, but until the choice factor is implemented, they’ll miss days of getting laurels for the duration of that time. Gathering resource nodes, such as in the previous daily set, was a terrific middle-of-the-road option for both crafters and non-crafters alike.

but i’m sure what you find fun In this game, many others don’t… you feel the game designers should only produce content that you … one single person playing would find fun and nothing else? This is not your personal game, it’s a MMO.

That’s exactly Celtic’s point no ? That what a “middle-of-the-road option” is all about …acknowledging that it’s no ones personal game

I really don’t understand most of the arguments…the point is not that the achievement are hard to get … point is why being forced to play the part of the game we don’t like….I’ve read here people not doing PvP or WvW or crafting …and some people don’t combat with dodging and combos most of the time….and that’s fine why would they be force to do so ?

I’ve seen, can’t find it back, someone suggesting that those achievement should have been Extra Dailys with laurel as bonus….That’s a great idea if I’ve seen one here !!! I totally concur

By the way, on an idle curiosity, why bother creating a new currency like the laurel when the Achievement Points are already there doing sweet nothing ? People who play the game with all the feature would be rewarded more no ?

Not a question of being hard or not…question of type of gameplay and that’s what was making the guildwars games so enjoyable letting people play the way they like.

Dailies were about the basis of the game everybody do : killing monster, playing event, and “explore” to get different types of opponent…yeah there was gathering but hey…while you were “exploring” there they were and no need to do anything with it … now if one want the karma and exp of the dailies they are force to adopt some type of gameplay they dislike…or forget about it

Question is why did ANet modify the Daily ? I mean what’s the point. Before you were able to do the Daily by playing normally…now ?…why would I dodge if I don’t need to ?..crafting ? yes, maybe when and only when I’m in a town…and have time to spend there…never been that much interested in crafting…underwater ? … Found movement underwater crappy enough without being forced to do achievement there….

Really, the old Daily was way better, had to play the game only…now looks more like being forced on a type of gameplay…bad..real bad idea

Strange..thought is was fixed. Got the same Land Shark in Borliss Pass and the map was showing the event as if it was going on but all sharks were green. When I returned all was fine. All sharks in water and I completed the challenge. Could it be that if somebody don’t finish the challenge it got stuck ?
