No, because I would like it sooner than later. As does everyone in the world for what ever they aspire for, right? Or do you like MAKING yourself wait because you are a fan of Masochism? The way the game WAS, I was fine for waiting about a month for the armor set I wanted, but more and more I watch them expand that time slot, for no other reason than to make you play longer. You’re the guy who hates the word GRIND right? Define GRIND the way you have it in your head, because to me it explains a feeling; A feeling of dragging your face across the cement in a moving car so you can grab the 100 dollar bill that’s on the ground. You sound like you do that everyday for 3 hours and then take a lime shower.

No I like playing a game in my own time and eventually I’ll get everything I want. I’m level 80 with exotic gear and didn’t “grind” or “farm” anything. I spent a couple days casually completing each zone, doing every event I came across, and saving up my money (I bought the majority of my gear from 1-79 using karma after completing hearts). I amassed over 20g by the time I was 80, and then got a few gold more just roaming around Orr for a while.

The problem here is attitude and impatience. Exercise patience and treat GW2 as a game (i.e. entertainment) and you’ll be a lot happier. Instead of treating it like a chore where you have to complete everything in the same day.

And when did this all take place, the map completion/money acquiring and such?

good job Trion Riot ArenaNet

Well played. I’m OK with things taking time, but when you can actively see them expanding on that ammount of time it’s aggravating. I got a full time job and a partimer, I don’t have the time to farm for a few hours a day.

-Cont-

You banned players for buying Karma weapons and selling them back to the venders for in game currency… Explain to me how this is different from buying Gems and “Trading” (selling) them for in game currency. In essence it’s not, you labeled it an exploit because players found a system in which they could exchange Karma for in game currency. So instead of explaining WHY this was an exploit you banned the accounts and labeled it an exploit. Once again punishing the players for THINKING. Really, what is wrong for exchanging Karma for Gold? I’ll tell you, it takes away from the money you make from people buying Gems. Of course you don’t want to say that, but you have a business and you want to keep it that way.

-Disclaimer: I was dumb a didn’t even think of exchanging Karma for Gold at the time, thank the giant spaghetti monster in the sky that I didn’t.-

Each time you make something more outrageously expensive you increase the likelihood of players purchasing more Gems. Did you ever stop to think WHY players were so desperate for money early on in the game? They didn’t have a Trading Post so they had to NPC an item for 3 Silver when they could have made a Gold.

I now want to address the SPASTIC increase in Karma weapon prices, Faction weapon prices, and Racial armor prices.

I remember going to my Order of Whispers Headquarters after finding our they sold faction armor/weapons; this was a day or two before you “adjusted the prices,” and buying each piece of armor for 25 SILVER and each weapon for THE SAME PRICE. Now, after you “adjusted the prices” it is now 4 GOLD per piece and 10 G PER weapon. You can buy better weapons and armor at the Trading Post for 3 G. The faction armor, to me, was the starter gear for lvl 80. How did you justify increasing the Karma/Racial/Faction items by more than TEN FOLD? You said that players found an exploit in which they could sell it back to the vender for more than they bought it. Are you kidding me? I bought each piece for 25 SILVER, the NPC’s offer was 3 SILVER and 45 Copper. LAME.

Even if this was a Knee Jerk reaction to the “Exploit” you still haven’t even noted to bringing them back down – you AVOID the topic all together. ALL of this makes the game a grind. I can tell the reason is you want players to play for longer, but instead of adding more content for the players you just make what we have more difficult.

You recently nerfed ARAH’s rewards by blocking the second boss from even being fought. Yet, despite constant pleas you do NOTHING to the OP that is “Giganticus Lupicus” and NOW you’ve made it even more difficult for players to even get gear that can even stand up to these dungeons.

EVERY TIME the player base finds a way to get faster rewards you attack them and make the game harder. At the rate you are going Guild Wars 2 will end up being just another Korean Grind fest full of BOTS and SPAMMERS.

And I, as a consumer should not feel threatened by voicing my opinion, or finding a way to enjoy the game that I payed for in a way that doesn’t violate the TOS.

I enjoy this- sorry, enjoyED this game very much. I lovED the direction of “No GRINDING” but everywhere I turn you patch another subject to be the exact same as every other MMO. Where is this Vision you spoke of? You are losing it. You are throwing out your Art for a poster of a Dollar Bill.

Thank you, Stratto.

So I started in the {played 3 betas before} “head start” – this was 3 days before the actual release- and needless to say I enjoyed myself (I hit 80 in 3 days). Now I’m going to name off certain problems that I’m having with the reasons given why dungeon rewards are being nerfed and prices for karma/faction/race items haven’t been brought back down from their 10 fold increase.

First off I want to address the dungeon reward nerfs. Why exactly are you doing this? You are punishing the players for learning the game and getting proficient in one area. Not only do we have to deal with some dungeons being unavailable for 10 minutes at the top of every hour (Cof) or worse 3-4 hours (Arah) now we are being punished for getting the most out of what little time we are allotted to do said dungeon. There are only two reasons I can see that are possible for this knee jerk reaction:

(1): You want to try and push players to explore other parts of the dungeon(s). -I would like to address this: Now you have to understand the reason we do these dungeons over and over again, what’s that called again? Oh yea “Grinding” right, now we “Grind” these dungeons to get the cool looking armor sets found in Lion’s Arch by trading tokens that we acquire after every run, usually 20-25. Others do it for the monetary rewards to spend on armor/weapons/dyes at the Trading post.

-Let me tell you the one thing we DON’T “Grind” dungeons for: Loot. The loot given to us from chests is atrocious: the fact that a monetary reward from one of these chests is “1 copper” is almost infuriating. On top of that we also see maybe 3 blues and of course the “tokens” 4-5 from each chest.

With this latest patch ALL you have done is made it harder to get anything in the game, in effect making it more… oh what is the word you use ALL the time as an example of what you are trying to get away from…. Ah “Grinding” You are making this game MORE of a grind every patch.

(2) You want players to spend more time out in the world. -I can see why, the designing of this game is beautiful, HOWEVER yet again the rewards for exploration and event grinding are horrid.

Once we hit 80 all we care about is looks, THAT and getting as powerful in our respective play styles as possible. The rewards given for world exploration make it “meh”. “Meh” meaning “I can do this….or I can go farm a dungeon and look cool.” This brings me to another HUGE elephant in the room that has gone unadressed for way too long.
